Hello again guys ! really good to be able to listen to your tracks again after the sites been down for what feels like an eternity ! Really great track this one, gorgeous guitar sounds and spell jammer really can SING !! gorgeous. looking forward to sharing more musical adventures with you guys in the near future !! keep up the good work !
I like the combination of of Soul and Rock. I love the lyrics to the track. Very powerful and moving track. Everything was pretty cool, and I enjoyed listening to it. This is going on my fav list. At the very beginning of the track, right before the guitar, it kind of sounded like something you would have heard from a Hip-Hop track... That's pretty cool. I had to listen to this a few more times to figure out the message you were talking about. Congrats you two, keep them coming.
Yes,the track was sent to me from my good friend T and I added the guitar parts.I can't predict the magic Twanna does with my guitar but I love it also...Please give her the credit cause I just plucked the strings!
ps...Twannas arrangement with the intro was all her,I give her all production credit.
Wow...I`m almost lost for words on listening to this one Allen...Its fantastic stuff man...You`re ready for the tour so head up this way & I`ll get advance tickets..(guess Slap would have some extra travel..Ha)...Some of the Loops biggest talent playing here & the super production values sure dont hurt the cause..Slap`s sax parts are just great, but then every other part fits to perfection too....commercial quality...and another fav (bu the time I get through your playlist my favs folder should be getting full)....a big well done to all involved...Ed
Ed!!
How did I miss this review...I gotta get my priority's straight.
Thank you so much and these guys deserve so much credit.
It's interesting how Spell and I do these tracks,he sends me the complete produced song with percussion,keys,bass..it's his melody.
I layer guitar tracks around Spell's but on this one I backed out the guitars and added Slap's sax first then worked around both of them.
It took me quite a while but working with this talent and the outcome was worth it.
I appreciate your listen and review my friend!
Allen
For some reason I've never heard Twanna's vocals until now.
Very powerful and soulful I have to say.
You always underplay your part in a collab which I like; modesty is a great thing...However, you are a great talent both in my eyes and ears.
Top notch collab :)
A really inspiring and moving accoustic track Allen, with great vocals from Spelljammer. Superb production as always from you guys, congratulations on a truly great achievement.
Thanks for the review Colin,SpellJammers wonderful addition made this complete.
SpellJammer sent this to me with the only addition to my original track being his vocal which says it all for me...he's my hero and a very talented friend!
I decided on this rock song for my review as you know I love rock.
At first impression, it sounds really very nicely done. The bass part is a little boomy on my system, but not a real problem.
In mastering my songs at my friends studio, he's always rolling the bass off my songs. I also play Bass guitar and love heavy bass and drums myself.
Here the drums are right on, so your friend did a great job with them. Your guitar playing is very good and tastefully done. Doubt that I could ever match it, esp. as I get older! I like the different sounds you get out of it.
So all in all Allen, I like your song, and I should to listen to many more, as I see you also do Blues.
Take care and thanks for sharing Allen.
Randy
Thanks Randy,I do use cheap headphones to mix which can be a problem bass wise.
One interesting think about the drums is that his loop was faster but when I slowed it down, the character changed into a more rock loop which I needed. Also I used all my tutoring from my 26yr old son to add a extra bass drum and the simple snare hits you hear.
Thanks again Randy,I love your reviews cause your're not just a listener but a member of the guitar club!
This is the most beautiful and moving track I've heard in a long time. Perfectly executed. Something I'll come back listening to for sure. Hearing this song performed live on a big stage would certainly be a breathtaking experience!
Thanks PM,it is personal and SpellJammer completed what I tried to convey with my guitar. His lyrics and vocals say all I wanted to.
Yes,the big stage is what we're hoping for...one day!
blues, rock, christmas, my birthday! it doesn't matter! its the voice, the subtly driving music with a guitar peeking its head in and out that make this great!!!! awesome guys! you make a great team!
Thanks Rat,I think we need more genres to choose from on this site,we can't write our own in can we?
