Description : Using the JX-08 to come up with layers for the project I am working on. Unlike my Edge and Grind, the JX is very musical and the sounds it comes out with are nice rather than harsh. I used A heap of Space Echo on this to give it more space. I also used a bitcrusher to add a bit of grit.

Description : I've gone way back to the old school today, sampling my Yamaha V50 FM synth from the 80s, then chopping up sequences from it in Mimic, then adding FX like space delay, distortion and chorus to the chops to add a bit of modern flavour. These loops can easily be re-chopped in your own sampler and the chops will stay in key.

Description : For these two house beats I sampled a couple of silly little grooves from my Casio and chopped them up in ReCyle, then combined them with punchy house drums from Kong. The lo-fi feel just comes from the Casio because it is a genuine 80s bit of kit.

Description : an upbeat, syncopated and kinda old sounding piano? old as in it sounds like its from an old game. repeats once with added strings that you can use if you like! the key here is a bit strange because the chord progression bases itself off of 2-5-1 so the 1 (D#) doesn't appear that often.progression:
