on RufeLess - Dad by teamrufeless
heartfelt indeed....really like this one Lee....Your vocal is the star here...but must say you put together some thoughtful lyrics and delivered them like a pro.....like the interaction between the vocal and the guitar....really well done and I know its not an easy accomplishment.....nice to see a song delivered with all the dynamics intact too.....just a great job Lee....really did enjoy this one.....Ed

Hi Ed Thank you so much for your comments really appreciate it, like you i spent the summer doing other things and have returned with a more simple and honest approach, well thats what i was aiming for and your words have made me feel that i am on the right track. as for my comments on your track i completely understand i was just pointing out that your tracks always seem to bring out the lyrics from me, i have since completed the whole thing and should i get the music done ill point you at it . have a great weekend Lee

on Im Walking Away by ScottFranco
yes...indeed a bit different for you pair of talents (and kudos to the vocalist for such a fine job)...I have tried to vary my own approach several times but I find when I pick up the old guitar my tracks end up sounding like something I did before...I`ll work on it some more....You guys just sound good whatever you decide to do Scott...lots of variation here and I like the way you placed the vocal nicely up front where it is clear/distinct.....keep on Scott & Franco.....your talent is showing again.....Ed

Thanks much, Ed. We always enjoy reading your comments on our tracks. I think what really helps us with our array of genres is the fact that we both have our roots in several different styles of music, not to mention there are two minds at work. We have also compared notes on artists we like, and we have similar musical idols and styles.

Again, your words are very encouraging and we appreciate them.

Ciao,
Franco & Scott

on Super Saiyan by Felix
that changeup around 0:45 is really effective...its not a genre I would be a good source of feedback on but you obviously do it very well....nice job on the production...notice you brick walled it but still were able to leave the main dynamics intact....well done....Ed

Felix replied 13th Oct 2013 - 12 years ago
First of all, thank you for the feedback. I spent a little while on the change up, so I'm glad you noticed it. While mixing this track down, it didn't sound like it would be brick walled, but it was. I do need to work on that. Overall, I am glad you liked it. Thanks again for the feedback.

on Long Lonely Nights by beerling1970
one of your best beerling...carries the title theme really well...I have been absorbing a few lessons on the Loop today and I really like the quite minimal appraoch you have going here where every instrument plays a distinct part in the overall vibe....this is thoughtful stuff..creativity at its best (which is one of the reasons I love hanging out here wher I get a chance)......Ed

on Platform 1b ft Behnam Zandi DeciBel by srbrown7
Hey Steve...just a note of thanks for the comments on Cloud Dancer...I went over to my music PC...muted the bass track (I used a simple synth bass on the version posted) and plugged in my old JazzBass which I am much more comfortable with...but tend to walk around a lot on....and did some different bass licks...big difference....I`ll leave the one I did posted ...but I`m slapping myself on the forehead for not letting myself do my old bass player things....thanks again...Ed
srbrown7
srbrown7 replied 7th Oct 2013 - 12 years ago
Hi Ed, thanks for the nice comments on Platform. Yes Behnam has really shined on this one and to be perfectly honest probably didn't give it his best shot which is scary! Behnam just played his part alongside my orignal posting of this song and sent the guitar work via email! No worries with the bass feedback. As I work alone its easy to forget all that I have at my disposal, or alternative approaches, or I find I get bored with a piece and go for a quick finish.
Kind regards
Steve

on Unrequited love -Original Song- Soleil Lune by SoraSolitudine
Hi SoleilxLune....you know enough about music to convey some very pleasant Sunday evening listening over my way...it does have a touch of the meloncholy...but the lighter sounds & high strings keep it floating just above becoming sad (if you had added a cello it would have really come across much sadder)...I like it the way it is...not too meloncholy...but certainly thoughtful....You did very well...keep on doing it....Ed

