Hey Nick...pretty amazing sound you've got here man, huge actually...when I listen to a genre that I'm not a dilettante in it doesn't phase me one iota, music is music after all and all the rules of arrangement, mix and production values apply..I do like the immediate plunge into the main groove and then the backing off and temporal stage it gives the whole piece solid dynamics and lets it breathe....I'd really like to see how you'd go in a flower arrangement contest, and I don't say this lightly,it's a real art and takes a focused perspective to get right...I'm pretty sure you'd be good at it (unfortunately it does come with a certain effeminate stigma if your male...not that I'd know! lol)....cool stuff mate Dave

What's up. This is a cool track. I tried to get into FL but I couldn't get the hang of it, but it's a really great program. I give the up most respect for those who can use it.

I love the break from 2:43 and on, really intense but not annoying to the ears. I'm not a Breakbeat expert but it sounds really good at this end.

    You definitely have a talent.

    Hey!

This is the first track of yours I've been listening, and it made my mouth left open. It is not my habit to judge one based on a single track, but this is a special case. I am amazed of this track. Not just that, but this ^^ long comment list as well. I've tried to use this acapella as well, but could not succeed. IT is cool to hear how this one should have been used up. Two things I see in this track: Fantasy, and Work. So it gets FW. I convinced myself half a year ago, that I simply can not get on a level big authors are at. You ruined that belief, and I'm thankful for that. You are at a level I want to reach.

Thank you in return for upping my stats a little more. I'll give you a few tips about this place as well to get you going.
The first thing is that winning regular listeners around here isn't as easy as we'd all hope. You have to spend a bit of time finding peeps that will leave comments and suchlike. The best peeps to start with are the regular forum posters 90% of them will check out your tunes if you listen to theirs.
The rest unfortunately is a bit of a numbers game. I've reviewed loads of tracks this week and so far i think i've had about three back from people i hadn't previously had one from. You've just got to try not to let it p*ss you off (It does though sometimes lol)
The other one that i find probably the most effective is to use the accapellas. If you do a good job with them then people tend to drop by more often.
Oh and if you post a track that gets no response then sometimes it's just a case of bad timing. If you play it back and can't hear anything wrong with your mix then delete it and upload it again the next day. It's quite astonishing the difference that can make. I've actually been thinking about trying an experiment where i just keep uploading the same track every day to see what happens. I bet it would bag just as much a response as uploading different ones every day.
Anyway, I wont bore you any longer but hopefully this will help to get you started here.

Let me start off by saying breakbeat definitely ain't my thing..

That being said however, It's a nice full production that you've come up with which has a good progression and structure. Some cool vocal effects going on and the build up's really cool. Sound choices all complement one another and no synths sound out of place to my ears :)

I would say though, that odd bass note panned to the left unbalances the mix a bit - maybe try adding something on the hard right to restore a bit of equilibrium? That's what I'd do anyways... but other than that, good job man!

    Ciao for now player o/

    FreeRadical
    Reply by FreeRadical

Yeah, Breakbeats a funny old genre. I love the distinctive records kind of style but i'm not too keen on the fuel records kind of vibe, which seems to have been invented solely for rude boys to show how much bass the sub woofer in their boot kicks out.
There is an odd bass note panned to the side? I knew i shouldn't have done this on drugs!! Sh*t!! I'll have a look and see if i can find the offending sound.
But on the plus side, Since i know you don't like to hold back on constructive critisism i can content myself with one mistake.
    Cheers for dropping in.

Yeah, I've been trying to make good some of the half done tracks i've had floating around in the background. So far this is the only one thats made it to the end.
The vocal sample was a freebie from FL studio and it was just pure luck that i decided to peruse the demo projects and see if there was anything i could pilfer. There's some quality stuff in there and i'm suprised i don't hear more people using them to be honest.
The trippy vocals are courtesy of the fruity slicer. It just automatically chops your wavs up into whatever sized slices you want to work with and assigns them to the piano editor. It's a great tool!

Description : This is my effort for Static Nomads thread "make a track in the style of another looper"
I chose Mr Funktastic because he's got so many cool loops. I just pinched one of his funky basslines and built around it. It's not as good as Joe does it but hey! It was fun to do something a little different from usual.

Description : BRICS, the new economic powerhouse of emerging nations Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. In the struggle for economic dominance will cooperation prevail regarding climate change and other issues of global importance or will it be business as usual?

This track is a heavily sampled break beat melange featuring Russian vocalist Doctyabrev and excerpts of speeches in languages of the other three countries including Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, and Marina Silva of Brazil. There's a whiff of Maceo's "Cross the Tracks" in there too.

Much thanks to all the Looperman contributors including: Doctyabrev, fanto8bc, djnab, blueskies, buffalonugaluss, megapaul, and 7venth12. 100 bpm, key of E.

Description : I HOPE YOU ARE NOT TO LAZY TO READ THIS xD

All started with a Future Bass Drum with Reverb at 140 BPM. It sound like Dubstep and then all go fast. A very Deep Synth Flute with Reverb as Bass. Hig Synth for the Melody. High Flute with Reverb for other. And High Wobbling Synth with stereo Phaser. Many Crazy Snares and lite Stick Hits as Percussion with Reverb. End a Pad with the same Stereo Phaser effect. Yeah thats it. I work 4 Hours at this Track. Sounds Like Future Bass or Dubstep with a lite Happy EDM touch. Please leave some Feedback. Which genre is this? Whats good , Whats Bad? You know what I mean :D

Description : Made with ableton live and massive!

Description : I wasn't going to upload this because it's a headphone mix. I'm moving house so the sound system is packed but i figured what the hell, I'll edit it later if it sounds like crap. Anyway, it's mainly synths with a few loops chucked in for good measure.

Description : Hi guys!
Just wanted to take a look at the wave form here on Looperman too...is it still a brick? This is just the second assignment for the Ableton Live course (you can read about it in the forums). Having issues with the compression, clipping and distortion.
Edit2: Made an update and took away some audio effects and reduced others. Maybe it's sounding a little clearer now. Also added some midi tracks and rearranged the mix a bit.

Could this be called Breakbeat? Should I develope the bass line and/or add some more drums? I Think I like this song, it's really weird. =)

Description : This track is one of those that come together in the weirdest of ways... By saying that I mean this: When you listen to it (and I hope you do), the 'sawtooth bass' you hear in the track is actually a bass drum played at 128 notes and 256 notes..! On top of that is one of my funkiest beats to date - and it's made to sound sonically pleasing production wise. I've added some odd time signatures in there (4/4 to 3/4 & 6/8) for variation and I've added some timbales / bongos too. The track revolves around the drums in reality so please enjoy.
