It's wonderful to hear that the music made you smile and brought back memories of America. As a US veteran, you certainly have a special connection to this country, and it's nice to know that our song touched you.
Life has its ups and downs, but I am grateful for the experiences and encounters it has given me. I hope that you did just as well and that you experienced many positive moments.
Thank you for your kind words and I wish you all the best!
If you don't know what to say in regards to the day we're living in. I think this is a great message that you are sharing. Just a way to progress the forum and compliment the day. I love when people record in good faith. Just keeping it clean when building a record. Every word counts.
love your vocals (nice to find someone who knows how to record them properly on LM) and the sparse piano accompaniment fits just perfect. Big well done to you...will have to check your pellas (have seldom found any that aren`t vocal fx lately). Big well don
Hello, thanks for your message. We also thought about adding additional instruments. But we consciously decided to keep the song spartan. We believe this has the greatest impact.
Kind regards, Manuela
This is such a beautiful song that spreads such a great message. It can be played in any medium. Your vocals incorporated with the piano brings such richness of quality. I have to look into more of your music!
Love the piano and your voices complement each other so well. I've just been watching a Netflix documentary called Turning Point, all about the cold war. There was a big section on the unification of Berlin. The take home message from that other parts of that story is that despite appearances, the people have power. People power!!
I agree that people power is the greatest force created by man. But this power moves slowly. It takes a lot for a people to not only protest but to rebel against their leaders. In this day and age, when most people are doing well, rebellion seems unlikely. Of course there is dissatisfaction and criticism of politicians, but no one wants to lose what they have. We have become accustomed to a false sense of security and now realize, painfully and paralyzed, how quickly our dreams in life can be destroyed. Who would have thought that there could be war again in Central Europe? Or who could have predicted the division in American society? In addition, there is the political right-wing development in Europe. The clouds on the horizon are thickening and our freedom is threatened like rarely before.
But it's also nice that you like our music! *smile
Kind regards and have a nice weekend Manuela
You can't imagine how much that makes me happy! I can understand how wonderful it must be when your child leaves his closed world behind, even if just for a moment. Opening up a little and showing some emotion. The fact that you told me this means more to me than any praise for our music. Now I'm a little touched myself.
All the best, Manuela
Oh my God, someone again showing me how old I am with their words *smile*. But Robin, you're right, Mel is only two years older than my oldest daughter. Kind regards, Manuela
This is so lovely! Wonderful job to both of you with the vocals. The piano is on point and the perfect accompaniment to the singing.
Ah, freedom. Something we keep losing in America, sad really. Banning books, college curriculum and trying to conform people to be who they aren't so their right wing, autocratic, religious agenda is forced on everyone. Freedoms aren't missed till they are taken away. But it's refreshingly and proudly sang about here. Heartwarming, thanks ladies for helping me restore my faith in humanity!
I'm glad to hear you like the song, Wayne. It may not quite fit into this world of hard beats and deep bass, but a little contrast certainly doesn't hurt *smile*.
Yes, freedom is a thing. There are always egomaniacs who want to limit the freedom of others in order to increase their own. Living at the expense of others is not my thing either. I've heard that there are serious problems in the States regarding this. My daughter recently returned from a two-month trip across the United States and reported on the political divide. But here too, social problems are increasing. I'm afraid we're sitting on a powder keg that could explode at any time! Many don't seem to notice.
Therefore the song.
Kind regards with the hope for a better world
Manuela
having your voice in my mind sounds a hell of a lot better than mine in yours Manuela :)) lovely acoustic piece, Mel has such a soft delicate voice and is lovely in duet with you, your voice is far more mature sounding if you get what im saying, thats experience and age, oops sorry Manuela, beautiful keys from Claudia too, a lovely soft track delivered beautifully, tight harmonies thankyou girls, great lyric sheet, its also the second time we've sort of matched on theme with our tracks
Thanks Paul! Also for reminding me of my age *laughs. But you're right. In this song Mel sounds much more youthful, which she undoubtedly is. I would also like to release one of their album songs here on LM. Let's see if that becomes possible. Unfortunately, I can't decide that on my own. But I am convinced that the girl has great talent.
Unfortunately, I'm not that happy with the keys on this song. But since we're not releasing this song, we kept the recording effort low. So the song is an exclusive LM production, smile. I'm even thinking about making my vocals available here as acappella, as a kind of thank you to the community. But to do this I need upload permission from LM, which I requested but haven't received yet.
Kind regards, Manuela

Description : A track I did with a friend ages ago. I play the guitar and he sang and wrote the lyrics. The lyrics came mostly from headlines in the newspaper that sunday. Recorded using a crappy old microphone direct into cubase with a few overdubs
Description : Remastered March 2023. Recorded live on two mics. For my wee daughter Tui; I wrote it sitting on the bathroom floor, keeping her company while she was in the bath....
Description : Again, another early production from like two years ago. I had a cheap little Yamaha acoustic guitar that I borrowed and mic'd and some congas that were given to me as a birthday present. I used my iPad GarageBand app to record the strings and the big bass drum thingy at the interlude and little electric guitar parts in there too haha. All the vocals were done by myself and my brother throws in some little things here and there with his voice :P Enjoy!
