Wow, what an intro. The time sig choices you have made, have enabled my head to twitch for a few minutes, but I got over it as the song settled in with that piano and some cool spatial sounds giving you that acid-like experience sort of like Mushroom does. This is a very well-creative composition you have made. I had to listen twice, fav'd
Cool Mate. I like how the early part has a Drudge or Sledge metal feel to it. But it builds and ebbs, so cool mate! 2:00 on is a nice tone on the high to mid-high rage. love the double bass drums after that section.
This recording is the result of polished studio work ... obviously we play much rougher and dirtier live than this ... and a completely different kind of metal ... I'll show you:
The "Neanderthal" has the right idea! I love those two guys from Striking Daggers, they have been good sources of info from the Hip Hop World. That being said, this is freaking insane and freaking awesome mate. Did Shatner just say scuse me while I kiss this (guy) I mean sky...!!!!! Great mix, and very creative, nice work!
Very cool, I respectfully disagree with my esteemed friend Danke, I like that synth solo sound, but then again I am a synth player and may have a bias, and have done squelched sounds like that in the past. Overall a nice chill tune, well done!
Thanks a lot Steve! I didn't know Quiet Sun :o band from the 70s right? But I gave them a quick listen and I'll take it as a compliment :)
Thanks as always, you da man!
Pretty hard to do ambient and not reference Brian Eno (One Brain) in some way. Thanks for the links, I listened to both, wasn't familiar with either though I have listened to a reasonable amount of Eno's ambient stuff (Ambient 4 and Before/After Science) were a bit of a fav. Thanks for the listen and commented man, much appreciated.
I think you were baiting all of us with your master guitar and synth playing ;-). This sounds like a fun jam that you did. I used to do stuff like that back in the day for practice and sometimes those jams could turn into songs. Whether you were manually overriding the sounds or Lone rangering the drum parts. I mean playing all those instruments you were literally playing five on one and taking the self guided tour. All you needed was a singing soprano you old downstairs DJ. ;-)
You're right, this is kind of a Jam session with Myself.
I think every now and then we should just "let er rip".
for instance I would have enjoyed a whole track of the Guitar
that you did on your last track but... You sprinkled teasers
of the Guitar throughout the track (Cool & tasteful). I wondered how some of your Guitar takes that didn't appear on the track sounded, awesome I'm sure.
Thanks for giving my track a listen and for your continued encouraging comments.
Fit Like! Far Hiv Ye Bin? Izotope Relay will give U that space you need.
I have been experimenting with Valhalla Supermassive for the depth side of things. But I like the mix actually as it is and I am not sure that will improve what you are going for. There is a bit of Eno-Fripp feel going on. (Index of metals era). Bonnie tune mate!
Thanks for your comms, Actually this track means more to me cuz it was one of my Dad's favs that I produced, I miss him terribly but glad you enjoyed this track too
Just read BOD's synopsis, and totally concur. this is a great example of filtered deep house. But also as a cool background at a trendy 5star hotel bar. The bass is the star in this track. This is the kind of song that lifts your spirits and makes u feel better after you have listened to it. great job on this one, sad I missed it when it came out!
In response to BOD's comment, I completely agree with you on your approach. My music theory prof used to say learn the rules, then break them all you want. As long you can explain why you did it and it makes musical sense. This makes musical sense, good work.
Thanks for listening mate and the warm feedback - and btw Ive equally learned a lot from your many posts and tips and willingness to share your knowledge and experience
Dark and foreboding, just how I like it. There is still room for dubstep to become more creative. After disco was emaciated and popized by the rec companies. It fell deep underground in Chicago, Detroit New York, Berlin, London, and Manchester. It became a whole other animal. You are at the forefront of being that innovator mate! Do it!!
Man, if I thought I had any impact on the direction of dubstep, I totally would. But I know my fame goes no further than the featured list on Looperman. And even then, it's faded from what it was back in the day. Nah, I just make wubby bass tracks with a metalhead background. When I can actually get into it, that is. I've been having a hard time staying with a track long enough to see it through. I have about 40 starts, and none finished in the last year. Everything from metal to cinematic, to dubstep, to some freaky ass industrial noise experimentation shit.
Anyhow, one of these days maybe, huh?
As always Mr. C. I look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your take on things.
very chill, beautiful meditating sounds. I like the percussions Grandfather's clock-like precision. For some reason, this reminded me of a Japan (David Sylvain) tune but I really couldn't reference it. Good Tune!
very cool, 1:16 is an awesome reverse sound. I like how you repeat the lyrics, but filter them. great use of the studio as an instrument mate, well done.
