Yeah mate, I def feel the emotion behind this. The piano & choral stuff are keen. Dunno how I feel about the strings (kinda detract from the overall groove of the mix, ya know?). Otherwise its pretty solid. Lates!
Man! 115 plays, 15 downloads, and not one single review. Come on folks, that's lazy & lame (shakes head).
Pretty interesting key treatment here. I like the way the leads & pads interweave & play with eachother (also dig the background effected synths, nice touch). And though the beats're cool I'd suggest lowering their volume a bit and maybe slightly restructure them, because as is they sound more like Hip-hop than R&B (IMO). Beyond that this was a pretty groovy joint. Lates!
Been a while since I swung by yer page so I figured that I'd see what you've been up to with your productions/compositions.
Play 2 now...
Cool ethnic drums going on here (you could add World to the genre list mix too). And those vox sound so familiar (they remind me of Chuck D from Public Enemy). The only thing I'd think to suggest is to maybe ditch the female vox (as they don't seem as cool as the main male stuff). The funk is def strong with this one (waves hands, not in that in-front-of-the-nose way, but in that like-I-don't-care way, haha). Keep bangin on mate. Lates!
Hey Donnie, thanks man..interesting comment about the female vox and I agree with you, initially I thought it was female too!all the vocals were generated in Zero-G's Vocal Forge Vst..you can make whole songs etc,I was trying to get some sort of different vocal continuity happening from the samples within it,but the selection was limited and they come in various pitches,I'm still not sure as to the gender ! lol...cheers mate Dave :)
WOW, great Transformers-esque intro sounds here mate! You don't have that avail as a loop on here by any chance? Would be great to play with, me thinks. Though I kinda LOL @ the following synth build from around 0:20 - 0:34 because it reminds me of the Price Is Right wheel sound (or is it the one from Wheel of Fortune, can't remember now, but you know what I mean, right?). I also dig the soft vocals ya have going on. This is a pretty serious tune mate. Gonna haveta save/fave it. Thanks for sharing. Lates!
If you think about the loop that sounds like Transformers, no problem I will send you, these are two loops that I have merged together!
lol...Price Is Right this is like a gameshow TV series in usa, something like that, right!
Well, thanks mate for review, fav.,and dload ,much appreciated!
This is some mellow happy hip-hop. Kinda comin from abstract place (like I usually do with my HH stuff). I'm betting you'd be hard pressed to find an MC on here with the gumption to jump on this track (odd considering the number of HH-heads on here, ya know?). I might be wrong though (kick it out there & see what happens). Anyways, I'm diggin the Pizzi (?) sequence and bass the most on here. Cheers!
A lot of hip hop mc here, spit on a typical underground beat, you know, something like Coneyisland and Yeshintae style beat! this sounds a bit commercial, and few people here dig this style (though I have 35 dloads on this track,so someone surely dig this track)!I dunno I feel uncomfortable to ask people for vocals, something like "this beat begs for vocals!"lol... hell no!
I kinda agree with Nuada, they are a little distracting at first. Though as the track progresses it adds a very nice live-in-concert feel to the song. I think this a really good working draft, though I would recommend re-recording the vocals for the final master (also consider getting some back-up singers to join you). Beyond that the track is superb (course Bil's a guitar wiz & the drums are keen too). Keep bangin on. Lates!
Interesting combo mate. Kinda wish there was more horn action though. And despite the sorta sad vocals this would make for some good road-trip music. 'Specially for the foothills of the Appalachians. Cheers!
I absolutely love the slap bass on here. And the sax is cool too (though I'm thinkin that it might be comin out a bit too hot in the main mix). I'd also consider bumping up the drums a little as they seem sorta subdued as is. Beyond that, you can def never go wrong with this type of fusion (as they seem to go hand-in-hand like some Reece's cups). Cool stuff chica. Lates!
Cool key treatment ya got here. Very spaced-out (in a sci-fi sorta way). As for the name, it reminds me of my track, Blood Pressure (has a similar vibe too, but the beat isn't as traditional as this one is). Sorry if that seemed like a shameless self-promotion (wasn't my intent). Just found it oddly similar is all. And you can never go wrong with getting a strong sounding name when you use medical terminology (even the crazy Latin stuff sounds cool, like, say, Vena Cava). Speaking of which, I think its a very apt name, because of the way the bass sounds all squishy like a pulse. Anyways, nicely done mate. Lates!
