Listen To Ocean Rock Song By DeadPixel At Looperman.com

30th Nov 2010 04:56 - 14 years ago
Description : A purrty song I wrote about the ocean (after going there) You could call it Avant Surf Punk Metal. It uses odd time signature of 7/2 and 12/4. UPDATED!!! no more recording buzz, removed the organ, and the timing is much better.

Sounded really good! I love the fact that you used an uncommon time signature.. Something about changing it up catches me off guard and I tend to listen more intently than normal. Very nicely done!

thanks, I do believe this site is far to overpopulated with songs in 4/4 lol.

Using different time signatures and, well, the whole piece reminds me of King Crimson. The guitar is mean like Robert Fripp's in some of the band's meaniest pieces. Good job. I like it.

King Crimson eh? Never thought of it that way, but I do see your point, thanks!

Lovin the guitar work on this one, it rocks! Really cool use of unusual time signatures! This has a really epic feel to it! Awesome that the ocean inspired you to create this! Well done! Faved for sure!

thanks, I knew it was going to be a surf rock type song, but I just had to kick it up a notch with the time signature.

I was trying to count off the timing and couldn't, haha, you really switched it up nicely, the chorus sounded like a slow 3/4 timing, dang! The guitars sounded nice and the waves are a nice touch. Always cool to hear something different!

thanks, lol and don't feel bad I had a bit of trouble with the timing for recording, and I wanted the timing to be near perfect...so needless to say it took me awhile.

This is sweet. Loe that opening and the guitar is fan-bloody-tastic. Drums are right on, nice transitions. The piece is begging for vocals (but not mine, lol). Nice way to finish.

Awesome

Faved (I would have donloaded, but............)

thanks, I actually updated this track with better timing and recording quality, but for some reason it keeps playing the old crappy version.

I agree with eshar, good music is good music and this is good music. Kind of reminds me of Link Wray type music. Ever listen to him? I like the guitar work, wish it had some gnarly vox (not offering, I'm far from gnarly)

thanks, and no, I've never heard of this Link Wray, but I will definitely look into him. And I'm not sure about vocals...I kinda like it without them lol

Yeah this is nice, like the rolling waves intro then the melody works its way in nicely. Time signature is intriguing and different. Your stuff is a nice refreshing change on the site I'll definitely take a listen to more. - DF

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.

Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.

Description : Produced by me. Vocal by singer from Croatia.
It will be released in few months.
I wanted to offer this song to a singer from LM community but she refused me before i even offered it to her.
I was actually inspired by Richard Shekaris work in here few months ago for this song.
It was meant to be in Latin at first but we found up it's much easier to do it in Italian with almost same effect.
This is all made in FL, no live instruments played , it's all electronic.
Love and peace.

Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).

Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.
