Producer of a variety of music, based in London.
Started making music on a Playstation 2 (and Music 3000) back in 2006, so have amassed almost 20 years of hobbyist producing experience.
A few of my projects can be found in the Soundcloud link below.
Have never really struggled for musical ideas as can be (and have been) inspired by something as simple as a single bass note. But it's the mixing which takes me time to get to a polished level. Definitely my weak point... but I'm working on it and (hopefully) getting better at putting out more polished tracks in more recent times.
The best piece of advice I ever heard, when it comes to mixing, is:
MIX IN MONO!!!
I've found that it really helps to get all the elements sounding their best before levelling up to stereo and getting on with panning, etc., as it can help to highlight where Phase is taking place in the mix.
None really. Used to play violin at school and dabbled a little with the piano as a youth too.
Studio One Pro 7, Serum (1 & 2), various free VST plugins such as Analog Lab V, and a few others I managed to get in the sales, like Clarity VX, etc.
Have also been a subscriber to Soundsonline's OPUS suite.
Arturia MiniFuse2 audio interface, AT2020 Microphone.
Random stuff. Usually chill music or a new album I've yet to hear.
D'Angelo by D'Angelo, wip3out sountrack, Tenchu soundtrack, Best of Blur, Choral Classics, 2001, The Slim Shady LP, Simple Things.
deadmau5, gartner, robinson, soundgarden, nirvana, silverchair, zimpala, zero 7, wip3out soundtrack, future sound of london, lisa gerrard, d'angelo, oasis, blur, video game music (VGM), dukwa, tensnake, xxxtentacion, eminem, dre, snoop, biggie, xzibit
A variety of different artists influence my style and so my sound is a bit like thiers, but hopefully unique enough to be called my own.
live in a parallel universe, in which music is life and people dance in the streets, come rain or shine. The clouds rain music and the binary star system beams down a light show like no other.
