There are a few good reasons why there’s so much attention to detail in my tracks. The main one relates to my composition process, if you can even call it that.
I don’t actually compose these pieces much in advance. I just jam over looped sections and then edit the shit out of everything until I come up with something that has some sort of pleasing structure. So, there are endless errors and awkward bits and sections that don’t neatly transition together. So, I have to give everything a lot of editing love and go and correct and trim so many small details.
And through close attention to things, I often create new sounds and surprising little transitions. I believe in improving hundreds/thousands of small things to make a big overall difference. I also go looking very deeply into the track to see if I can squeeze more out of any riffs or parts or fills or whatever. And I generally can and then go ahead and use them. That’s why my stuff is so long – I just keep spinning out all those cool things I find.
And then I have to work out how to make smooth transitions so that’s more and more detailed work. I have to be able to listen back and not have anything really annoy me.
I’d actually like to do some simpler, rawer stuff but that doesn’t look likely to happen any time soon. I’m quite set in my track-making ways. So: detailed, deep, complex stuff it is.
Glad to be able to inspire someone. Many people have and continue to inspire me. I always hoped in my younger years to be able to make stuff that might inspire/surprise/amaze/intrigue others.
beautiful work so far on her voice. especially on the "hoo-oo-oo-oo" thing. the guitar sound is perfect. I wonder how you will end it. I suppose these tunes tend to do a fade out although you might do that "hoo-oo-oo" thing as a total a capella at the end. nice work. really enjoy it.
the dub sections are super! i understand from your comment that you are still fine tuning your mix and I appreciated the detail you shared on that because I learn from it. it is obvious you have good control over mixing. look forward to hearing further improvements but thoroughly enjoying the track. regards - Dan
We appreciate you checking out our track and leaving your kind words.
Yeah, we have a nice foundation with Franco, Scott, and Dan, than we are fortunate to have others 'sitting in' with us. It can get a bit complicated sending the track back and forth to each other, but it all seems to work out in the end.
very fluid progression of elements. and I love the dead silence for a split second at 1:00 in. that is a great touch. silence works! and your use of dub elements is working great. seems to need ending still. perhaps you could end it by bringing it down to a few elements - maybe feature a dub element amongst them - and then just the dub element alone and then cut-off. might feel more satisfying as an end. best regards. Dan
it seems you have a nice control over this style. your synth choices and the mixing choices are really working well. the mixing of the voice especially is adding a lot. like how you drop the percs out completely at 2:30 and let it be solo synth for a few secs. nice work! all the best. Dan
I guess I hear a little bit the urgency of a full bladder but not really that much! I guess the insistence of running 16th notes as we go along. I like how you bring the level way down now and again to bring in a new section or element - like at 4:20 when you bring it down just to snare for a bit. always enjoy your stuff brother. we will collab eventually I hope! Dan
Glad you could stop by and leave comments. I'm always up for working with other people so if you have anything in mind then hit me up and we'll see what we can do.

you maintain interest for me in this one from start to finish your intro really draws me in - creates a sense of anticipation. nice drum beats. interesting synth sounds and statements. I wish you a lot of success in refining this one. best regards - Dan
whenever I hear a well-tuned guitar I am grateful! and the guitar at the beginning sounds great. nice clean groove. I think everybody can relate in some way to your lyric. nice work. - Dan
Thanks for the listen and for the comment, Dan! I used to be a beat-synth-loud kind of person, but, lately, I've been finding guitar loops to be cooler and cooler haha
it was a nice texture change at 4:12 when the active groove stopped and you brought the track to a close from the there. interesting solos and sax sounds. nice work!
very happy groove. lighthearted. i think folk-influenced, or ethnic influenced music always has a warmth to it, and you track has that quality. nice work.
started playing around with a little scratching. it's just a scratch per downbeat right now. just a concept that could be developed further. peace. https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/78202
your lyrics are so brilliant brother. "the hurt in my life is like wings that don't fly" I guess I could work on those wings so they could fly! beautiful orchestration of traditional instruments - and I love the samples. usually the orchestral instruments need a bit of tweaking and experience with the real thing to get right. you got it right in this track big time. big FAV!

worlds connect to bring forth hope when shared are eyes that see beyond physical sight, you are totally awesome, gratitude blossoms the mind of me for the warmth of your coolness. thank you for the time of listen taken as am eye glad that you have found enjoyment, truly it is great that inner focus has allowed your thoughts to breathe the views of my mental intent, the garden of motivation welcomes your push for the seeds of my pen to further grow lyrical buds for mind nurture... may the light of peace shine upon you
hey, man! I love your sounds and mix. there is nice ethnic flavor in your mix, nice percs, brass. and the vocal is very chill. enjoyed the listen a lot. thanks. Dan
before I die I would like to know how to get the kick like you do. I usually have to EQ my kick down to nothing to keep it from obliterating the rest of the track. would also like to learn that "wash" at the climax of the build to 1:24. interesting synth sounds all the way around. great energy. Dan
I just try not to let the levels get to high and just drop a bit out of the very low end of the spectrum. That wash thing was probably from a loop pack. A lot of my stuff is.
Cheers for stopping by and checking out the trak.
Much appreciated.

the addition of chorus at 1:33 the and sexy sighs are beautiful touches. what a fantastic groove you develop and it is all crystal clear. great work! all the best!
2:21 is a nice change of color in the groove in the percs. you definitely have the chill out feeling going as far as i am concerned. all the parts come through beautifully and the vocal really floats just right over the mix. thoroughly enjoyed. best! Dan
Did you have a collab that added the bass? It took the track in a little different direction? Are the fade-ins and outs of the synths an intentional thing?
