on Take Me Away Ft Nacole and Stephanie Kay by SeriouslyJoking
Hey SJ,....that intro was great and the transition to the main section right on....not having any real expertise on the genre I cant offer any intelligent suggestions...I just enjoyed the listening to this one....Ed

Hi again, Ed!
It seems that the intro is what people like in this song, and I thought the intro to be too boring!
Haha...

Thanks so much for listening and for the long answer to my comment about your song today - no need to post that loop I was asking for - I was just curious about the instrument and wanted to know if I could somehow make the same beat in a FL DAW.
And about your songs - DON'T DELETE THEM!!

Take care and have a nice day/evening over there.

I like this one Exp54....definitely different but in the best of ways....I`m likely a bit biased..being into guitar & bass ..but must say I really enjoyed the listen...creative stuff....Ed

on Una Caricia De Sol - Featuring Carlos by ScottFranco
I hear those touches of Santana that you mentioned Scott....and some very nice touches of latin jazz...still..it is indeed very Latin...and that is what you do well...another good one going on here guys...well done....Ed
ScottFranco
ScottFranco replied 21st Oct 2013 - 12 years ago
It's funny, Ed...I don't really consider myself a Latin musician. I just follow what Franco composes. He's the real Latin musician. If you listen to the stuff on my personal site, there is very little that is Latin based. I'm more a funk and jazz musician. I do love the challenge Franco give me, though.

Anyway, thanks for your ear and comment.

Cheers,
Scott

on GC GC GC DC by KAMPUTERA
Hi Kamputera.....interesting that you found an android app the can actually record without more latency than acceptable...I gave up looking after reading that the system just wouldnt work for audio at any decent specs....notice some distortion in the track...likely just overdrove the inputs capability a bit but if you discount that it sounds surprisingly good....I got tired of spending hours trying to do stuff with the major software years ago...and I have used most of them over the years (they all work fine if you want to spend a lot of time at it I guess)....been using Acid Pro for about the last 8 years...does everything I could do on anything else...just easier & most stuff on the fly.....keep on......Ed

Thanks TW for your review. I believe this track was recorded live with my ANDROID device on record near a Roland Micro Cube. My levels were a bit too high and my Droid, possibly, too close to the amp. Tape-A-Talk records in .wav, but there's another app. called ASR that records to .mp3. I'll be giving that one a try. The computer that had my recording software on it crashed and I'm hesitant to resurrect it. I appreciate the listen Ed and Take Care, Mario.

on RufeLess - Dad by teamrufeless
Hey Lee....just following up on your reply (and big thanks for those track comments by the way...always appreciated)...I cleaned up most of my posts (with the delete button) but if you ever hit one of my tunes that might work for a vocal...or anything else you may want to do....just mail me....I would be more than happy to do a mix without the usual lead guitar stuff for you.....you or I could add some lead bits after if we wanted.....I usually have several music mixes from ones that I didn`t finish or where the lead escaped me if you need any rainy day fun too.......Ed

heartfelt indeed....really like this one Lee....Your vocal is the star here...but must say you put together some thoughtful lyrics and delivered them like a pro.....like the interaction between the vocal and the guitar....really well done and I know its not an easy accomplishment.....nice to see a song delivered with all the dynamics intact too.....just a great job Lee....really did enjoy this one.....Ed

on Im Walking Away by ScottFranco
yes...indeed a bit different for you pair of talents (and kudos to the vocalist for such a fine job)...I have tried to vary my own approach several times but I find when I pick up the old guitar my tracks end up sounding like something I did before...I`ll work on it some more....You guys just sound good whatever you decide to do Scott...lots of variation here and I like the way you placed the vocal nicely up front where it is clear/distinct.....keep on Scott & Franco.....your talent is showing again.....Ed

Thanks much, Ed. We always enjoy reading your comments on our tracks. I think what really helps us with our array of genres is the fact that we both have our roots in several different styles of music, not to mention there are two minds at work. We have also compared notes on artists we like, and we have similar musical idols and styles.

Again, your words are very encouraging and we appreciate them.

Ciao,
Franco & Scott

on Super Saiyan by Felix
that changeup around 0:45 is really effective...its not a genre I would be a good source of feedback on but you obviously do it very well....nice job on the production...notice you brick walled it but still were able to leave the main dynamics intact....well done....Ed

Felix replied 13th Oct 2013 - 12 years ago
First of all, thank you for the feedback. I spent a little while on the change up, so I'm glad you noticed it. While mixing this track down, it didn't sound like it would be brick walled, but it was. I do need to work on that. Overall, I am glad you liked it. Thanks again for the feedback.

on Wondered Why w ImproveWithError on Vocals by MWRatridge
Hey Mark & Kyle....you guys could convert me to country....the way you do it is so close to Folk the difference doesnt matter...great work on the harmonies...but like all good songs of the genre it starts with the lyrics & the way they are delivered...and you do it well boys...I would maybe run a little bass in the mix but I can sure do without it....Bravo guys....more....Ed

on Long Lonely Nights by beerling1970
one of your best beerling...carries the title theme really well...I have been absorbing a few lessons on the Loop today and I really like the quite minimal appraoch you have going here where every instrument plays a distinct part in the overall vibe....this is thoughtful stuff..creativity at its best (which is one of the reasons I love hanging out here wher I get a chance)......Ed

on Platform 1b ft Behnam Zandi DeciBel by srbrown7
Hey Steve...just a note of thanks for the comments on Cloud Dancer...I went over to my music PC...muted the bass track (I used a simple synth bass on the version posted) and plugged in my old JazzBass which I am much more comfortable with...but tend to walk around a lot on....and did some different bass licks...big difference....I`ll leave the one I did posted ...but I`m slapping myself on the forehead for not letting myself do my old bass player things....thanks again...Ed
srbrown7
srbrown7 replied 7th Oct 2013 - 12 years ago
Hi Ed, thanks for the nice comments on Platform. Yes Behnam has really shined on this one and to be perfectly honest probably didn't give it his best shot which is scary! Behnam just played his part alongside my orignal posting of this song and sent the guitar work via email! No worries with the bass feedback. As I work alone its easy to forget all that I have at my disposal, or alternative approaches, or I find I get bored with a piece and go for a quick finish.
Kind regards
Steve

on Unrequited love -Original Song- Soleil Lune by SoraSolitudine
Hi SoleilxLune....you know enough about music to convey some very pleasant Sunday evening listening over my way...it does have a touch of the meloncholy...but the lighter sounds & high strings keep it floating just above becoming sad (if you had added a cello it would have really come across much sadder)...I like it the way it is...not too meloncholy...but certainly thoughtful....You did very well...keep on doing it....Ed

Aww! Thank you very much for your words.
Well, I think that this one is very (extremely simple ._. )
I've not been able to compose these last weeks.
University takes all my time.
Anyway, maybe I'll upload another song of mine soon.
Thanks for listening and comment :D