Aww! Thank you very much for your words.
Well, I think that this one is very (extremely simple ._. )
I've not been able to compose these last weeks.
University takes all my time.
Anyway, maybe I'll upload another song of mine soon.
Thanks for listening and comment :D

Ed , master ,how are U ? lastnight I was thinking should write an email & ask '' How are U '' ?,cause there was no news from U for a couple of the days , and now I'm glad to see U fine .
and ...regardng your kind comment, first I rally wish U know this is not a compliment by an eastern guy if I say no doubT , I'm honoured to know U ( & some others too) here ..in fact I was so lucky Ed ..that day when I joined to looperman peradventure and U may don'T feel by yourself , U may don'T think so by yourself such about yourself if I honesty say beyond music & your lovely guitar playing style which I adore , I've learned ( & am still learning) so much from your personalitY( as a true manner of a master behaviour & talking )your insight & even talking ...
things which no doubT ar so more important & more worthy than the way we play instruments, and things which won't be teached in no college...
& has made me learn abouT personality & actually life for my future ..the days will pass and I may never can be honoured to see many of my unseen friends here who are dear for me ..like U , Danke , Steve Brown ,Chris ( brillbilly),Mike Stokes,Wayne , Domenico, even little Corina or even VickyDan & Patrick(spivkurl) althought we have never sent email to eachother and also many of others whom I don't make my reply longer by writing their names now ,humans who I knew them all here & We may never meet eachother , buT they are alive and will remain in my mind beyond the time ...... looperman worked as a college ,or some how a new university for me ,and more than music I've learned about personalitY & mastership behaiviour and insight in this site ,which is so worthy for me.
appology for long reply and my gratest appreciations to your attention for listening to this trial of mine & in he end as usual my best wishes . Sincerely.__Behnam

on Child Of The Matrix by brillbilly
Oh I like that bit that kicks in around 1:50....a bit dark...but there is also a kind of majestic quality about the whole thing...really some very rich sounding pads evolving in the background..this was great listening right now as I am in one of those funks where my ideas aren`t enough to motivate me to sit down and play....superbly done Chris...floats itself all the way across the water to these old prairies...Ed

on Shifted Progressions by DouglasS
oh yeah...that big transition around 1:50 is a work of art....(as are all of them)...great example of cinematic composing (3rd section..3:20 is a really effective switch)....Definitely music of the picture painting variety Doug...the great thing about the genre is the scope of license it provides for creativity...this is just a superb bit of work and the thought you put into the composition realy shows....a well done to you.....Ed
DouglasS
DouglasS replied 7th Oct 2013 - 12 years ago
Ed,

Thank you for your insight, I was faced with working with many parts that I couldn't in good conscience let go or remove, so I spent a good bit of time working on the transitions and had some fun doing so. As always, I appreciate your input, especially from someone as talented as yourself.

on Speechless by Mahloo13
Mahloo...what you consider unfinished most of us would be happy to consider an achievement....The song, accompaniment and production are really well done...even if I have to confess that my ears are considerably less than they used to be...besides I eally like the laid-back styling so really enjoyed the listen...a well done to both of you....Ed

Mahloo13 replied 28th Sep 2013 - 12 years ago
Thank you Ed! I really appreciate it! We did have a lot of plans with this track but we never go around to re-record the vocals so the project kinda started collecting dust.

There is nothing wrong with your ears and your music speaks for that.

Thanks again!

on While You Were Sleeping by BrandonMichelle
With that smooth & expressive vocal delivery style I wouldn`t think you would be lacking in collab opportunities BM...really well done, and being just an instrumentalist myself I must say you have some very talented accompaniment in this one...and Daniel obviously has some extra big talent on that guitar....A big well done to both of you...I often have more than a few backing music compositions (usually done with the intention of adding some guitar melody) in my folders if you should need a mix or two for a rainy day just let me know.....Most of my tunes of late have been of the mellow variety but likely have 1 or 2 R&B type tunes unfinished right now if that style appeals to you....Anyway...enjoyed this one....keep on.....Ed
