Description : This texture was made with a new plugin called Manifold which cuts and loops sounds into textures. This was a lo-fi loop I recorded with a sitar and a beat - Manifold has transformed it into a cityscape texture. Nice for background layers in techno or even filtered into a rumble.

Description : Always experimenting with ways to get more out of the RD-9 drum machine. This time I fed the raw audio from the hardware into an FX chain in Reason and sidechained it. The result is a thick rumble but retaining really pronounced transients. Pretty cool and quite different to Ableton.

Description : Still experimenting with the Edge today. Man this thing can make industrial noise to scare your grandma with. No wonder they call it the NIN machine haha... Just add a huge rumble kick for raw industrial techno. And a DJ filter of course!

Description : This was made using granular synthesis and some vox samples. Running through a filter bank and cycling the grains I created a spacy texture that can be used on its own as a noisebed, or you can sidechain it to your kick to get a nice rumble FX.

Description : First build-up drum loop of the day, starting with a steady, rhythmic foundation of tightly programmed snares that accelerate over time, gradually builds in complexity as layers of crisp claps, subtle hi-hats, and deep, resonant toms are added. A faint rumble of low-end kicks begins to emerge, synchronized with a background riser that grows in intensity, adding a sense of anticipation.

Description : I recently got an RD-9 and it is excellent, mostly because you can redline it to make it sound bigger and more badass without harsh artifacts. I am making a series of kickers with this machine running through an analog mixer pushed to the max. This one has added rumble from my SP-606 sampler. Enjoy.
