Description : Trancey spacey filtery goodness. The synth sound is a Reaktor patch but I have added a gated filter and a resonator as well.

Description : I have finished recording one shots of all of the Juno-D kits, because you can never have too many Roland drum sounds eh. Anyway here is a very basic drum loop, sequenced with ReDrum.

Description : Another psytrance FM lead, this time embedding the stutter into the pattern instead of using an effect on the loop to make it stutter. I think this way gives more control and is a little more musical. Sound design experiments continue.

Description : This is my 303 through a DS-1 distortion but making a bassline instead of an acid line. The key is a little weird but it is basically F sharp - although it might work with F or E too.

Description : I was lucky enough to score the Native Instruments Techno/Trance bundle of software just for owning a Novation Launchkey Mk3. I am pretty impressed with the ease that these NI tools push out epic trance sounds. This is literally the first thing I recorded and I only added my own reverb to the sound. See you at the festival!

Description : ReBuzz is a new version of the old Buzz tracker software. I made this kick in a few minutes with just stock devices in the tracker. If you like trackers this is fun software - takes me all the way back to my Amiga. I did do a little cleaning up of the recording in Ableton, but the sound itself is all Buzz.

Description : This arp from my MC-505 is a little different because it has somewhat off kilter timing. It sits in the mix well though. Good for trance or melodic techno.

Description : This is a simple patch made with a cymbal drowned in reverb and reversed. However, I added subtle saturation and filtered echoes to the sound to give it more texture. A nice riser that will sit in most mixes easily.

Description : Another MC-505 loop, this time paired with my RD-9 kick to give the kick more punch than the 505 can generally do on its own. A slight bit of fuzz mixed into the top loop sounds but not on the kick, which is clean and punchy.

Description : This VST (RF Bassline) does not really sound like a real 303. However, it can sound exactly like ReBirth, which is a very good thing for those of a certain vintage! My first track that ever got played in a nightclub was made with ReBirth so there is a strong nostalgic feeling for that unfortunately discontinued software.
