I was having internet connection problems this past week when I played this track so I never got a chance to hear it or comment. Now that I get a chance to listen I can say that this is impressive, I've listened to this several times already and enjoying it each time! Ya, really DV, make this one longer!!! Great idea, the cello in the middle was demanding my attention and the percussion and the high strings were holding it all together. Gonna dl and fav, sweet one!
That stinks bud, were you able to figure out what was causing the probs? As for the track, I was thinkin along the lines of Dropkick Murphys meets KMFDM or something. Will def expand on this in a few days. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Sweet track has a crisp clean sound and a good hard driving force behind it.Definitely a solid foundation for some serious D&B,or posibly even glitch or industrial, given the right person or persons put their own spin on it.looking forward to hearing what may develop from this track in the future.im not familiar with mac programs but the program you used here sounds great for making D&B or breakbeat.Great work
Heck yeah, man, I could def see this being used for any one of those mix types. Though truth be told, I was aimin at somethin traditional here (am interested in hearing whatever people come up with however). As for the prog, I was only pointing it out for those who might already have a mac and are interested in a new prog (or even for those folks who don't have a mac yet, but were interested/curious to see what it offered). Anywho, thanks for stopping by. Later on!
Dude, we need the expanded version!!!! Talk about potential, this one has it.
I had to laugh about the Irish pub in Alabama your Dad plays at...something really funny about that.....
A redneck walks into an Irish pub in Alabama with a parrot on his shoulder. The barkeep says "where the hell'd ya get that"? The parrot says" Alabama, it's full of em".
Anyway, it would be great to hear another 3 or 4 minutes on this one :)
Yeah, I do something like this about once or twice a year (come up with a short snippet for school and then expand on it later). I know that this is the third one I've posted (previously it was the one for Legacy Drive, can't recall what it was before that). So no worries, this will get bumped up.
And its cool about 'laughin-at-alabama-irish' thing, my mom & I have done it a few times. This is mainly due to the area the pub's in (think of a small town with a mix of snow birds and country bumpkins). Though it aint as bad as it was up in NC (Wilmington/Outer Banks areas), the folks down here are more down-to-earth (less snobby than the other). Anyways, thanks for stopping by. Later on!
Wow, DV, impressive program for sure. I'm no DnB guy, but I have to believe someone like Spivkurl would jump all over this bad boy and do something absolutely wicked with it.
Love the tone on this one, everything is really crisp and clear. Awesome job brother.
Yeah, D&B just grew on me over the years. It def isn't for everyone. Though I'm sure some bass-hed'll be able to do some killer stuff with this. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
The drums sound great, clear, low thumpy kick. I hope someone uses this for something. Dnb isn't my genre of choice but those who do produce it should give this a go. Nice one DV!
Prech that mate. Only downside to it is that I mixed it with headphones so when I relistened to it the next day I found that the mix was a little too hot. Anyways, glad ya dug it. Later on!
Thought I'd take a listen to this because I haven't heard anything from you before despite bieng on the site for almost 1 1/2 years :P
Some really nice drum rythms, it never feels uncomfortable at any parts, and the sounds that go with it are pretty awesome too.
Let me know when the collabs uploaded, I think I want to hear it.
Its cool Ste, as I was just telling Elaine on another rev-reply, there's no rush with this stuff. We'll bump into eachother whenever, ya know?
As for the track, been wanting to delve more into D&B/Breaks for a while now. Just kept having other stuff come up & get in the way of my truly delving into it. There's just something mesmerizing about its structure I think. So I've been dying to put my spin on it. Dunno how many people are gonna jump on this, but I'll try to keep you posted. Thanks for stopping by. Later on!
Ok so I read your description and immediately had my question answered. I thought you had this uploaded before but couldn't understand why the dates didn't seem to add up. I also can't understand why you don't have more reviews for this track...shame on them I say....whoever "them" are.
I'm glad you're still carrying the electronic baton. I remember in the early days of tracks being uploaded there was a lot more electronic stuff but it seems to have waned in favour of other genres or perhaps just been mis-labeled.
Anyways cool track...I could certainly imagine this as a movie soundtrack or perhaps in a video game.
Yeah, that happens sometimes. With me I think its coz I'm more of a back-burner artist (keeping a low profile, not pimping/promoting my tracks as much, etc.). Its cool, I figure I'll get 'em (plays/revs) when I get 'em, no rush, ya know?
As for the other thing, EDM is my arena (my first home), don't really wanna stray away from it too much. I'll play around with other stuff every once in a while, but I always end up comin back to my core. Anyways, glad ya dug the track. Later on!
Cool deal mate. I can kinda hear 'em too. It tends to make me think of what it'd be like if Cirrus & Crystal Method hooked up on a collab. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
I like the track, but I found the fade outs and hesitations a bit of an annoyance lol. Just a personal preference thing, I assure you. I know people who practically freak out when I use staccato (No kidding).
I hear ya mate. I was listening to this a few weeks ago on my iPod and found myself bobbin my head, but kinda wishing it was mixed a lil different (the groove is there, but the format falls just shy of it). I've also been thinkin of opening up some of my older ones for collab/remix stuff, might have to dig this one up to have another go at it, as it were. Thanks for stoppin by. Later on!
Loved the intro, had an "Andromeda Strain" feel to it (that's where it took me, anyways). Actually, I could see this piece being used in a new reinterpretation of that movie (not that awful tv one, that sucked), but a version with a half descent budget and acual actors.
If I still had my electric, I'd like to try something with this. I'd lose the pads or sweeps though. Bass and drums kick on this and the structure is well suited to a good rock track.
You work with so many sounds I wouldn't even imagine working with and you come up with something as good as this piece. Very impressive. Not something I would listen to a lot, but definitely something I would listen to when in the mood.
Haha, its cool mate. All I did was take Moke's cool creation and apply a more cinematic feel to it (while using the drums as the foundation to keep the dancy vibe to it alive). And its def not general audiences music (it has its own flavor). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
