Description : This is my effort for Static Nomads thread "make a track in the style of another looper"
I chose Mr Funktastic because he's got so many cool loops. I just pinched one of his funky basslines and built around it. It's not as good as Joe does it but hey! It was fun to do something a little different from usual.

    Mr funk you are indeed!
I listened to the first min and thought "this is very good FreeRad stuff" but the old funkster in me thought how cool it would be if the kick and the snare dropped hard...then it did at 1:20,wow!!
I shoulda known you would know what to do with this track.
I'm dealing with some health problems at the moment but I propose that in the near future some funky guitar riffs wouldn't hurt the track at all, which I would love to provide...with your permission of course.

    Great track my friend.
    Allen.

    Hi MrRadical,
Good track! I know that we must credit a lot to the bass loop from MrF... this is soooooo funky.
But we cannot ignore the wonderful job you have done here: everything works very well and the resulting track is really a mixture of the genius of two good musicians.
    Very well done!
    Ciao, Domenico

PS: I really like the "moving synth" phrases you build (e.g. 4:02)

Any time I hear that MrFunktastic style I`m totally in the groove...The man is a big talent and a most generous friend with sharing the sound....I have to think Joe would like this one FR...its good ...some of those transitions are more like your own style (as it should be) but you def got the funk going on here...you just can`t sit still when this is going on...great job...and a fine tribute to one of our finest friends....Ed

That is cool you gave this a go and tried Joe's funk style mixed with an element of your influences. Some cool changes and breaks. Sound like some retro/disco funk-alicious dance music from the 80's. I would have to say your mission was accomplished, sounds like Free Funktastic music to me!

Wow, man. This IS funky! It's definitely not your style, and it's a good tribute to MrFunktastic. The whole time I listened I wondered if you were going to toss in some full on FreeRadical style. But you didn't. Just elements of your own style. I really liked this one, and the way you did it.

It's good to see that at least someone's already got a track in the game. Hopefully more will, too. This is exactly what that "game" is supposed to be.

    Take care.

I just took one of MR F's loops and built around it. I would have liked to have put some sort of funky solo over the top of it but alas i don't have any of those funky VST's that joe uses so it is what it is. I might try another one as it's fun to try and make stuff a little different. I just hope a few more people hop on "the game" (and i don't mean turn to prostitution)

hi FR. bass groove is really cool here - it's something like a combination of a bass guitar and a clavinet. It makes my body moving which is great. Tasteful usage of loops as always!

It was a fun piece to make though so i might do another one.

    Yo funky funky.

    Cool one for sure.
I realy start loving it when the funky spaceship starts (2:31)and all gets a trippy feeling of a flight to mars or elsewhere in universe. Maybe Shaft himself is on the way, with some of the cool brown sugar girls.

    I like it :)

    stay tuned

    Hey FreeRadical,
I think that you and Joe should collab! You are quite the funky musician! If you both made a funk track and worked harmoniously, it would be great!

    Just a thought,

I guess it already is sort of a collab as the bassline was written by Mr F. I just had the job of "painting" round it and it was fun to do.

If only i could find a vocal to fit. I used to use the acapellas all the time but these days i can't seem to find anything that fits my style. Even purchased vocals are a bit shite so i guess i'm stuck with another instrumental.

This track is a heavily sampled break beat melange featuring Russian vocalist Doctyabrev and excerpts of speeches in languages of the other three countries including Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, and Marina Silva of Brazil. There's a whiff of Maceo's "Cross the Tracks" in there too.

All started with a Future Bass Drum with Reverb at 140 BPM. It sound like Dubstep and then all go fast. A very Deep Synth Flute with Reverb as Bass. Hig Synth for the Melody. High Flute with Reverb for other. And High Wobbling Synth with stereo Phaser. Many Crazy Snares and lite Stick Hits as Percussion with Reverb. End a Pad with the same Stereo Phaser effect. Yeah thats it. I work 4 Hours at this Track. Sounds Like Future Bass or Dubstep with a lite Happy EDM touch. Please leave some Feedback. Which genre is this? Whats good , Whats Bad? Just wanted to take a look at the wave form here on Looperman too...is it still a brick? This is just the second assignment for the Ableton Live course (you can read about it in the forums). Having issues with the compression, clipping and distortion.
Edit2: Made an update and took away some audio effects and reduced others. Maybe it's sounding a little clearer now. Also added some midi tracks and rearranged the mix a bit.

Description : This track is one of those that come together in the weirdest of ways... By saying that I mean this: When you listen to it (and I hope you do), the 'sawtooth bass' you hear in the track is actually a bass drum played at 128 notes and 256 notes..! On top of that is one of my funkiest beats to date - and it's made to sound sonically pleasing production wise. I've added some odd time signatures in there (4/4 to 3/4 & 6/8) for variation and I've added some timbales / bongos too. The track revolves around the drums in reality so please enjoy.
