Description : EDIT: This track has been updated, EV jumped on board with me and added a verse in place of my 3rd... love how it came out and figured I should have this version on here since it's the "real" one IMO. Sorry to anyone who commented already... I'm on my 3rd attempt to upload this now... grrrr... error error error! You know... as I was looking at genre I had no clue what to classify this under lol. Aside from a cover I did last year, this is the first track I built from the beat up. Yeah I know the beat sucks compared to professional loops but it's a start... it was what I had in my head and I couldn't find a loop to fit. This was a song written about a particular night over 4 years ago... I split with my husband, then when he took back the apartment I found myself homeless for a couple nights. I know it could have been far worse than that... but it's made me appreciate having shelter no matter how much crap comes along with it. It was a December night of restrospect spent in and out of coffee shops to keep warm... wondering what the hell I was going to do with the freedom I'd finally been granted... with no money and no place to stay. For some reason this music made me think of that night.

Do u want to make a track/song? I'm open-minded towards style. I want to make a really meaningful jam. I love Depeche Mode and I think a slower electronica sound would suit you very well. Think about it...and let me know if your're interested.

Thanks very much :) It's funny cause you'd be about the 6th person who's said that to me. My friend Graham got me to record Fade into You ages ago when I was still running the karaoke circuit online. Thanks again, glad you liked it :)
Ooo there's a thought. Honestly when I did this one I wanted it to be very minimal but I agree it would sound cool with some. I should go hit Slap up.. I still have all the pieces of this one ;)
Most likely because I am not an instrumentalist at ALL and I did the drums myself. I didn't want to ruin the song by messing too much with them tho. Thanks for listening, glad you liked it.
Thanks very much... I am still learning to deal with the nonsense of building my own instrument tracks instead of using loops (only because as a songwriter loops can be limiting) but I'm getting there slowly.
This was featured so i had a look..
and it being featured means your back??? :D
as for the song very eerie and spooky.
i like it. and when you voice came in it was perfect
it fits perfectly. the lyrics are great and i really know what it feels like.
Great song! Your vocals really make this song. Love the lyrics. I agree this song has a dark feeling to it. Which makes it that much better. Great work.
Wow a lot of comments happened here when I was gone... I have some catching up to do! haha Thanks for listening, I'm glad you liked it... I'm the same about dark music.
Yeah the thing with me is I have SO many influences to draw on, folk, blues, rock, pop, alternative etc etc etc... it gets hard for me to draw myself barriers about what vocals to put with what tracks lol. I just sing it how it comes out... and I guess that's how this one happened to have the tinge of blues in it. Thanks for listening, glad you liked it :) ~lisa
Thanks very much :) I wrote this about a really dark time in my life... and I didn't want to overdo the music because I wanted the lyrics to be the focus.EV added his own dimension to it, I loved that. Glad you liked it :) ~Lisa
All spacey, beats nice and snappy!!!Over compressed though.... nice snare on that click / snap sound would do wonders!!!!Vocals excellent IMO, sounds very pro!Nice subtle little effects on the vocals making it sound good!I would recommend you for all vocal mastering to anybody! Where the rapper comes in you could twist it by adding a realy moody type sub bass, and tempo up the ghost hi-hats will give a real vibe to the track. This have potential!!!!
Must have been the original OS sound that was overcompressed because I never did any compression on the drums once I made the loop... even added reverb lol. I'll have to go in and mess around with it with a fresh mind to see what I can do to add a snare to it. Also I like the idea of the sub-bass... I am still learning to put together tracks so any advice for adding dimension always helps Thanks for helping out! ~Lisa
I really love this one. as for the beat? check out my youtube profile youtube.com/powderspazz and i have a drum type tutorial up there for ya. looperman is suppose to put them on here but till then check em out.. might help. but my god im in love with your voice.
Hahah I'm glad you liked it. I dunno how much the tutorials will help (I dunno if I mentioned when we were chatting but I'm horribly ADD lol) but I'll try. I think for now I'll use other beats as structures to build and hope for the best. Thanks for listening :) ~lisa
Description : Feel free to check out the video on YT as well (Alan McLaren Project - Upside Down) of this 6min journey from electronic to rock with some psychedelic moments...
This is my latest, but also one of my earliest tracks.... any feedback is more than welcome, thanks :)
Description : 'The main point of this song is really about the frustrations of living in the overload of today's World of Tech. The consequences are impaired communication and that if you advance too far you end up diminishing what you had to start with, so you are way worse off.' Enjoy a 60s Rhythm with a modern deep Bass, a Sitar, a Piano from EvilPianist, a lost flute from UniverseHuston and some Oscillators :-)

Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.
Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.
Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.
