on 100 seconds pianO for thinking to deaf people by deciBel
Hi Behnam....it is quite a unique piano sound...very bell like...but I know and you know...it is the feeling that the music conveys that speaks to the mind....you are special Behnam...and I am happy to have met you and your music here....Ed

Ed , master ,how are U ? lastnight I was thinking should write an email & ask '' How are U '' ?,cause there was no news from U for a couple of the days , and now I'm glad to see U fine .
and ...regardng your kind comment, first I rally wish U know this is not a compliment by an eastern guy if I say no doubT , I'm honoured to know U ( & some others too) here ..in fact I was so lucky Ed ..that day when I joined to looperman peradventure and U may don'T feel by yourself , U may don'T think so by yourself such about yourself if I honesty say beyond music & your lovely guitar playing style which I adore , I've learned ( & am still learning) so much from your personalitY( as a true manner of a master behaviour & talking )your insight & even talking ...
things which no doubT ar so more important & more worthy than the way we play instruments, and things which won't be teached in no college...
& has made me learn abouT personality & actually life for my future ..the days will pass and I may never can be honoured to see many of my unseen friends here who are dear for me ..like U , Danke , Steve Brown ,Chris ( brillbilly),Mike Stokes,Wayne , Domenico, even little Corina or even VickyDan & Patrick(spivkurl) althought we have never sent email to eachother and also many of others whom I don't make my reply longer by writing their names now ,humans who I knew them all here & We may never meet eachother , buT they are alive and will remain in my mind beyond the time ...... looperman worked as a college ,or some how a new university for me ,and more than music I've learned about personalitY & mastership behaiviour and insight in this site ,which is so worthy for me.
appology for long reply and my gratest appreciations to your attention for listening to this trial of mine & in he end as usual my best wishes . Sincerely.__Behnam

on Child Of The Matrix by brillbilly
Oh I like that bit that kicks in around 1:50....a bit dark...but there is also a kind of majestic quality about the whole thing...really some very rich sounding pads evolving in the background..this was great listening right now as I am in one of those funks where my ideas aren`t enough to motivate me to sit down and play....superbly done Chris...floats itself all the way across the water to these old prairies...Ed

on Shifted Progressions by DouglasS
oh yeah...that big transition around 1:50 is a work of art....(as are all of them)...great example of cinematic composing (3rd section..3:20 is a really effective switch)....Definitely music of the picture painting variety Doug...the great thing about the genre is the scope of license it provides for creativity...this is just a superb bit of work and the thought you put into the composition realy shows....a well done to you.....Ed
DouglasS
DouglasS replied 7th Oct 2013 - 12 years ago
Ed,

Thank you for your insight, I was faced with working with many parts that I couldn't in good conscience let go or remove, so I spent a good bit of time working on the transitions and had some fun doing so. As always, I appreciate your input, especially from someone as talented as yourself.

on Speechless by Mahloo13
Mahloo...what you consider unfinished most of us would be happy to consider an achievement....The song, accompaniment and production are really well done...even if I have to confess that my ears are considerably less than they used to be...besides I eally like the laid-back styling so really enjoyed the listen...a well done to both of you....Ed
Mahloo13
Mahloo13 replied 28th Sep 2013 - 12 years ago
Thank you Ed! I really appreciate it! We did have a lot of plans with this track but we never go around to re-record the vocals so the project kinda started collecting dust.

There is nothing wrong with your ears and your music speaks for that.

Thanks again!

Hi Serge...well..I dont do any of the social sites...just a couple of the smaller music communities where fellow musicians hang out....besides pictures of this old guy would just scare off any potential listeners....I do have a couple of little videos (including one with Carole (janis71) on my YouTube page here :

on While You Were Sleeping by BrandonMichelle
With that smooth & expressive vocal delivery style I wouldn`t think you would be lacking in collab opportunities BM...really well done, and being just an instrumentalist myself I must say you have some very talented accompaniment in this one...and Daniel obviously has some extra big talent on that guitar....A big well done to both of you...I often have more than a few backing music compositions (usually done with the intention of adding some guitar melody) in my folders if you should need a mix or two for a rainy day just let me know.....Most of my tunes of late have been of the mellow variety but likely have 1 or 2 R&B type tunes unfinished right now if that style appeals to you....Anyway...enjoyed this one....keep on.....Ed

on Pieces Ft Devyn Rose REMIX by SeriouslyJoking
Now this is different...and in a very good way...I can hear the tought that you put into the composition SJ...that widening on the kick is a bit unusual but really effective in this track...really nice job of the way you have the vocals and music interacting and the way the sounds are placed around the vocal...I`m listening with reasonable good earphones and the mix sounds fine to me ...SJ never stop doing the kind of music that appeals to YOU...and dont give a dm about what genre it seems to fit...The music innovators who have influence the world of music didn`t accomplish anything by trying to sound like everybody else...I love your musical imagination....keep on doing it...and a big well done to you on this one...Ed

Oh, this was as a serious and very warm hearted pep talk to the unsecure side of me!
I hear you Ed and thank you for that - although my shallow side still is hoping to some day accomplish something more commercial and not just odd sounding songs...but it seems that I really can't hear the difference anyway! =D
Maybe I'm doomed to create oddness.

Thank you so much for listening and putting your thoughts in writing, it really means a LOT!
Take care and have a great evening/day/night/morning. =)

on Key to My Heart by midiman007
Nice to catch up with such a fine jazz number on the loop (we could use more n the genre)...aside what others may say midiman...I love your mix and especially the fact the you have brought it up to the perfect level, clean & clear and with all the dynamics intact...I hate to see those wav graphs that look like a ruler with the life compressed out of them...a very fine bit of composing for the accompaniment and nicely played to feature and support the vocal (and its an excellent vocal)....a big well done to all....keep doing it....Ed
midiman007
midiman007 replied 25th Sep 2013 - 12 years ago
Tumbleweed,

I am always happy to see an honest comment. I also hate to see a wav so flat it looks like nothing but a flat line.
I did compress it some, just not the heck out of it.
I think my playing was ok on this. Not that great.

on an Example of my misknowings by deciBel
Hello Behnam...I have decided that genres are useful to people who are looking for a particular style of music they want to listen to...I think they are of no use whatsoever to artists who create music of their own (unless they want to sound like somebody else).....I sometimes use "Cinematic" as it allows anything that creates pictures for the mind....This is creative and that is all that matters...well done...Ed

deciBel replied 11th Nov 2013 - 12 years ago
master I've pick it up from my hidden traX,after almost one month if U see I'm so late in reply
Ed I'm agree with U & sending my greatest appreciations for U because of your attention and worthy descriptions abouT genre.
I've composed it as a subordinate level of music , and have no cinematic insight for composing this and just it was a fun training to forget about moments of a greY afternoon in my musical shelter just to see what will happen if try to compose something similar to music game.but i am lucky and now when I'm writing this replY , this trial is supposed to be used for a computer game in next Feb or march.
it;s funny to see something which i see it as a subordinate level of music , finds such proposals & makes me think I should change my judgement about some of my musical trials.
anyway thnx Ed,and wish everything is fine for U ,out of this islamic vacuumed.all the bests.___Behnam
