Description : It starts off as an ambient piece with a quiet piano and drum part and then turns into a DnB drum line with spastic piano all over the place. I've started work on mastering, so other than adding a few drops to the drums, it's mostly finished now.
Drums are heavily sliced chillout and DnB loops at 75 bpm and 150 bpm respectively. I played the piano the first time through for a more natural feel, but I've mostly been placing the notes in by hand to fine tune the sound. I assembled it in FLStudio 8 using Toxic Biohazard to generate the ambient chords, FL Keys with some filters for the piano and the bassline, and whatever the default slicer is for the drumline.

Thank you; It's one of my favorite songs too. I have no idea what came over me when I wrote it, but I remember it taking at least 60 or 70 hours to get to the "yeah, I think this song is gonna be good" stage.
Thank you. This is one of those tracks I jam out to on my ipod for half the song before I realize it's one of mine. Definitely one of my inspired pieces.
I'll put it back up on featured, on the off chance that helps someone else see it.
This is an exceptionally haunting piece of music.
Beautifully orchestrated-A fantastic balance of rythm and piano.
It has a movie soundtrack feel to it and I think it has potential to go very far.Love it.A def fav!!
Man this is way cool! I digg this one alot. Great work man and kudos to you on a cool track. Faved! Man the drum work is awesome! What are you using to do these drums?
The intro part is a chillout drum loop (or four) I rearranged to fit the right kind of swing (I think it started as a four on the floor beat). When the next kit adds in, it was a very plain chillout loop at the same low speed. I started doubling hits on the loops, moving elements around, and generally changing the sound to match what I had in my head.
The last set of drums to add in was a Drum and Bass loop at twice the speed of the chillout ones. I mostly left this one alone, only doing a few minor tweaks to get it to overlay the other kits more naturally.
All in all, I think it's eight or nine loops I sliced and chopped and rearranged. I've been using FL Studio's SlicerX plugin for my slicing, if that's helpful to hear.
I really like the general atmosphere of the track.Makes me think of Brian eno or Moby.I love the sound of the piano and the different layers of I really got caught by your track instantly.Wonderful!
I love Moby's work, particularly his older stuff from around the time Go made it big, and for some reason his rock album really clicked with me. I haven't heard any of Brian Eno's work, so I'll have to check him out. Thank you for the review.

strange but well made sounds
I know how hard it is to get the right drums to make a track sound full, so props to you for that, they sound great
Paino's a real great touch as well, but its really long though, other than that, there is nothing more i'd add or take away fromt his
Nice track man, keep it up
God Bless
Steve
I got into the groove of this track very quickly, I think it's the drums, they really got me into the feel of the song. I love the filtered piano that comes in, and the guitar[?] chords are really nice. The lead piano melodies are great, a lot of variation, really mixes the song up. The layered drum beat that starts at around 2:30 is brilliant, makes the song a bit heavier and bulky. All in all a fantastic track.
I'm glad I found this one.
Peace,
Helix
Edit: Just read the description, when I said guitar chords I was refering to the Toxic Biohazard sounds.
I appreciate the review, particularly because it comes from you. I love your DnB tracks; they're gorgeous.
I'm still working on how to make drums sound natural (or unnatural but awesome), so I'm basing my beats around a sliced loop, then re/moving/adding elements until I get the sound I like. I glad it didn't sound too spastic when the second drum set adds in.
I've really enjoyed writing it. I hadn't thought of doing vocals, but I think they'd fit nicely.
Due to a foreclosure on my landlord, I'll be moving up north in a week or two. I have a friend in the area who does a lot of indie work, and his voice is... incredible, in a death cab for a cutie sort of way. I think I'll see if I can get him to put a track down for me. I'll upload if/when that happens.
It's a cool track, makes me think of the Cure circa 2000 or somethin, minus the Robert Smith sad voice. Almost sounds like those pads are getting digital clipping or something, maybe the sound is intentional, or maybe it's my bad speakers (probably). Nice work!
Edit- I think I did some damage to my ears yesterday, so don't worry too much. I been playing to much gibson organ, I think I got midrange tinitus or something. Cool song!
I thought I'd fixed the clipping problem. It might be an artifact caused by the 128kbps render, or I may just suck at mastering. I have a compressor on the pad channels I'll try adjusting. I appreciate the feedback.

Description : the other end of the scale from me, yep people, this is a ballad. its for all the people who have lost somebody long before their time was due,
i used my experience of tragic loss and how i hid my mental health issues that stemmed from it while writing it, its repetitive but has fresh verses
its to Matthias music Du Bist Nicht Mehr Hier almost the same title, He has suffered too that's why he wrote the music and dedicated it to his brother. i hope i have done it justice
Description : This track contains several loops, all of them are from looperman artists - listed below. I don't know if "ambient" fits well for it, but i get most loops from that category. :)
Inspired by the Final Fantasy series and my ex girlfriend. Hope you will enjoy it (not my ex! :D). As always, free to use for a song, any opinions-critics welcomed... UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Post script: The word "Ambient" has come up several times in the comment section for this, so I switched the genre to that. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.
Description : Ambient, psychedelic chill out rock or something or rather. Lyrics, vocals, guitars and keyboards myself. One drum loop used (free Loopmasters ambient pack). If you want a bit of a back story on the words check the lyric page.
Description : I made this with Garageband and was inspired by Anime music, such as Naruto. And if you noticed one little part is very similar to one of the melodies.
Description : EDIT: I adjusted the ending as per Paperkup's suggestion. I like it better. Maybe you will too.
The realization, and inevitable acceptance that the last ember of life is smouldering into obscurity. Then finally, and peacefully, exhaling the final breath of life.
This is a dark ambient track that will go between two of my other tracks. A good pair of headphones/earbuds are highly suggested for this one.
Opinions and criticisms are welcome. Enjoy, and take care. V.
Description : Depression and sadness can sometimes serve as motivation for creativity as in the case of this track. A few months back I went through a period of loosing a few friends and co-workers. Attended a few funerals and as a result found myself reflecting on life. One night I had the urge to try to transfer my feelings into music and this is what came out. Some baratone guitar accompanied by synth and accapella.
Final EDIT: Further tweaking on levels and a slight change up in the timimg of the choir section.
Description : I intentionally made this song minimalistic. The drums I spliced together from some drum loops I had, there's one other loop in the mix, the rest of the instruments are played by me (bass and synths). I used the excellent (and free) Cakewalk z3ta+ vst and the BBC Symphony vst. My intention was to create a very simple and dream like ambient track. Feel free to download or comment. Feedback is always welcome. Thanks.
Description : Hello,
this is a track between composition and cover.
Amandine (Sova Berry or Dine on soundcloud) made a cover of the a cappella "Song of Sophia" by Dead Can Dance.
I liked it very much, so i decided to make an instrumental with her vocals.
Hope you'll like it and if you want to comment, you are welcome, whatever you think.
