Description : (update)
I went back and reworked the levels so it'd be smoother (mainly with the bass). Nothing fancy, just some polishing. Payce
(end update)
So as I announced earlier this year, The Crystal Method was offering up some of their songs for other artists to play with by providing the stems on their web site (provided that you bought the album Divided By Night, dunno if they've changed the requirement since then).
Originally I was going to make a completely different song, but earlier on this morning when I was messing with adding stuff to the project I opened up the TCM- BR folder and started fooling with the vocals. I felt that they fit with the groove of what I was doing. So I ended up laying the entire vocal sample out and then I went and added other elements of their song. I dunno, I might've gone a bit overboard with the FX on here, but I was wanting to ensure that the vibe of the original song that I was working of carried over into this remix (which is where the name comes from, BTW, the orig title was Nap Time, and I intended for it to be a sister song to Snooze Button).
Genre-wise, I've thrown this into Electronic, even though I feel that it's more like some low tempo Tech-House. And at the moment I'm contemplating whether I should post Nap Time as well. Anyways, I hope yall dig this strange puppy I done did. Later on!
PS. Please tell me if the mixdown sounds muddled to you or not coz at the mo' I can't tell.
PPS. Alright, I've also made another mp3 of just the original parts I did if any of my friends wanna collab on it, message me to lemme know and I'll shoot you the file/s.

I've never heard the original version but I certainly think this version is quite good Donnie! I thought the vocal track was cool. I don't think the effects were overdone at all, overall a really cool mix! Well done mate!
Yeah, I def agree. In the email that I tried to shoot TCM when I updated this I said the same thing about the vox. And oddly enough, effects are what helped smooth out the bass I added for this. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Hey Man! Like the sound of your remix! Like how it starts out and builds getting more techier along the way! Like the use of vocals in here too. They fit perfectly with the track!
Nice stuff man! Haven't heard the original either but sure like the sound of this! :)
Prech that mate. The slow, simple build is the way I do my Tranq music (dream-like, but not really belonging to any of the existing 'dream' sub-genres). And what can I say, the TCM stems were awesome. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Cool man! Yeah, the synths were 50/50 on this. The stuff you hear at the beginning is all my stuff and as the song progresses I threw more of TCM's stuff into the mix. As for the drums, kept 'em real simple, ya know? Glad ya dug it. Later on!
This is wicked. Think the effects are ok - not too much at all.
Sounds very cool and chilled - those crystal fighters tunes are pretty crazy at times so i think you have taken them to a really cool place.
I reckon you could probably clip it a little to make it a bit more radio friendly (like thats what you are going for!)
I hear ya mate. TCM can be kinda wild with their chunes so I was thinkin that it'd be nice to hear a softer side of 'em. And prech the tech advice, I'll prolly go to do that when I go to remix the other song they offered the stems of. May also completely swap out my bass stuff too for something better. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
wicked bass, awesome atmosphere beat goes well and gives the tune a different emphasis. Dynamics are well used and it is well produced. Keep up the remixes :) it'll only get better :)
God Bless

Prech that Steve. Yeah, I'm finding that the more I do remixes the better they get due to how I'm experimenting with different ideas now. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
I love the minor notes you threw in here..the whole vibe switches when they come in. I like the idea of the swirling vocals as well. Kinda like dreams, and different ideas flowing through your head. Kick's great, snare's nice. I like the volume and fullness you provided with this track.
Yeah, those notes were done to echo the stylings of Snooze Button (you'll see what I mean whenever ya check it out). Kinda like I'm trying to capture this 'sleeping style' with these (either making a new genre or just putting my spin on fusing existing genres like trance, ambient, and tech-house). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
the best thing about a remix is that you dont expect it to be a "normal" track.....what I mean is you have more freedom to experiment with sounds and fx and I think you really nailed this one. I hadn't heard the original either, but this is great.
well done

Yeah, that's what makes 'em so appealing and so much fun. When I first started doin 'em I would try to do 'em in the classic sense (as if remixed on a turntable). Didn't really add anything to the tracks beyond effects, but this time I wanted to try my hand at pairing my style/stuff with theirs. And I think I like that better than the other method. At any rate, glad ya dug it. Later on!
Prech that mate. If you liked the vocals and such then go out and get the album (Divided By Night) and it'll have an insert that has a link to where you can get the stems to 2 of their songs. Later on!
Nice man!!! i really like the sound of the song and all of that. the only thing i think could be cleaned up was the vocals. they were a little off at times but overall well done!!!
Sorry about the delay (school stuff). Thanks mate. Yeah, I'm gonna haveta go back n iron this one out a little (mainly due to my dislike of the current bass I added). Vocally, I didn't touch them up at all (beyond volume tweeks for fades). Placement was done to give them a separate feel, though I'll keep my ear open for spots that are horribly outta place when I re-edit this. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Eeew!!! So that's interesting about the album, cuz I did a remix of CBC but didn't know that they had done that with the CD. Very cool. This is very chill. EEEEWWWW!!! love when the beat comes that was too sweet. EEEEEWWWW!!! This sounds like the chick from the song I remixed - LOOOOVVEE here then. I've never heard this song before, but I'm really diggin it! I would maybe bring your really sweet bass that I can hear up a bit, cuz it sounds rockin and .... OH SH!!! Nice work Donny - love the FX. This is great. Really enjoying this track. wow - LOL love the avatar.
Sorry about the delay (school stuff). Yeah, wasn't there a remix competition for 'Come Back Clean' done by Beatport.com earlier this year? I didn't participate, because I think it's bogus that they charge for the samples used in the comp.
As for the album and their stem offer I made mention of that in the forums right after I got the album (dunno how many people went for it though). I also have it mentioned in my "Listening To Right Now" part of my profile.
As for the vocals, I thought the same thing (same person singin), but actually it's someone different (Stephanie King Warfield sings on here, while Emily Haines sang for Come Back Clean).
As for this mix, I wanted to try something new and do a remix that had synths and stuff not done on the original (took it even further on my remix of Eshar's Still Tribal). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Cool stuff! I haven't heard the original, but this seems like a creative take on the song. I think the mix maybe does sound a bit muddy, but my ears hurt from mixing all day... Fun stuff!
Prech that mate. Yeah, I think that's what my problem was when I made that comment (hours & hours of mixing leaves one's ears kinda funky). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Sorry for the delay (school stuff). Haha, thanks. I dunno if I would call this my best work, but it does mark a first for me (what with the Nap Time combination). So I'm def heading in the right direction. Thanks for the time & words. Lates!

Description : 'The main point of this song is really about the frustrations of living in the overload of today's World of Tech. The consequences are impaired communication and that if you advance too far you end up diminishing what you had to start with, so you are way worse off.' Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.
Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.
Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.
