Description : Continuing on my "Folktronic" journey I swing by Russia.
In my quest I stumble across a few that stood out. This being one of them. The song is most famously known for being the song Type A on Tetris for Gameboy, but its based on the song Korobuska (alt. Korobeiniki) that was written in the mid-1800s.
Figured that I'd return to my House roots with this one. I threw on some pads & effects to give it an 'in-space' sort of sound. Including a few from ShortBusMusic (sweet pad in- Aminor & Cminor).

Hope yall can dig this revision of the classic Folkloric song. Lates!

I'm sure the out of time elements are done for a reason but my brain can't ignore it and a voice in my head like a drill instructor says "That's out of time! Goddammit" I'll have to listen to some of yr others. Not my thing to be honest.

I hear ya mate. This was an experiment with offsetting stuff (sorta like a way to point to signaled chaos, in-step with the game's progressive speed change). More for the psychological effect of conscious interference rather than traditional escapist immersion approach. Thanks for stopping by. Lates!

This is great stuff! The bass line and melody aren't synchronous to the beat... I recognize it as a stylistic element. And that way I can easily imagine this song to a horror movie, or a game like Silent Hill, a scary movie shot at a carousel for childs.
    Well done!
    cheers

Yeah, you pegged it mate. Sometimes I think its fun to play with stuff being off-beat or off-key just to see how it sounds. And oddly I just read an article about the city that inspired the settings for Silent Hill the other day (the fire's still burning to this day). Speaking of which, the fact that this was on Tetris made me think of the crazy game thing (though I was thinkin more like those robot-arm prize games). Glad ya dug it. Lates!

It's definitely different lol... I guess I didn't really know what to expect - and I'm not sure what to think either lol

But being honest, I *don't* really feel this type of melody belongs on a house track - that's not to say this project doesn't have merit, I agree with spiv - this is a fun track and it made me perceive a sort of,... distorted, alternative reality! :)

    Keep it up!

I hear ya mate. I'm kinda iffy on the whole "house" thing too, but was thinkin that it did give this a different vibe (sort of in the Gigi D'Agostino way). Maybe if this had lyrics like his stuff did it'd be better (match closer). Dunno? Anyways, thanks for the input. Lates!

Yeah, when I heard this song I just hadta divide it down to hear what the bass would sound like on their own (and my guess that they'd be groovy was right). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
