like the free form approach that allows you to take the sounds where you want without everything fitting in a genre box..contemplative mix & some really cool sounds zootman...kudos on the production too..

    Hello Chris,
Wonderful! The comparison with Bowie's LOW is justified, but I think you also have your own style here. It's a really nice trip. Really impressive. I liked it a lot!

I like this. So much that I had to fave it. I don't know why. The sounds are very lovely, I guess that's why. There's no beat, of course, and yet it had no problem carrying me along to the end, because it has its own internal rhythm, I suppose. It must. Ethereal and lovely and strange, and pretty wonderful. Thank you.

Excellent ambient track. Like xstokes said, the wandering guitar gives it a real 60's/70's rock sound. I really enjoy the variety of sounds you've included. Great track.

You're now in the go straight to your comments league.

I live for this atmospheric freestyle kind of sound. I know
from experience it's not as easy as it sounds by a long shot.

Not knowing how to use a vst should never be a limiting factor when using it, lol. Just play with the knobs and turn things on and off, it's amazing what sounds or effects can be made just by playing with it. This is cool, spacey, out there, creative, creepy at times. Sounds like you did something right despite not knowing the plugin. Nice production overall, sounds good!

Listening to this inspiring me I've never tried this genre. I better take notes lol it is psychedelic but it sounds more ambient in the way. For some reason I can't create without a drum beat. Lol i feel like i want to throw one lol

    Reply by Zootman

well i was gonna call it ambient but it sounded a bit boring! do it bro, drum beat or not, its always good to exeperiment and try to push your comfort zones.

Description : Dear Loopers...Let Ed and me take you to the world of yet another musical fantasy born out of our latest collab efforts. Ed provided basic structure of the track with ever solid rhythm section, tasty synths and vocal pads while I took
on a role of pretending to be multi-instrumentalist again by smuggling in some sweet strings, bulgarian flute, celtic harp,
unexpectedly blurry piano and this time a tiny bit of real live acoustic guitar...what an adventure for a vst/keyboard guy..:) As always
my sincere thanks to Ed not only for letting me enjoy his great musical company but also for still standing as one of the firm pillars of Looperman society !

Description : I went to the beach and set up my stereo recording mic under a gazebo near it (I apologize for some of the air gusts being recorded haha; we had a strong SE wind that day :P Tried my best to place it out of the wind); wanted to record myself playing live and do some cheesy roleplay in the process - wanted to make it feel like the listener was sitting there beside me. ** This is what the beach looks like: http://static.travel.usnews.com/images/destinations/80/south_padre_island_main.jpg **

Lo and behold, I'm about halfway through the song when my buddy Mark, a friend from college, heard me singing and decided to join me (he seems to never part with his guitar lol).

The expression on his face was that of confusion as to why I had my mic with me and a audio-capturing device, which I plugged into an outdoor electrical plug that the gazebo owners installed lol (I've done recordings like this before but didn't like the results; we messed up a little at the end but I was like meh it's not bad anyways.) but I'm glad he didn't say it out loud or it would have ruined the recording lol. Luckily, I was playing a song he and I wrote together some time ago, so he was able to just jump right in. He's a great guitar player.

Even though it was a little awkward at the end since we hadn't seen each other for like 4 months (you might be able to tell by the way I responded to his "thats so cool" comment haha), I think it turned out just fine. It was a lovely evening and the clouds were all poofy and happy. Lots of people were there too, though I made sure to sit far away from all of them. Ahh, it was a beautiful day. I'm glad I live by the ocean :P * Just kidding, I recorded this in my studio; though I do live close to the water, this was not recorded there :P I did everything, down to the wind blowing into the mic, except for the sound of water and the kids in the background. I got those sounds here: freesfx.co.uk/login/

The guitars and vocals were one-takes to give a more realistic feel. No pitch-correction or autotune. Just wanted to try making another soundscape (or whatever you want to call this :P) about what it's like to live by the ocean.

Description : the other end of the scale from me, yep people, this is a ballad. its for all the people who have lost somebody long before their time was due,

its to Matthias music Du Bist Nicht Mehr Hier almost the same title, He has suffered too that's why he wrote the music and dedicated it to his brother. i hope i have done it justice

Description : Glen Cloy is one of the glens of Antrim (Tumbleweed's county) in Northern Ireland. The little people, actualy fairies, populate all of them and they all have very old ghost stories that have been told for centuries (and still are)...This one is about Shaman of old and his journeys through the spiritual world...That sums up what Ed told me about the concept for our 7th (how convenient^^) collab work. The main core of the track is Ed's work and the original length was 5:18, but I wouldn't have been Orlando if I didn't tempt to compose my longest intro to date (3:10) to inject my own fantasies about little creatures of Glen Cloy (soft spot for spiritual world..hehe..). Other than that I also added some synths arrangements and vocal samples for the rest of the track and probably ruined it a bit..haha..but that's how collabs are sometimes..:)^^.....All my thanks to Ed...and Irish ghosts ofcourse...
