Saw you on line so i thought i'd drop in. Yeah i've already reviewd this track but who says we can't stop by more than once? It's a brilliant piece and i personally think i might even stop by and give it a third or fourth review. Kind of reminds me of something from Pink Floyds "Division Bell" album which i happen to think is a bloody good album. You've pulled a masturfull mix off here and grabbed my attention without even having to stitch a squid to your face.
I'm just going to kick back and chill to the rest of this piece then i'm off to superglue some crabs to my nuts.
    Cool trumpet by the way.

This is why you are a looper legend Dave, pure listening pleasure. After about 30 seconds I knew I was going to dl this one so thanks for sharing! Sounds great, mix is great, all the instruments are so defined and clean. I just made the move to a new imac, logic, ableton setup and I may be using Ableton more and more to mix. You seem to have Ableton pretty figured as far as mixing and mastering go, it really does sound fantastic Dave. The horns are a great touch, glad you added them and the rain effect was nice.

Excellent job Dave, you always come up big, this one is sweet!

Ah PJB! I saw you pop up in the corner so I thought i'd drop in and check out your latest feature.
I thought it was going to be a bit abstract when I heard the birds at the start but then it just rolled nicely into a piece of music that to my ears is a little bit like Pink Floyd vs Jose Padillia.
An excellently put together production if I may say so myself.

Sweet track here PJB. (Excuse the acronym) You've definitely been one of the top professionals on here as far as standards go for a final polished "sound" for you tracks. Everything is as clear as the rain. Agree with bear on this, real instrumentation is important and although i do most of my works electronically/digitally I still care about it's outcome. Would like to at least to learn to play piano, by far my favorite instrument. This a really great track though man, wish i had half the gear you guys had! I'd be busting out tracks at this quality too. The title is a fitting representation as well, and the music is the perfect advocate. Intelligent stuff here, respect.

-And you cracked me up a little with your post on MrFunk's thread just now realizing I am Neobane aka Neoenigma aka many aliases really lol And just so you know, the respect for you and any other long time members of this site has always been there. If i have not apologized for my adolescence in my "Neoenigma" days, i apologize now sincerely. As we all learn from growing up, and that's all i really needed to experience in the first place. And at that time, i was not in good place in my life. So apologies for the disrespect on all those pointless threads. peace!

    Hello Dave,

I have always seen this song pop up on the featured section curious to play it but, something I was holding me back. Almost as if something was telling me to wait. I am glad I did because this great collaboration hit me strongly at the right moment I needed to hear it. I got that weird feeling of a "known mystery". The way this song starts and slowly wraps around the listeners ears, traveling far out there in wonder of the lost and empty, blinded to real matter I now see. The guitars are very well produced along with that percussion. The beating heart. The mellow pads and horns, to me represented the ripple of my life flow. All the elements flowed as one and that's a hit guys. The air we breathe truly is precious. Thank you for sharing this with us. You really did create an experience worth realizing. Stay strong wise man.

    Peace,

you take your time developing each section - allow the listener to sit with something for a while and you develop everything in a smooth well-integrated way. and you hold a mood, even as you add colors, variation. some of the reasons I like your stuff. could go on and on, not even mentioning strong technical level. criticism? maybe there is a more subtle way to transition from intro section to main section. all the respect in the world for your work. cheers. There is nothing better than listening to REAL instruments being PLAYED by people with TALENT. While many of the "computer playing musicians" fail to realize this, your work here graphically illustrates why live instrumentation is so important.

This is beautiful on many different levels, food for the soul and the mind. A tip of the hat to you and Detleft for an amazing collaboration. Keep playing those instruments guys.

Ever since I was small I always wanted to play some kind of string instrument, whether it be a Fretless Bass or guitar. My fingers are just to dang small lol. I could play a little guitar but not at this level.

I guess that's why I went to playing the piano instead. I have to thank my grandfather for that, he was an awesome guitarist and pianist. This composition right here is truly amazing. It deserves to be playing in some Jazz Radio Station.

