that's a really nice comment, thanks a lot. And thanks for taking the time to listen to another track. I know I'm pretty amateur with this music thing, but it is so enjoyable to create and be creative. If I'm pleased with the result that's what matters most, but if someone else genuinely likes it too, all the better!! Cheers Zoot.

Awesome Zootman, great buttery vocal and nice chilled guitar playing. Nice mix on this one as well, the guitar almost sounds subtle against the vocal, good job for not over cooking the levels, sounds great ! :)

Thanks for the nice comment! I probably fluked the balance between vox and guitar given I had the two mics (1 condenser and 1 dynamic) positioned to try and capture both at once. Took a bit of compression to get on top of some of the peaks but yeah, the problem with the earlier version was a bit of clipping. I'm still very much learning the production stuff.

Excellent! It's absolutely perfect and your voice is awesome. I downloaded it just to listen as any other song. I was thinking of making a remix with some acoustic bass and just a subtle touch of synths, on the background (softer) keeping your track on the sonic foreground. Nothing like an acoustic git and a singer. Singer/songwriter music is my passion. It makes the performer vulnerable and exposed and the ability of that person to write now becomes very important as the song needs to hold it's weight with so little going on.

I think it sounds fine, the acoustic has some nice reverb on it. I usually always record the instruments and singing separately, for mixing purposes, it's easier I think. You did a great job for recording and playing all at once. Dig the lyrics too!

    Wayne

    Zootman
    Reply by Zootman

yeah a bit like finding yourself naked in public eh! Separate would definitely be easier for mixing etc but then when u sing you've got to work out where the words are supposed to go and i find that hard, specially like in this one with no real steady beat. guess its a trade off in spontaneity and other things. Anyways, i appreciate your time and comments, thanks.

Me personally I think there's two categories of producers if you want to call it on here. And I call myself a creator. But you and many others a real artist. Real producers of the industry. Excellent bravo. Well put together. Love the story line. So much music I listen to but I don't know how to create it. And this track and type is one of them. My main vibe is hip hop but tracks like these are the go to. To take my mind and soul away.
