Haha, I'm always 'up late' (I'm a night owl, prefer the 3rd shift life over the others... plus, the night is better on the eyes/skin- no harmful UV, haha). As for the tune, haven't heard the other (Schmeej one) so I can't comment there. This sorta reminds me of Top Gun for some reason (not Loggins, that other guy, Satriani, but just a tad toned down, less solo & more drive, ya know). And a 'lil Green Day (has some punk angst to it me thinks). Only thing I'm left cravin is some bass, but that's whatev' (don't need 'em all the time). Nice jam mate. Lates!
Thanks Donnie!
I could have worked on it more but it was a late night end of the year challenge.
It was a jam for sure...I got the drums from member BrianMaiden who got them from the drummer for Cheap Trick so I just played around the drums.
Oh...The Satriani reference made my day!
Thanks again for your comments, they are appreciated!
Allen.
I really like what you did, This intro is so good ... mint!
Also on the "main part", awesome guitar solos ... I told you a million times how much I love what you are doing and how are you doing ... Much respect and love friend
I am not a big fan of guitars and rock beats. But THIS is in my mp3 player now. Great chords, big drums and awesome brave mood overall, sounds like a movie soundtrack, I imagine bikers or a muscle car moving on some straight american road in the desert.
Hello my friend,it's so great to hear from you!
I like your description and honestly am glad you had a listen and commented.
You were one of the first artists I found when I joined the site and used your loops for my first loop based song "Last One Standing".
I appreciate your talent and that makes your review even more special.
Thanks for your comments and talent,I'm grateful!
Allen.
You back in business again mate? Thought i'd drop by and check out whats been happening. This is solid. I like the progression. Starts of like a ballad, then it goes a bit pink floydish (although i don't think dave gilmore could have pulled that solo off) Then we're in to a good old fashioned bit of rock.
Outstanding quality!!!
FR
Thanks FR,I thought I'd throw in everything but the kitchen sink and hoped it would all come together.
Alen had a great foundation that I built around.
He offered to change anything I wanted about his track to suit me but that would have defeated the point...to make it a combination of our styles...and I'm to old to change mine.
Thanks again for the comments and I bet David has plenty of extra guitars,I'll get my people in touch with his.
Allen.
A great fusion of sounds and changes. I loved the whole piece and all the different tools and environments. The sound is great. A pleasure for my ears. Really good ... from beginning to end.
Hey Patricia!
You told me before about the wrestling reminder for you...now I want you to know that I'm smiling right now as I type this...Wrestling is not what I had in mind..lol!
I do know what you mean...still smiling,I'm glad it reminds you of something and you know how much I appreciate every review and comment you give, and did I say how proud of you I am for all the great music you keep making?
My wife of 28yrs lost her mother to cancer on Christmas 2009 so we sat together this year and both shed tears as we listened to Not Forgotten...it means so much to us.
Your music is making a difference on a personal level and you should be very proud of what you do andas I said...I am!
FANTASTIC time, of music, but also guitars. Sometimes the union of very different genres provide a powerful combination .... Here is the proof .... Again, a great time.
Merci pour ce partage ....
Dan!
Thank you my friend.
I am so happy that you also understand the large divide that Alen9R and I share but our desire to create something a little different pushes us forward, sink or swim we had to try.
my fingers started smoking just listening to that second part..yes..2 very different approaches...I was getting real comfortable listening to the acoustic session when things took a turn towards the rock..(and some superb playing I might add)...now I`m not sure which part I liked best...but,the whole thing is superb listening & a display of fine musicianship...amazing how these collaborations just multiply the talent.....well done...Ed
Thank you Ed,I'm glad you got the idea here.It did start out for me to be just a Rock song but it didn't take long for me to realize and accept this would be a hybrid type of song.
Alen and I are very different but we both share so much respect for what each other does musically.
My production is flawed but I was hoping this would be an interesting listen from two different worlds.
Thanks again Ed and I appreciate your take on this one!
Allen.
Thank you Michael,I wasn't familiar with the beautiful poem.
I'm so pleased you liked the track...it may not appeal to all rock lovers but as I said this site allows us to try new combinations that maybe we would not otherwise... and if it doesn't work we all learn something so it's a win win for all of us.
Thank you Elaine, you know I try my best with everyone I collab with.I've said it many times before that If you put the "song" first it will always be a win win for everyone involved.
Thanks for listening and your comment,I always appreciate your reviews!
Allen.
I have to agree with Ed. It's hard to push our way through the din of "noise" on mainstream radio in these times we live in. Songs like this one are what should be playing on the airwaves.
Tommy Emmanuel would be proud of the guitar work on this one. And the vocals, well, just about as good as they can get. Spelljammer is so hugely talented in so many, many different ways.
One of the best collabs on the Loop. Thanks for sharing this one. It is truly special.
Bear, thank you so much,I never thought there would be vocals until SpellJammer,...even along the road I knew it was meant for him and his fiance as much as my own family...And I do love him as much.
Michael Stokes is a freaking genius. Then you toss in your guitar work (a master's class in how to play one). Then for good measure, you incorporate Ed's intro....holy cow, this is so good!!!!!!!!
Seriously one of the best tracks on the Loop. I have to agree with the Robin Trower reference from Dave - he would be proud of this one for sure.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
AWESOME!!!!
