Hey Alex....twilight zone, man this is very cool material...very reminiscent of a free form oscillating instrument in Native Instruments Reaktor5 (Metaphysical Function)but so much better because your playing it in real time, every time I listen to your music I feel some presence of Joe Zawinul, not in his corporeal form but more in his method, you use the synthesizer as a vehicle for space travel...next time you do something similar(if you have the inclination that is)send me the track and I'll put some acoustic bass on it if that's agreeable with you.....Invariably keyboard players always turn out to be the best composers and your no exception,it's like you have the universe in your hands....superb work! cheers Dave
thank you so much for listening to my music and all kind words! I was thinking a lot of creating something new and sending you some materials but still I will probably need more time with all this. I am busy (and struggling) with real life currently (I will try to explain it more precisely soon) and there is only a little space/energy for practising keyboard playing that is available. Opening the daw and fooling around there is always much easier than serious practising, needless to say. Over last weeks I was working on the transcription of one Keith Jarrett's piano piece from the 'Koln Concert' and want to record it on my old upright piano. This is very ambitious project haha.
Now, right at this moment it is a rainy Sunday early morning of very hot summer and I have some free time for working out the piano today, maybe I will message you at the end of a day when something interesting will come up!
Also soon or later I will make my version of the 'Pelican Feet' project but I need more time to get into funk playing. That's the challenge.
Thanks again for pointing Joe Zawinul! I discovered some of his older recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xufea3dGCjo and this is an excellent stuff to learn from. I really want to develop some stylistic bebop elements and acquire more licks. Bebop is always the basic and probably most important foundation. I will try to work transcribing and internalizing some of the patterns from that video sometime.
'Hot Coffe' was played on Roland JunoDi - I was inspired and finnaly bought better hardware synthesizer. Maybe I will be getting even more of the professional hardware equipment in the near future. I will write you if so! There are some classic synth sounds but also fine electric pianos presets there. I am happy because I do not need plugins to create. I manipulated a lot simply with cutoff and resonance knobs when playing but I can't open the external editor software to check out the actual internal settings. The reso knob was probably assigned to change some other parameters of the sound which make that preset quite complex and interesting when performed.
Thank you again for the nice words. I really appreciate that. I do not know if I really deserve the comparision with such amazing players but anyway I will try to work more intense and keep up with! Thank you for a great inspiration!
Super amazingly cool piece you've done here! Especially good since you played the synth part live, which is not always easy. As far as instrumental fusion goes, this sort of thing always gets me (in a good way). It is a good one to listen to today, as I just finished my regular struggle with my newest espresso machine... half the time, the steam comes out from around the bin for the ground instead of making a decent double. Frustrating to say the least. I am always more stressed when my coffee doesn't turn out right. Anyway, the synth work, and the drums are both tasty. This has just the right balance of chillness and tension. Great mild processing as well. Total fave!
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed reading your reply to my 'spiritual' comment on your track.
I whish I would post much more informative stuff on other's lm music sometime instead of giving apparently 'provocative' usual every-day comments. I am struggling with my body limitations a lot almost all the time now- the brain/mind is not really a big problem: noticing thoughts and observing them falling into space for a few seconds is enough.
I can see the similarities with your coffee machine operations haha because I am struggling with all my hardware synths as well in the same manner haha. Roland Juno Di has some really cool software sound editor but I can't use it on Windows7 for some reason. So just presets so far.
There's a lot of green and plants around here - how are the plants you mentioned earlier grow btw? I have only 3 plants of that sort this year to take care of (not sure we talk of the same plants haha). Just an experimental trial cultivation of mine this year hahaha.
Thank you a lot for the fave! So glad you enjoyed my work!
At some point of the future I will add male vocals to this one.
Nice feel about this piece, don't really know why but it just grabs you, making you want to listen to the piece, love the space you have left in the track mate...No complaints at all, just respect for pulling this type of track off so well.. Everything from this end sounds spot on...Fav...Peace n Respect....Mosaic...magical work....
Thanks a lot for your nice words. I probably have missed a few of your latest productions (but I will listen to them soon!).
I am happy you liked the space on the track - I always try to keep some amount of air and usually my mixes are quite different from the other stuff posted here (also regarding to instrumentation).
This piece is simply the result of playing with new synth Roland Juno Di. I am still looking forward to create more music like this (but simply lack of time). Maybe later this summer...
There's a place for vocals/spoken words even (I will add them soon).
Thank you again for kind review and adding this one to your favourites. It is appreciated.
I think i found a cool concept for some -vocal art- for it
but it is not easy to produce without .... (and if i would do, then you have 150 plays only from me) :)
Just connected the ending of this as totally Ummagumma.
