Description : Although this is a brand new song, if you're over 35 and a musician, you've probably played many songs similar to this one. It's another 60s vibe which is quite usual for me. If any songwriters or singers want to tackle it, let me know and we can work something out. Love to hear your thoughts and comments.

Wow wow wow!
You really have captured the sixties sound here.
I love it and have downloaded it.
This place amazes every time I log in.
This track reminds me of Richard Hawley ...
There's a Storm a Comin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjmnibuGC80

He puts a lot of time and effort into getting a modern take on fifties sixties sounds.
Fantastic track you've done here.

Thanks, Silverman. Glad you like it.

I still remember your very first dissing comment to me on my 'covers' site when you said I need to 'GET IT TOGETHER.' See, I'm not such a terrible musician after all!

Anyway, 'water under the bridge,' so no heart feelings.

Cheers,
Scott

Nice description, knew(almost) what to expect. :)

Great production, as usual, and a nice composition. I love this kind of music, really brings you back to a simpler time. Excellent job!

Thanks allot, Wayne. Glad you like it. Yeah, I'm kinda stuck in the past. The music back than was so pure and real.

I have another oldie in the works that's a real toughie. It's 'Fantasy' by Earth, Wind & Fire. I have over 20 tracks, so far and plan to add more.

Scott

Yep, I recognize that guitar riff but i like the way you mixed this, with the organ and all. a professional mix, listing to the panning, nothing is jumbled and clashing with each other. nicely done!

Thanks, AD. Good thought and I actually have some vinyl noise loops that I've used on some of my old sounding jazz tracks.

Nice one. BTW do you happen to know if these used to be called icecream progressions?
ScottB55
ScottB55 replied 6th Aug 2014 - 11 years ago
Hey VS,

Thanks for your comment.

I'd never heard of 'icecream progressions' but I googled it and I believe this track would fall in that category. Thanks for teaching me something.

Scott

Got that "House of the rising sun" Guitar line plus a few others...
Second Sax was a bit outside harmonically, but worked...

All in all, cool track....

Peace...TG.

ScottB55 replied 3rd Aug 2014 - 11 years ago
Thanks allot, TG. Ya know, I debated about second sax, but decided to keep it. These were some loops I had. I couldn't find anything that worked perfectly, but these seemed close enough for jazz!

Very nice work on this one Scott. The only thing this one is missing is a good set of vocals. I agree with you, this really does sound like its a song from back in the day. I really liked the jazz feel you put on this later in the track, that really caught my attention.

Overall great work, as usual!

Hi Modnex,

Thanks for your kind words. You are right...I'd love to have some vocals on this and many other tracks of mine, but I put out the request, but to no avail. Do you sing? My collaborators and I would love to have you aboard, if you do.

Cheers,
Scott

This is quite a gem of a tune! The "sax" break is done nicely. I think you've done a pretty good job of capturing the vibe. Well done, you!

Well it does definitely have a 60's vibe to it and the mixdown is nice and clear. I can't say as i've ever played a tune like this and i'm 39 so i must be missing something lol.
Anyway, i like the style of it and particularly the sax soloing.
This was a good listen and a very enjoyable piece.

Thanks allot, FR. I'm surprised you never played songs of this style before. It's kind of that, "House of the Rising Sun" type vibe which I think everyone has played at one time or another, but maybe I'm wrong.

Cheers,
Scott

Description : hi guys, so the object here was to write an original Christmas track that has all the Christmas trimmings but also brings home a few stark reminders, things that you don't necessarily think about as you selfishly open your presents with your families, i would describe it as a modern day festive treat, it has nods to the old, and the true meaning of Christmas, this is so not what you'd expect from dime, lol, tbf Im gassed about it :)

Merry Christmas everybody, hope you enjoy

Description : Description : Ever heard an oompah song? No? Well, today's your lucky day! Kayos likes to keep things not typical :-)

After a few mellow and emotional tunes, we thought it was time for something to lift our mood - maybe even make you grin.

This one's for all the free spirits out there - the ones who don't quite fit into a normal office job and are sensitive to environments and energies. We all seek joy from freedom in creativity.
