on Never Be Alone by BradoSanz
i like your voice a lot. also liking your vocal mix. I guess you did some sort of layering. very sweet, from the heart song. worth refining to the next level I would say. all the best.

Thanks, midisparks! I just harmonized with myself on the recordings haha. Harmonies are one of my favorite things to record :P

on The End of The Night ft 3v3sound by mrwolf14
your vocals blend very beautifully into your mix. also like the drum sound you get as well. very full and rich. nice work! I feel in general you could cut the lows a bit on the mix. All the best. Dan

Thanks for the kind words Dan...
I was actually thinking of adding a low-cut filter to the mix, to clean it up a bit. Thanks for pointing this out!

on I Wont Quit by soundhound
singing is central I agree. I vocalize most mornings even though I would not put my voice out there for folks. that you get this concept is obvious from your expressive and flexible guitar work. thoroughly enjoyed your track. and I hope you rediscover a new actual voice. cheers.

Yes I can talk... But I've lost my range and the control I once had
in my singing voice...
I know what a good voice should sound like, and I don't have it
anymore...
But the Guitar works well as a replacement...
Glad you enjoyed it...

Peace...TG.

on A Little Bit Of Infinity by StaticNomad
so much to enjoy hear and deserves several relaxed listens. but I was really digging the fusion big band/rock/funk feel from about 2:00 to 3:00. maybe I have the genres all wrong but great work and thoroughly enjoyed.

Hi again.

Yeah, definitely go for a good few listens of this as there's a lot to take in - something that's pretty standard for my tracks.

Regarding the big band/rock/funk, it does get more rocking around 2 mins. You saying big band really got me thinking. That term usually to me means sort of orchestral jazz band though that's not what this sounds like. However, I listened more closely and I can hear a bit of a brass quality to one of the synth sounds in there so maybe that's got you thinking of the brass section that big bands always have.

That's given me the idea to go back and add in a complementary synth brass sound, just to accentuate that mood. But I probably won't as it's fine as it is. But, who knows, it could be cooler still. And that section is also pretty funky while the guitar brings the rock so I think you're actually pretty accurate with the genres. I was strongly considering ditching the guitar there as it works just fine without. But I managed to edit it to sound pretty cool so I'm keeping it.

Thanks again.

on Annabelle By EazyBeatz by EazyBeatz
those "hiccups" of dead silence are a neat effect. adds to the spookiness. I feel you could "normalize" the whole track for more sound. suspenseful cinematic feel for sure. nice work.

on V O Q T A Y Y featuring ZankFrappa by promenade2239
that is an amazing bass sound in the second one 2:00 minutes in or so, and well mixed. not easy working out the lows. beautiful vocal.
promenade2239
promenade2239 replied 11th Feb 2015 - 10 years ago
thank you for good words! I really appreciate that. I played bassline on Rhodes piano (Kontakt plugin) using a very simple midi keyboard. I tried to stick as possible with the guitar - that may be a reason for the overall coherent mix sound.
happy you liked. A.

on HARLEQUIN by Planetjazzbass
nice to stumble on a planetjazzbass track this a.m. like that star-trek-like vocal hit early on. I felt the split second setup into some more traditional changes right before the sax solo and that was very smooth and beautiful subtle color change. low mix awesome. peace. regards. Dan

on Modnex - CLUB X by Modnex
i like your writing. a lot going on and all well mixed. not easy. you achieve a very spacy feeling which would work well in a club i think. it would be interesting to have a section exclusively devoted to the kick and some other percussion. Would be great base for a build. just a thought for future works. all the best! Dan

on Hard Trap HipHop Instrumental Beat by DeLaBeatz
the gang chorus is a powerful color in this, as is a later female voice hit. you create a sense of dialogue, of drama. there is a feeling from your music of something going down. great cinematic feel. congrats on your work. Dan

on Taking Two by Spivkurl
it's really great to hear the super fast lick. we don't hear enough of that energy in the "solo". really conjures imagery for me of a a robot planet, or robot insect colony. neat work, Pat. huge fav!

Spivkurl replied 19th Feb 2015 - 10 years ago
I've found a lot of comfort in making pretty uptempo stuff lately, it's just satisfying. I appreciate you giving some feedback! I guess I was a bit confused by your statement - "we don't hear enough of that energy in the "solo"" ... care to elaborate? It does have a fairly robotic vibe to it, I hear dat! Thank you for the listen and fave!

Hey midi, the secret is a boat load of reverb on everything. Lol thats how you get the airy space that is in this track. Thanks for the support!

Thanks Dan, still haven't updated the latest version, laziness and xmas kept me back. hope you come back to hear it, not sure perhaps in a weeks time. But thanks for the compliment, it was only a very short snippet from a vocal I sampled but shhhh!!! lol. Trick was not over doing as its so short, so strategically placing it where it wouldn't be drowned out was key.

on XyIlent - Someone Like You by XyIlent
how did you extract the vocal so cleanly for your re-mix? seems like quite a job to do that. nice work on your track. the plucky sound gives it an upbeat feel even though she is talking about an affair that might be over. all the best.
XyIlent
XyIlent replied 2nd Jan 2015 - 10 years ago
its just a studio acccapella :)
Yeah i noticed that while i was making it that the plucks where giving the track a sort of upbeat feel, contradicting her vocals but i dunno if thats a bad thing or not haha.

Thanks midi :)
