hi Aaron, life is just busy at the moment and i haven't done anything for about a month, i've just turned 60 so had a few celebrations, bought the FLkey 61 midi it fantastic and Im getting an audio interface and better mic XLR. hopefully everything will sound even better when i work it all out lol, i need to find time to bring fresh, Ive got some good tracks wrote too but work and life in general are just too busy, thats why this as been up a month, hope to get something down soon

my bruv, thankyou so much, words are a gift, I happened to find I had a bit of a talent and could write a good lyric, words used correctly with passion and belief also stir emotions in others, like your feeling towards our lord, thats how i feel about beats, if you deliver it correctly and its believable others will relate to it too.

thanks Angel, i had a real good go at this one, i do far less tracks now and try to bring quality as apposed to quantity, I still love to write tho' I've bought a good bit of kit too, my engineering as improved massively which also helps, music makes me feel happy inside and out and my passion is still as big, this community are part of my passion too, theres a bag full off talent

ok Jared, i enjoyed this one and thought it was mixed well too, its had a good response which is always a positive and keeps the motivation ticking, Ive had a few quickies myself and had great results, but i put the work in on the vox big time with this, thanks for the stop

thanks bruv, as Artist we are all creative in our own ways, we know what we want and we set out to achieve it. but sometimes we do better than we thought, we've all had them good days, this was one of them for me,
i done the vox, it was ok, i done another vox 2 days later a Friday evening, on saturday morning, i done it again and on the sat evening i opened my Daw and done another bloody vocal, then started the production, so theres 4 voxs on this, each are layered 4x, all slightly different fx, then stacked on top of each other, i used very little compression, couple of verbs, hall and plate and 2 delays, but i spent about a week on and off on the vox and ad-libs production, i think the quality shows, i was thrilled with it :-)

lol, I had an absolute ball on this bro, massive smile on my face, it turned out better than i thought, cheers for the stop

thanks for the stop Bear, i was really pleased with the finished product, possibly the best i've achieved in terms of layout and engineering, I'll never say perfect because it leaves no room for improvement but i know now in my own mind of what I'm trying to achieve and Im a gonna roll with it :-)

Actual my accent isn't Brummie, I'm a Smoggie (Google it lol) I'm from the North-East of the UK, closer too Scotland than Brum, Edinburgh is 1 hours drive, 3 hours to Birmingham, i married a Brummie and lived here since 21 after i finished the Holiday camps. my kids and Grandkids are all Brummies and yeah I've picked up a bit tho, so your not totally wrong lol

hello Anthony, thanks for your constant support. I enjoy what i do far more now as I've got a much better workflow, my preparation is the same, just the way i do things is different. i have pictures in my head of what i want to achieve and how I want to run my project but i felt i never really got everything i wanted, or as I pictured most times, even tho the tracks performed well.
But this time I got my 100% well i think it probably hit 105% i was so happy with the final master, possibly my last 4 tracks have all been pretty close in terms of vocal mix and layout. i would say I'm more consistent because I've stayed within my comfort zone with rap, now i do multiple takes on vox and engineer each one different, i can have up to 20 layers to get this type of result and the clarity is what has struck me most, sometimes i thought i sounded muddy even when others didn't say, thanks again mate, your worth a good reply and always will be

thanks Dan, it was a fun one to do, but this year I'm looking to work with more community members, on their tracks, i'll still dabble but i wanna get some community work going, there so much talent here and i want to try a few new things, hope your good after your little break

thankyou Micky, everyday is a school day, i have a new and settled approach these days, i used to just do one take everything verse chorus ad-libs, then multi layer arrange mix chop etc, now i do all separate 3 vox takes so i can change the tone or how i deliver it, and multi layer them, volume is the trick, all different, the finish tends to be better and my engineering has improved has as my knowledge, its an absolute pleasure for me to read my peers and artist i respect say they can here the improvement, thanks mate, that's all the motivation needed

good evening Mark, Im just about to retire 11.30 pm UK, work tmro, i am trying to be more consistent in my style, i've amassed a lot of gear now midi new mic, and I'm also learning how to use delay and verb without it sounding muddy and instead of putting another EQ on and pumping the volume Im using saturation more and stereo separation, thay make a huge difference the vox cut through well, thers a .6 ms delay on the verb on this so the vocal is clear, yet you still get the right amount of fx which i had on a bus chanel then on to the master all tequiniques i've had to learn and swat up on, my next is a little more subtle, more autobiographical its called 'Man Behind dime' lol

thanks Kay, i do try, I've been working on my delay and reverb, quite a bit, you never want too much but I've learnt using the pre-verb slider, it shifts when the verb starts, the vocal comes first then the verb, its a 1.6ms spread and I time my verb to come at .6 .7ms, the vocal is always clear and never muddy, I used
little-plate luxe Verb and fruity reverb 3 on the reverb bus, i was pleased with the result lol

Rita i had a scream doing this track, i didn't have a title, i was considering 'i'll tell ya were I'm heading, but when i played it my mate, i said i think i might of went crazy on it, he listened and said you went crazy alright , its great bro, its you down to a T, why dont you call it crazy, which made me think, i only say crazy in the cuz your going crazy, so copied the crazy only and added it through the track, i also recorded my vocals different, i done the verses, then i done the ad-libs seperate, it works much better, so from now on verse chorus ad-libs all done seperate, it shows in the finish and its quicker and easy when it comes to production
