Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...Search Rating : 4.35
Description : This description comes with a bit of delay due to some mysterious purposes..hehe..but so it happened, boys and girls, that this is my second colab work with no other than Mr. Tumbleweed The Great (Ed Cunningham). He sent me a piece of music in a raw and unfinished condition, based on acoustic guitar work, supported with splendid percussion and some tasteful orchestral pads. So my task here was to add some of my own trumpery (haha) and to wrap all up into something what could be called a "finished product". As in the previous offer I granted my strings the dominant role, with viola taking the primary spotlight instead of usual violin which dominated in some of my previous works. Next I included some more piano parts than I usualy do (making Ed happy), some brass for the intro section, and even some bass and electric guitar touches. Sax has also been considered, but just didn't happen (lazy guy ^) , but I deliberately left out any kind of distinct synthesized sounds, wanting it to sound as classical as possible. I hope it turned out nicely in the end, so have a listen and any kind of comment would be appreciated.:)Also, hat's off to Bear for snuffing the Celtic influences (but probably not knowing who is behind this) and all my thanks to dear Ed for sharing his treasure with me !

Description : The idea to do something with the powerful voice of Delta blues musician Son House (1902-1988) came after I watched the documentary ‘It Might Get Loud’. Jack White (The White Stripes) played a record called ‘People grinning in your face’ by Son House. An a cappella song with handclapping; ’one man against the world’. You can find this magnificent fragment of the documentary on YouTube. Please watch it. Be awed. After that I listened to a lot of a cappella by Son House and was overwhelmed by ‘John the Revelator’. Even if you are not religious (like me) or familiar with the Bible (I am), this traditional gospel blues in a call and response-style is everything the blues is about. I realised it was almost ‘sacrilegious’ to put a drumbeat under this vocal track, but it gave me goosebumps the first time I tried it. So I composed a dramatic housetrack together with STAX (Hans Clevers) on sax. I took almost a month or two to split the original voicetrack in enough pieces to re-align them with the basic beat without losing the original feel. Where possible, I eliminated the handclapping because it was mostly out of sync. After I got the basetrack right, STAX played his solo. Afterward the grand piano, choirs and strings where added plus the noise-percussion. The project and mixing took approx. five months.‘John The Revelator’ (this is from Wikipedia) has been called ‘one of the most powerful songs in all of pre-war acoustic music ... [which] has been hugely influential to blues performers’. The song's title refers to the Apostle John as the author of the Book of Revelation. A portion of that book focuses on the opening of seven seals and the resulting apocalyptic events. In its various versions, the song quotes several passages from the Bible in the tradition of American spirituals. Son House recorded several a cappella versions of this song in the 1960s. His lyrics for a 1965 recording explicitly reference three theologically important events: the Fall Of Man, The Passion of the Christ and Resurrection. This is the version used here.

Description : Truly one of my greatest tracks. An intense, constantly changing psychedelic deep groove journey through reggae, rock, metal, funk, blues, electronica, deep chillout and more. Slow, fast, funky, beautiful, weird, fun plus a few more adjectives. Big arpeggiated strings, slide resonator guitar, electric guitars, detuned guitar playing massive funky basslines, wicked wah, squelchy synth bass + other synths, acoustic metal and brush drumkits, hip hop drum hits and no loops. Very complex structure and mix so maybe I haven't got it right. Full track is 13 mins 55, link is in comments. Let me know if you don't think it's as good as I do. Or better. Or self-indulgent rubbish. Now get ready to rock. And then write a 10,000 word essay describing it all...Search Rating : 4.35

Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).Search Rating : 4.35

Description : Probably the greatest banj-metal-hiphop-jazz joint ever. With lead saxophone, house bass, rock and metal guitars, Eastern banjo, jazz and hip hop drums and a tasty dose of drum and bass thrown squarely in your face. You can headbang or throw some body-poppin hippity-hoppity shapes to this mofo, for real. A lot of genres covered in 7 minutes so hopefully the time will fly by. And, yes, there really is acoustic banjo as a lead instrument on top of some crunching and crashing metal guitar and drums. Long live Banj Metal!Search Rating : 4.35
Description : This collab is with the OCR Boys, (Bobby & Steve), DJ's at KickinCountry101.com. I got the bass, acoustic tracks and drums and Bobbys vocals. I dusted off the harmonica, brought out the oldFender Strat, the pedal steel and the midi-guitar for the fiddle parts for this one. Not my usual fare but I had been in a few country bands back when country was cool in the 90's. A great Nashville sounding song about growing up on the great Tennessee River.Comments always welcome. - BilbozoSearch Rating : 4.35
Description : This is a latin based track, laid back and great for getting lost in it's melody. I just aquired a Godin "La Petrie" acoustic guitar and was anxious to hear how it sounded, so this is the first track I recorded with it. I tried to create a mood so people could visualize the setting. Hopefully it comes across as a vision of some utopian place in paradise. Big kudos for buddy Steve Bone (Slap Johnson) whom I always turn to for mood setting woodwind loops. All other instruments via Roland Midi GR-20 Guitar or loops.I hope you like it and of course comments always welcome.

Description : Hi ya,Well, here is my latest country tune...called "Welcome to Nashville". It is an instrumental. Maybe someone will add vocals to it? Also I added a screenshot of the 'ProTools' program I used to put the song together so you can see what it looks like with in a software program as completed.
The song is uptempo featuring an acoustic guitar for rhythm, also an electric rhythm guitar doing more of a vamping sound to add in fill to the overall rhythm.
Also has lead guitar which is quite busy throughout, and Drums, Bass, fiddle and pedal steel round out the song.
Hope you like it.