Thanks bruv, names are hard to come by these days that catch peoples ears. THough, have to say this is an old track and forgot it exsisted lol. Self-promotion is fine :P
I'm thinkin that this is Drum-step. Course, as I may've mentioned before, I'm not an well-informed consumer of either Drum or Dub-step. The bass is def dead-on from what I know about it. And the only thing I could think to suggest is to bump up that "whoa-whoa" sounding synth you've got on here (as it sound killer if it was louder). The synths on here remind me of NASA stuff for some odd reason. Anyways, cool stuff mate. Lates!
Hey man, thanks for checking the tune, this tunes instruments were actually from another track. Though it came out nice, there's a bit too much bass with the kick being so low and long. I'll check out a tune of yours mate.
THanks again,
STeve
Isn't finished ay? What else do you have planned for it aside from mastering? I'm thinkin it sounds pretty good as is. Though if I were to suggest anything it'd be to add some stuff to the higher ends (like some bells similar to what The Prodigy did on that one song on the Invaders Must Die album, or bump up the levels of that sine pad {?} and possibly accentuate it by adding some soft choral Oohs coming in slightly behind them). Otherwise this is pretty jammin mate (the bass & bass changes were my fav bits of it). Lates!
I mean track is solid (that's why I upload this track on looperman).. ! , but this track need to "breathe",you know!
somehow is embarrassing, that in 20 days I was not able to do something useful with this tack!I will definitely work on this track, but frankly
I do not want to rush!
Thank you DV for review and suggestions!
Sorta reminds me of what would've happened if Depeche Mode had connected with Jim Henson's sound crew (this would fit perfectly in a movie like Labyrinth or Time Bandits). Listening to this again I can tell ya put alot of time & energy into this baby. Its refreshingly clear. Going to def have to save/fave this one. Great stuff mate. Lates!
I'm definitely digging the abstract nature of this. This is like a mix of Cinematic, Abstract, & Noise all rolled into one. Would be great to go behind a digital art exhibit, ya know? Interesting stuff mate. Lates!
Coming from part one of this I was interested to hear how this progressed. Pretty same vibe going on, though I'm digging how this has an almost Sci-fi feel to it. The only thing I could think to suggest for this is to add some more light percs. Also think that maybe having some inaudible vocals of people speaking somewhere in it would add tremendous dynamic to the piece (think of what Robert Miles did on his album Organik, the song Separation, if I remember right). Otherwise, this is a pretty cool journey into sonic workings. Lates!
In fact, these two pieces (Introspection 1 & 2) were part of an electronic art music exhibition at Universidad de los Andes. It was part of the final project for one of my composition classes in college. I made them that way and then focused on other works at the time, that´s why it sounds kinda raw at some points.
Thanks for the review mate!!
Yeah, this is a pretty cool tune. As for what sergio said about 'repetitive' it is, but it isn't. I'm thinking that if you want some more variation on this I'd consider throwing in 1 or 2 more stops like you had @ around 2:55). Also, try dropping out certain elements here & there (like the drums from this one spot, the bass from the next, etc.). Lastly, I would highly recommend adding some pads to this (as that would make this complete, me thinks). Otherwise, decent stuff mate. Lates!
Interesting little teaser ya threw at us mate. About vocals, what kind were you looking for (male/female, singing/rapping, language, etc.)? Of the stuff on here I'm thinking that AnomalyJ's stuff might really suit this (something soulful, ya know?). Only thing I could think to suggest is to add more to the bass on the low-end (like copy the saw-like synth, drop it down by 2 octaves to, say C2, and go with a sound font like a sub-hum or something). Otherwise, this is a pretty nice foundation track ya got going. Lates!
Dunno why, but this kinda reminds me of a mix between Linkin Park & The Fray. And truth be told, I'm thinkin that this should remain as is (somehow think that vocals would detract from its coolness). I'd also like it if this were longer, as I feel that it has real huge potential. Kinda thinkin that it could morph into some sweet 5-10 min Trance mix (all it'd need then are some sweeping pads). Beyond that this baby is good to go. I just wanna sit back n listen to it. Cheers!
Just sounds like it needs to be remastered. Pretty crazy the way its comin outta my speakers. Makes me think that its being played underwater. Keep workin on it mate. Lates!
