About Me

Well my music is not the average banjo-player's site idea of correct playing. So I came here instead. I make my own sound-samples in 96k/24 bits but spend a lot of attention playing a 5-string banjo in a new way, sometimes far from anything like bluegrass. So far I have posted many banjo instrumentals, and am collecting many of my own sound effects.

Instruments I play

1988 Nashville built Gibson RB250. Also a little keyboard etc..

Software I Use

Gold Wave plus Sequencer - Sound Forge 7.0 and 9.0

Hardware I Use

Simple Peavy 6 into one mix, Audio Technica AT20-2. Also use Sony PCM-D50 Linear PCM Recorder for Ambient sound samples.

Listening To Right Now

Lady GaGa. A lot of talent and gumption in GaGa. Also, been listening to: Beatles 2009 Remix - Muddy Waters (Blues) - All of Johnny Cash's music - Elvis (older, like: In The Ghetto, In The Kentucky Rain, Suspicious Minds etc..) - All of Kid Rock's last few CDs - Last Bob Seger CD - Bob Dylan -

10 Favourite Albums

Bob Seger: Night Moves 1974
Bob Seger: Live Bullet 1974
Many of Alison Krauss and Union Station
Most all of Johnny Cash's music
All of the 2009 Remix of The Beatles
Genesis - M.J. - Too many to list here....

My Influences / Fav Artists

My father (who plays scruggs style), My "father's father" (who played clawhammer style), RUSH, Earl Scruggs, Bela Fleck, Bob Seger, Jean Luc Ponty, Ozzy Osbourne, The Eagles, Trance, Modern Jazz, Jimi Hendrix, John Denver, Stevie Ray Vaughan, MTV, The Weather Channel, Saturday Night Live, The Muppets, God and sobriety.

My Music Sounds Like

Love the Blues. For a banjo player I seem to dislike Bluegrass the most, but sometimes enjoy playing it with others. I always try to be original in my playing. There is no easy way of describing the sounds I make with my banjo- I have tried modifications and guitar effects.

In My Other Life I ...

Just Married.