I'll have to check it out,I know SpellJammer and I could use a Smooth Jazz genre and you're right about this song but seriously,Twanna is blending many styles to create her own, she's awesome!
Thanks Mark, and I'm ok...just going through the same ol' same..trying to make a living and take care of my family,it's not as easy as it used to be but I have Faith!
Allen + Twanna - this is such a great twinning and entwining collab - soulful blue and rocking - breaks on through and then some - guts and beauty is one helluva combo here - inspired, inspiring, and very dam fine - powerful music
Thank you Michael, and I would include you in the list of artists like Twanna that I have worked with here on the Loop that have inspired me beyond what I would have done on my own.
Wow guys this is a stunning track and instant fav, Spelljammer's vocals are wonderful compliment to an amazing instrumental. I really am at a loss of words for how great this track is, I will be downloading it when I get onto my other computer. I really don't know what else to say......amazing is all that comes to mind. Allen I really want to work with you again sometime, I'm just waiting for me to write the right song. Great job on this, you never cease to amaze me!!!
Thank you IWE,
I again have to say that I've been blessed with wonderfully talented friends that include you for sure!
I didn't do anything to my track,I just sent it to SpellJammer and he wrote the lyrics and added his own vocals, mixed them in and sent this to me...now that's why I'm the one who's blessed!
Thank you my friend and we will make more music together for sure.
Allen
superbly done guys...something this good aught to be getting a lot of airplay on a much bigger stage...great thoughtful lyrics perfectly delivered and love the tone and talent on that acoustic guitar...Excellent...Fav for sure....keep on.....ED
Thanks Ed!
I did the guitar a year ago and SpellJammer has been working on lyrics/vocals for a while.
This is one of those songs that moved both of us for the same reasons...the journey and the destination..."home".
Really impressive, both in quality, by the feeling that emerges here, listening.
This is very important, as friendship.
Thank you for sharing .... Un grand moment pour moi ....
Thanks Dan,
It's rare for me to create a song that's so close to my heart...and for SpellJammer to complete this journey is so much more than I expected.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
Allen
you guys, this so wonderful. so beautiful! thats all that needs to be said. the words, the lyrics, the delivery, the music, all awesome. great great job!
Allen, taking a cue from yr description - this captures a year in the life of one very big heart - what must have been a time of disruption and loss is related with such a sense of appreciation and hope that never succumbs to bitterness - man, that is powerful and honorable.
This collab is so right on - SpellJammer is incredible and your melody and subtle ornamentations are gifts.
Thank you Michael,
I'm so very pleased that you understand the meaning of this song and that it goes deeper than what I could say alone.
These lyrics were cultivated over time for SpellJammer, this wasn't done hastily.
I'm so proud of him and know that he is traveling down the road as we do and his "home"is well in sight with all the love that goes with it.
Hello my new friend!
I agree and wish there were a "Smooth Jazz" option on the genres,I'm always torn between the two on here and my co-collaborators seem to agree that a new genre option would be great.
The problem with the jazz is that we were worried about the jazz purists that might not hear it as such.
I should start a forum topic about it...and it sounds like you know the difference : )
This voice is one of the most beautiful here, and you put it in a velvet case with musical accompaniment this quality .... Excellent virtual collaboration.
What an awesome collab between 3 wonderful musicians! Your guitar playing always lights up a track man, truly at a virtuoso level, except even cooler because you're so darn modest and level headed haha. Much respect for you my friend :)
Well thank you Brent.
I don't view it as modesty as much as I feel I've payed some dues and have been blessed.
Again,I always put the total song first, not my guitar.
I try to listen to what would best serve"The Song"even if I just play a little or a lot...doesn't matter as long as people listen and love just that!
On MuzicIzMee4Ever's song Not Forgotten I played minimal guitars cause' it didn't call for any more than her vocals with accents.
But I have played for 37yrs so that helps also : )

But now I try to look beyond that and to the artist.
Thank you again M!
