Description : TEA stand for The Emerald Asylum, the name for my electronic music project that I have used since I first started making electronic music. I use Marius9 on this site because I wanted to give a more personal, approachable feel in the forums and with people who want to contact me on a personal level. I came across this acapella when I was surfing acapellas on the newly rebuilt looperman website. The artist is Olesya Astapova, and I don't know much about her, only that she sadly has one acapella up on her page, I hope there will be more to follow. This version sped up to 140 bpm, hope you enjoy it!

Description : After a lot of debate on whether or not to post some of my new stuff before it's fully done, I decided to post a track and get some feedback before I put the vocals in. I'm working with a local vocalist who is really good, so I am building vocals from the ground up for what will be a concept trance LP album.

This Track, "Master of Space," is about when our protagonist finds himself being able to manipulate the space and actions around him, from moving mountains, to moving grains of sand, to moving the cosmos itself. Did he create this universe, or did he discover it? He doesn't know.

This is a three minute snippet of the song, I would have uploaded the whole thing, but the file is too big, and I can't have you hearing the whole thing just yet anyway ;)

Description : This is the first movement from an album in the works titled "Forgotten Symphony." Although Not formatted like a traditional symphony, this album is formatted in movements, much like Vangelis' "El Greco" album.

Uploaded at 128kbps for time.

I'm not sure what else to say on the matter, so I'll let the music speak for itself. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Description : This came from a forum post about getting your remix in an independent zombie movie. It came a little late, but the music was brewing in my head, so I decided to make it anyway. I doubt I would have entered it even if I did make it in time. Frankly, I don't really think I could take any more rejection at this moment, and I also don't think it's good enough (or the right genre) for a zombie flick. But, nevertheless, here it is for you, looperfam, enjoy.

Description : I wrote this piece for Writenow921 to use as a backing track to some spoken word stuff, and as I got more into it, I started thinking about all the bad things happening around me to my friends, my fellow loopers, and myself.

I didn't put this down as a collab, and I don't know if I should or not, I did write it for someone who's going to do something with it, but for right now, it's just me. I think I'll leave it up to him to check the collab box.

What came out is actually a little painful for me to listen to, I have to wonder what you're going to think...

Description : It was an epic internal battle to decide whether or not I wanted to upload this very old track that actually has lyrics, with me actually singing. The answer I finally decided was yes, in all of it's poorly mixed and unmastered glory. I lost the WAVs for this track after one of the many computer crashes I had endured since it was made, so I can't go in and play with any levels of anything unless I resing it, and that isn't going to happen.

I made this track late one night in October of 2008, which seems longer now than it actually was, considering how much better I have become at fine tuning mixes and whatnot.

I am sure those of you who know me on the forums hear me say time and again that I am no vocalist, and this track really proves that point. I think in all sincerity I could do it better if I had a sound proof room and a lot of time to kill, but I just don't like the nasally tone of my voice, so I don't really care to try. I DID NOT USE AUTOTUNE ON THIS TRACK. The only thing I can attribute the wavering in my voice to is the fact that it was really late and people were sleeping, so I had to do this really quietly. There are however, a two filters, a lot of reverb, and some delay, to mask the poorly sung vocals. Try not to judge them to harshly, they are what they are, and I don't presume them to be anything great. The rest of the track though, I am fairly proud of. I like all the counterpoint going on, and the subtle instruments that you sometimes can't hear because they are so buried in the mix, but, when I tried long ago to take them away, it was really noticeable.

With all that said, here it is, my first and last attempt at doing a full track (vocals included) by myself.

I still have the original lyrics, if anyone thinks they can do this song better, I still have the flp file, which means I can send you a version and the lyrics for you to sing, if you are so inclined.

Description : My first attempt at a hardcore track. Halfway through I thought "THIS IS HOPELESS!" And that's how I got the title. Eventually it got finished though, not my favorite track, but I tried using a limiter and a compressor on this one like people were talking about in the forums, and I thought the end result was pretty good as far as production, so I'm posting it. Let me know what you think.

Description : Another track I did with Solo, he originally was making this a trilogy of songs following one man's struggle through society, the mistakes he made and whether he could have avoided this outcome. This was the second installment, we never did record the first or third.

Description : For some reason, the title "Big Daddy" popped into my head as I was making this one. Thanks to SlapJohnson for the awesome sax improv. It was just what I needed to complete this track. This is the first time I have set out to make a hip hop track for a long time, I kind of got away from it for awhile, but I am really proud of this one. I'll leave it up for download, but if you download PLEASE WORK WITH IT! I want to hear some vocals over this beat, and soon!

Description : This is something I did with my boy Solo Bass V. back in 2008. I dug it out just to see what you all think about it. I'm trying to get him to join looperman, but he wants me to upload the couple of tracks to see what kind of feedback he gets as a vocalist.
This track was more a social commentary on what solo was dealing with around him at the time, and his hopes on how things would change. The first verse is done from an omnipotent point of view, the second done from a dead gangbanger looking at the mistakes he and those around him made, and feeling the pain as he's cursed to stay forever on the streets until something gives way. We feel we accomplished this by adding in all the reverb at the begginning of the second verse.