    Hi Dave
Totally loving everything about this beautifully textured atmospheric creation you and Zappo have conjured up, real magical performances from you both.
The production and mix is splendid and the playing is just sublime.

This partnership is a true blessing as you two create some awesome music as a team. The question now is what to do with it? I suggest you look up Sentric music on the web as this lot are looking for music for commercials and film etc.. This is right up that alley...

    Cheers, Slap...

Hey Steve..thanks man!..sometimes I think about this very subject, what to do with it!..the music that is,and film has always seemed an avenue I'd like to explore..I know I've got the music in me(though a crash course in the fundamental philosophical tenets of Classical music wouldn't hurt either! lol).......man I'm just happy that I've got guys like you and Detleft(zappo)around me to keep me sane and give me inspiration......thanks buddy,I'll definitely have a look at Sentric....cheers mate, you have no idea how much you've helped me musically over the last four years. Dave

Description : A track I did with a friend ages ago. I play the guitar and he sang and wrote the lyrics. The lyrics came mostly from headlines in the newspaper that sunday. Recorded using a crappy old microphone direct into cubase with a few overdubs

Description : Just an acoustic/piano piece I threw together a few nights ago when coming home from university. My brother and I were doing some acoustic music together in my room, just having fun; came out with this; I immediately got on my DAW and recorded it before I forgot how ti went lol. Hoping to get some strings on it soon as well as some vocals from the bro! :P In the meantime, enjoy this instrumental.

Description : Here's a lil' acoustic instrumental I never wrote words to. Used a Guild acoustic guitar mic'd with an AKG C214 and my trusty ol' Yamaha MOX8 for other instruments (excluding shaker - that was real ;). You can find the guitar loops to this song on my profile page. Maybe one of you looperpeeps can come up with something for words on this. Otherwise, enjoy le moosic :3

Description : This is an acoustic cover of the song "Come As You Are" by David Crowder. I recorded, mixed, and mastered this one in two days! Almost done burned me out haha! Hope you enjoy!

My older brother does the lead vocals and I do everything else, from instrumentation to harmonies. No vocal-editing whatsoever in this one. The guitars were all one-take recordings. Updated the audio - I added tambourine hits in the 2nd and 3rd choruses; just helps make for a more moving song.

Description : It gives me great pleasure to upload this track I did with Richie. Usually we work "backwards", with him building a track around my vocs, but this time his instrumental came first. I love it's encouraging and motivational lyrics and as always Richie's care in making EVERYTHING perfect! :-) Totally didn't know what genre to put it in. Enjoy.

Description : There were two separate tracks in work, but who knows why I got tired with them and then decided to merge them (or at least what left from them) into one piece hence they originate out of same musical purpose. No worries...no world war was ment here, except my recent personal one...haha...and you don't want to know about it.:) It's not real etude by any means, yet it's quite alot about practicing...practicing...

Description : This is my attempt at the one-hour challenge for LM (finished at 57 min 48 sec). I had to mix/master on the go and this was the result. Some bad chords here and there that I did my best to conceal, one-takes on guitar and piano and used an awesome acapella from a1000times, who wrote the words that Dikaiko sang over. I really like her voice. Anyhoo yea, I like this one a lot so probably gonna come back to this in the near future. Comments welcome.

I got the acapella here: https://www.looperman.com/acapellas/detail/7656/marauder-feat-dikaiko-by-a1000times-132bpm-dance-acapella

EDIT: This track has been updated. I think I'm going to call it finished :)

Description : I put this under acoustic even though I did use a couple midi tracks. I felt they sounded acoustic enough to put the track in that category. Suppose it could be chill out as well, however you want to label it, do so. I used an Indian flute and an electric guitar sounding plugin with some tremolo added along with acoustic guitar, mandolin and harmonica. Nothing too complicated here and I felt it sounded good enough to upload so enjoy!

Description : This track contains only free loops from several Looperman artists. Had to thank once again the excellent loops to their owners - i think the result is one of my best tracks ever, plus have a slight spaghetti western like feeling which is cool ... Hope you will like it too. :)
