Description : This song started out as a guitar and piano loop instrumental where I was experimenting with themes and variations. Then it called forth lyrics and I wrote the song and recorded the vocals with Sunny War over the instrumental. But the music clouded the purity of the vocals and so we stripped it all away and Sunny just played guitar. I think her vocals sound particularly beautiful and vulnerable in this piece, and her guitar work as always just seems perfect to me. Very interested in your thoughts on the stripped-down approach to the music and the sentiments expressed in the song. Thank you.

Description : This is my attempt at the one-hour challenge for LM (finished at 57 min 48 sec). I had to mix/master on the go and this was the result. Some bad chords here and there that I did my best to conceal, one-takes on guitar and piano and used an awesome acapella from a1000times, who wrote the words that Dikaiko sang over. I really like her voice. Anyhoo yea, I like this one a lot so probably gonna come back to this in the near future. Comments welcome.

Description : I put this under acoustic even though I did use a couple midi tracks. I felt they sounded acoustic enough to put the track in that category. Suppose it could be chill out as well, however you want to label it, do so. I used an Indian flute and an electric guitar sounding plugin with some tremolo added along with acoustic guitar, mandolin and harmonica. Nothing too complicated here and I felt it sounded good enough to upload so enjoy!

Absolutely beautiful. Love the minimal approach, so vulnerable and personal, vocals and only guitar. We've become a society of intolerance and bigots, religion is no help either, I'll leave it at that. Yeah I totally agree the minimal aspect here really allows the focus to remain on the vocal and the power of the words. The guitar track is clean with beautiful tonality and the playing is tight. I like the choice of using a picking style here instead of strummed chords. Extremely well played, with some really slick articulation. The lyrics are poignant and convey a powerful message that is still a real issue within our racially divided society. Its a sad song really. To me it relates a view that when you break it down is really common to all sides. We continue to allow differences and past mistakes to cloud our judgement and foster mistrust and hatred. I someday hope songs like this won't have to be written bro, but who knows when or if that day will ever come.
