Really excellent song. I agree with eveeryone that the vocals are top notch, they remind me a bit of Beck personally. The rest of the song however does not. The guitar solos are way to good. The mix sounds good to me too. Nice work! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Spivkurls, I have to say I have not listened to Beck but they are a modern band, am I right? If so then I am extra chuffed cos I need to modernise my sound. Glad you like the guitar playing I think it should have been a lot better but then I'm never happy with what I produce. Just so very grateful you took time to listen and post an appreciation.......kindest regards.....dylanthermos.

Hi there Mr. Dylanthermos,

Came over to listen to your rock song as you just reviewed one of my Blues tunes.
I too like the guitar sound in the beginning. Good lead work.
The vocals sound good. Did you record yourself twice to give it an almost harmony sound?

Very nice. Thanks for posting and sharing,
Randy

Hi Dylan...as a follow up, I think a lot people do give reviews back once your known and been on here awhile. However, if you look at your review of a particular song.....and then scroll down the page to near the bottom, you can see all who have played your song. Now it is quite true you may have 34~ listens, but only 3-5 reviews, which really isn't much.

That happens to all of us. Some of the guys that have been on here the longest, will have naturally more reviews.

So myself, I never worry about it as if I can get 3 reviews out of 100 listeners, I am happy with that myself. Just means I don't have to give a review back to all the others who just listened, but didn't comment back. :-)

Then you can check the downloads of your songs too. That is helpful as well as that means someone really liked the tune.

Now...that being said, if you don't get any reviews, then you might want to make sure you post a notice of your song into the 'members tunes' forum so as to alert others that you have a song up and are asking others to give it a listen.

I'd say if 50 people listen to your song and NO reviews back, then I guess they didn't like it as most people don't want to give a negative review so as to hurt someones feelings. (Like...if you can't say something nice,...don't say anything at all)
Anyways, hope this bit of info helps.

Well smart intro! I also like those tight vocal harmonies, I hope I'm not insulting you when I say the vocals remind me of Status Quo (great british band in my mind). Awesome lead work!!!

Cheers Slap...

Hi Mr. johnson,
Thanks for the kind words. To say I sound like Status Quo is quite a compliment in my eyes, just like me they are from the old school.I joined this site to try to pick up some new ideas to make my sound come out younger. If at all possible.
I just love making music and writing songs.....Will reciprocate review asap..........kindest regards.......Dylan Thermos (Wales)

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.

Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.

Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).

Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.