Still sounds wonderful ... this not Ummagumma though Granchester Meadows was my favourite chillout track for many misspent years ... think I'll go visit Youtube before bed.
Thanks again for some nice inspiration. I was never a huge fan of PinkFloyd but some of my productions were compared to music from 70's as I am using a lot of vintage electric piano (I do not have a real one though) and old styled syntesizers (again: just plugins).
I just played some single pieces from Ummagumma but I will listen to the entire album today later for sure. Thanks again for pointing this,
This is an enjoyable track here. I see you implanted a lot of jazz elements into this track. It's definitely an interesting listen and makes my mind wonder off. It would be interesting to know what your original intentions for this track was.
Regardless of that, I have to say I really enjoyed this one and will be on the look out for more like this from you!
so basically my very intention was only to make a new track. My previous looperman one was kind of electro-styled (with JoeCramer's vocals) so I decided to go even further with the exploration of my new hardware synth this time. This track was made entirely (except drums) using only one sound source (Roland Juno Di) but I started with very simple drumming and tried many different synth presets. The basic idea was: 120 bpm and the key of F (no chord changes). It was recorded from the keyboard in a real time but of course with a lot of placing/replacing of all recorded single elements inside the composition afterwards (but the main synth lead was played in a real time without any placing/replacing manipulations). At some point I replaced simple drums by some excellent EZdrummer jazz performances (which is probably the only 'jazz' element here).
So this is the process. There's no need to quantize notes anymore (I did that a lot when using plugins for piano or electric piano). There's no even MIDI in there (me happy yay! haha)
thanks a lot for listening and nice comments,
best, alex
drums are EZdrummer jazz performances, all the rest was played on Roland Juno Di. There's no virtual synths needed anymore (only some plugins for effects) so I can create much longer tracks now and work easier without any high CPU usage problems.
This one is quite simple played but with lot of sound-itself manipulations (mainly cutoff/reso).
Thanks again for checking this one out and some nice comments. As always it is much appreciated.
Alex
First i read some comments. Then i followed the link silverman posted. Then i came back and listen. And you had to do some very special, after the listen to this extremly cool Ken Nordine.
AND - You done it.
This is very experimental and i mostly enjoy things like that, if they not tooooooooo jazzy.
Maybe i should try to do some words in this Ken Nordine style for you :) ........
firstly I am really happy that you liked this one. That only thing which makes it so jazzy is drumming. I used EZdrummer jazz performance but of course the whole thing will sound very different with other drums. The outro thing is already present throughout the track as a background - I only removed the drumming and main synth lead.
Ken Nordine is very cool indeed and silverman's point was very inspiring (but quite unexpected). I didn't realize this weird synth jam will open new possibilities.
I am open-minded to whatever will come up on the spoken word area and am looking forward to collaborate again!
thanks for listening and leaving some interesting comment. man this is some real synth madness in here, it's entirely recorded in a real time. how you can say I should take off that synth, it makes entire piece. maybe you simply do not like my playing. that's ok. it's actually more playing with cutoff and resonance filters than the actual playing. also mix is not loud at all. I understand this on is not really even close to so called mainstream.
but thanks again!
I spent some moments this morning listening to Ken Nordine's World Jazz. never heard of him before. Thanks for the links and some nice inspiration.
About 5 years ago I met a danish guy and we managed to create some amount of music even (he was singer/songwriter). He pointed Dan Turell (danish writer) and this song as an inspiration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77jiPMXR3Aw but we never really finished our spoken word project. Anyway Ken Nordine sounds way better than this... thanks again!
Weird whacky and wonderful!!!
Absolutely love it.
Instantly it reminded me of a guy called Ken Nordine who sounds nothing like this whatsoever but something about the mood the space the aroma took me straight to the guy..
If you haven't heard of him he does spoken word jazz heres his Wiki ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Nordine
and of course you can type his name into youtube.
Great piece you've done there and such a wonderful change from the norm.
I am really happy you liked it. For sure it is apparently different from the usual stuff posted here every day so at first I was not sure if people will really like it. Thanks again for kind words and links. It is appreciated.

==============
Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …
Description : I had to go in on this track. This is a future bass, electrofusion song. I posted the full version here full the Looperfam because you guys give me sooooo much support. I can never thank you all enough.
Description : A spoopy song, early for Halloween. This was a collaboration with Micky, who did most of the work.
A musical realization of a poem by Thomas Hardy
Idea: Spearcarrier
Voices: Spearcarrier & Micky
Music: Micky
Genre: We don't know yet. Suggestions welcome. LOL
Description : Messing around with my midi keyboard (I am no pianist as you will hear). Just a bunch ideas put together with guitar and keys. Don't miss the end :-) it shows the obvious lack of inspiration to find a decent ending of the so called musician! This track is work in progress all ideas are welcome!

lock everything together....