This is pretty cool mate. Though I'd recommend that ya practice this a few more times & re-record it as there are some ruff spots (the twangy vibrations). I'd also consider throwin on some basic percussives to it (namely bongos & tablas). Beyond that this was a nice rough starter ya cranked out for us. Keep bangin on. Lates!
Man 72 plays, 5 downloads, 1 favorite, and not a single review. That's lazy and lame people (shakes head). Now let's check out the tune.
Interesting stuff mate. Though TBH Hardstyle aint a genre that I normally get into (once in a while its fun to listen to & play with). And I dunno if its something on my end or if there was something funny on your end when you recorded/rendered this, because it sounds as if its coming through a loose connection (really evident out of the left speaker). Maybe its just the way you mixed it (and added distortion effects to it?). Dunno, but its something ya might wanna look into mate. Anyways, besides the funky playback this was pretty cool. Keep bangin on. Lates!
Pretty cool tune mate. The synth treatment ya made def fits with the acapella. Nice Euro-pop vibes going on here. One thing that I'd recommend is going back & watching your levels on the mix-down as it sounds like you've got a fair amount of red going on (some clipping too I suspect). Just FYI and all that. Keep bangin 'em out. Lates!
Cheers for the comments..well appreciated...yep your right about the levels especially the vocal..it's well overcooked on the version uploaded on here by Farisha and the mix I have aon here is pretty much raw and never bothered to spend a few hours tweaking blah. ;)
Yeah, I get the whole 'Traveling' thing because the way this starts makes me think of a train speeding through the countryside. Kinda wish the Railway system over here hadn't been left to flounder (would be nice if flying & driving weren't the main options, ya know?). One of the reasons that I'd like to swing by Europe some time, because it'd be great to be able to spend a weekend just exploring the different places. Falling back on the track, I dig the groove, but kinda wish there was more going on at the higher end (more lead sequences, another softer pad, etc.). Otherwise this is a decent foundation ya got here. Lates!
Hey man! Thanks for checking out yet another of my tracks! :-) Yeah trains are a great way to see and travel through the various countries! Know exactly what you mean! Glad you liked the track and it's general vibe :-) I was going for a more minimalistic vibe that is why it doesn't have as many elements but I agree with you! I'll put your advice into use when remixing it or reworking it! Thanks for everything man! :-) Have a nice day!
Sorry to hear about your grandma mate. I know where you're coming from because mine had Alzheimer's before she passed. She was still there, but her mind was mostly gone.
As for the tune...
This sounds oddly familiar (parts of the key treatment). Did you remix this or did someone else do a remix of this or...? Though the remix part makes sense because I could see this being thrown into a wicked Drum&Bass mix (has that flavor to it IMO). As is, it has an interesting vibe (not yer typical Trance fashion). Makin me think that it belongs to some sub-genre that I have yet to stumble upon. Suggestive-wise, I'd mostly fall back on what I was saying about the whole Drum&Bass remix. Otherwise this is pretty cool. Lates!
Hey man! Thanks for the cool review and nice words about my grandma! I appreciate it and yes I know how you felt too! As for the track sounding familiar I had it featured on Mystic Deejay's Summer Nights Trance Compilation he made last year with tracks from Looperman artists so maybe you heard it there! Glad to hear you liked my track! :-) Got some new ones that I'll be posting soon! Yeah it's like a sub genre of Trance cause I like to make tracks with lots of influences so you are right! Thanks again man! :-)
After reading the description I find that the song is very apt. It has a very sickly sweet, yet melancholy vibe to it (a coy smile, a certain glance, playful flirtation that will never go anywhere beyond that). And in a way this has a very Cinematic quality about it (in fact its reminding me of this one movie I saw last year, sadly I can't recall its name). Very nicely done mate. Def saved/faved. Lates!
Thanks for the review. : ) When I don't do hip hop, I tend to do more cinematic stuff just cause that's what else I'm kinda good at. Thanks again: glad you got all that from it. : )
Interesting slow groove approach ya took here (and the panning effects ya did were keen). This sorta reminds me of a mix between Hendrix's National Anthem & Satriani's Hill of the Skull. Only thing I could think to suggest is adding more to the low-end (bass mainly). Otherwise, nicely done mate. Lates!