\m/ \m/
Bear
By the way, if you need a guitar, I've got several lying around that are used to being abused instead of played, haha. They wouldn't know how to act in the hands of a master.
Thank you so much for the comments Bear,These are some of my last tracks I'll be able to work on for a while.
Not to be a downer cause' this is not the forum but I have had to sell all my guitars,I lost my car and job and had to take care of my family but my father is helping me with transportation so life will get better.
Any new tracks you here will be from previously recorded guitar parts.
I appreciate your comments and this site,it has changed my life for the better and I'm sure God will provide.
Definitely two of my favorite Looper Super Stars here....love the trippy feel to this one. I just ordered a Zoom G9.2tt pedal. I can only hope to get close to the tone you have.
I wish you luck with the Zoom,I don't have to tell you that sometimes you have to spend the time to get it,I call it "turning a lot of knobs for a long time"..and then saving that patch.
A couple years ago when I joined the Loop and started recording at home I wasn't sure what to do cause I'm from the old school of cassette. My computer is old and couldn't handle many recording software programs and neither could I handle them so I bought a Tascam digital porta studio...I could deal with knobs and the Zoom, well I just came out of the stereo out into the recorder. There are a lot of headaches with my primitive methods Bear but it gets the job done and I do get to turn more knobs..lol.I do like mixing the master live with the recorder but I do use Audacity for small edits and final mp3 conversions.
And Yes,Twanna is fantastic! She's not only a great vocal talent, she produces every thing we do together as well as her own...she truly is genius.
What a great way to start my day. Nick is a genius (we all know that) but when you put your phenomenal guitar work in the mix, well it goes to a whole new level.
SMOKIN!!!!!!!!!!
You probably had to cool off the frets a bit after this one. Shredding at its finest, because I can hear every single note you played. And that is the way it should be :)
Bravo gents and a tip of the hat to Pedro for his piano loop....man that guy can play.
Thanks Bear!
If you read my reply to NUADA you'll see how much credit Nick deserves,I actually wasn't sure how to do this with out the whole track to play too and Nick was like "Do what you want...whatever will work" so I sent him this crazy track of me playing to the same loop for several minutes...it's kinda funny cause I had know idea what he was going to do with it until the finished song!
Thank you Spiv!
I've been in the middle of moving to A new home and have just got my internet going so the reply is late but your kind review is very appreciated my friend!
Good track for sure, loving the latin style vibes with D and B, nice blending of styles, great guitar, Santana's getting upset! Said it once , say it again Nick Q / Free Radical is great`at making D and B and should make more of it.
Hey sn76!
I appreciate the Santana reference,I'm humbled for sure.
I think Nick/Free is on the comeback trail and I support him all the way but you know Iv'e been so busy that I haven't got to his page yet...and this is his song...I gotta fix that!
This one is so named well, brilliant, to my fav artist working on a track, had to be good...excellent guitar, blended with the piano, could see Nuada on this one with his vocals, would be a blast...everything sounds so great, must say not normally a genre I listen to much, but so glad I did one this one...fav..Peace...elsd....
Waaaaaah what a HUMUNGOUS guitar sound, like to have a peek at your settings Allen just as a matter of research of course. Monster chops going on here, loved Twanna's chant, hypnotic. Discovered her work back in the summer, gorgeous!! Much bowing in admiration you're another Looperman find, I'll be back.
Thanks H!
Sorry for the late reply but I've been moving...hate it!!!
I actually use a Zoom G2-1u fx pedal and my Tele but I have to say that I sent Twanna my parts and she produced and mixed the big guitar sound...she's awesome on every level and make's the guitar sound good on this, the credit goes to her and I really don't know what she does...I think I'll ask :)
Thank you for the great review!
Allen
Yeah man, I'm welling up reading the comments!!
You got that guitar of your's up and running yet? I could use your talents again Mr.
Cheers for leiing it rip again!!
Hey Mr Radical!
I wish I could give you all the Tech details about the song but I don't know them, you'll have to ask MrQ...
Thanks for the comment, you did a great job and thank you for all your work on this...you really created the song,I was just a lonely guitar player with a pick ;)
Yes! Loved this track when it first came out. Absolutely love the blend of Carribean-esque piano with the drumloop and absolutely epic guitar solo. This is a fantastic sounding composition, you should both be extremely proud of this.
A definite download, thanks for re-posting this Allen.
Stephen,Thanks my friend!
Yea,when Nick left he took all his great tracks with him but I did have a little part in the song so I contacted him and was surprised that he is returning.
Nick does deserves all the credit.
Thanks again Stephen,I didn't know if this would ever be heard again and Nick did such a wonderful production...I just didn't want it to go away:)
Allen!! Twanna's xtra-special spectral funk coaxes out them elemental six-string forces - this track truly creates a whole new weather system - my friends, what a wild gift - crazy joy and utmost respect to you both!
Mr Stokes,
Thanks for stoppin' by!
Twanna has created her own genre as you have done also and I'm glad to be a part of it all!
I've said this before...You guys(girls)make me sound good,i'm very lucky to work with both of you and we shall again!

Like Richard Wilbur (from his poem The Ride) sez:
The horse beneath me seemed
To know what course to steer
Through the horror of snow I dreamed,
And so I had no fear,
Nor was I chilled to death
By the wind’s white shudders, thanks
To the veils of his patient breath
And the mist of sweat from his flanks.