Lyrics

CHORUS:
Holly globe feeling with world with no ceiling
Holly globe feeling with world with no ceiling
Holly holly globe with world with no ceiling
Holly holly globe with the world with no ceiling

VERSE I:

This the term of the sky, no limits to remind
Interrogate your life
NEVERMIND, WELCOME TO MINE
I can't live to see
I can't live to change
Pass this world to me
On a light blue frame
And it has me thinkin
As the oxygen collapses
These mean streets glide so hard
That it sells your soul
Until your mind overloads
Not enough Chromosomes
No time to pray to the lord when your message is froze
Now wait, am I thinkin?
Nah
So set the tears and fear for being a thug nigga
Lost cure for good
So misunderstood
But still trying to get by to keep your kids alive

CHORUS

VERSE II:

Welcome to the world of the holly globe feeling
Now listen
I'm just a man in my city
Owner of division, remember?
You just live here
This world's gone silly
Holly globe distance with catacombs missing
Mind disapperance
I see it in they faces
Crack education
Congress escalation
We outsourced our patience
Far from inflation
United we fall, new standard for all
So we need Obama, the mister Green Lantern
Let him handle it, fixing on the challenges
I found my fix
On the holly globe solution
Take two a day keep the haters away
Hoping I can hold my place in this hip hop race
Seeing artists saving lives
Living lies
Trying to keep the happy inside
Blown on this ecstacy and kids having babies
Now you realize that this world's gone crazy
This air is my storm and this globe is my home
It's a 711 flight
Still not my life
So I peep on my time
Keep the continueum in line
Redefine
Really don't try to deny

OUTRO:
Holly, holly holly, holly holly globe (X3)

Description : A rough mix of my band's first demo song, "Forsaken". Vocals to follow, but we seem to be having trouble finding a good female vocalist...

*update* I may have found someone on looperman that could work out, and I have allowed for download for her to get the track, because my internet use is limited. Obviously the site rules don't make you do this, but I would really appreciate that if you aren't going to sing on this track and send it back to me, that you don't download it, I don't want a finalized version being spread around. I'm sure most of you understand, and I appreciate your respect.

Description : It took me a great deal of time loopers, but I finally figured out what to do with my arpeggiated loops! They are still for download in the loops section, but as it says in that description, I wrote the riff a long time ago, and could never really figure out where to go with it, which is why I'm so happy with this track. The production isn't perfect, but it's good enough for me, and pay close attention to the strings. If you choose to review (and please do!) let me know if you think they are real or synthesized, I won't let you know which it actually is, but I'll email you the answer if you guess.

In all, this is my favorite track that I have made thus far, except for one that can't put up for copyright infringement issues.

Description : This is my first attempt at mastering a track. It came out better than a lot of the tracks I have done, and Myst's vocals are always pleasant to listen to. I used auto-tune more to figure out what key the song was in, I have good relative pitch but not perfect, and I liked the way it sounded at 50% relaxed, so I left it, giving the vocals kind of an Eiffel 65 feel. In hindsight, I wish I would have automated the volume on the harmony vocals, but since I can't really mix on my pc at home (512mb RAM doesn't like Nexus plugins too much) there really isn't anything I can do about it until later. If anything, I'll go to my friend's house and automate it later, then put up an updated version.

Thanks again to Myst for the Acapellas, both of them.

Description : The title is lame, as is the production of this, but I felt the need to share it, since the plugins I used are all Nexus, and I wouldn't even know what nexus is if not for Looperman.

Description : Used the title from the piano sample I found on here to make the track. Piano by "Pianosounds". I don't even know why I'm uploading it really, in my opinion this track is GARBAGE, except of course, for the piano that I didn't even write, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if you like, use it for whatever you want. Send me a message so I can listen to it.

Description : Lyrics, melody and voiced by Laurie Webb.

DISCLAIMER: This vocal sample came with the FL studio "Used by demo projects" package. As far as I can tell, this isn't a copyright infringement, as it came with the software and I am still giving credit to the original artist. If anyone feels that this violates the terms of service, please contact me so I can remove the track.

This is just a trance remix I did in FL studio. I liked the way the master came out, so I'm posting it.

Aside from the vocals, I didn't use any sampling, I composed everything myself using FL plugins and piano. I put a super relaxed autotune on the vocals to keep one note in the scale I was working in to make things easier for me.

Description : This is an NES Style soundtrack that I made after visiting the House on the Rock in Spring Green, WI last summer. I have been working on it off and on, a level here and there since July, whenever the nerve struck me. I just finished last night. This is actually going to be the soundtrack to an 8 bit game at some point, we're working on the levels and concepts now, which is why I am not allowing it for download. Eventually, we want it to go on some game network, like Xbox live. Since it isn't going to be released on an actual 8 bit system, I took some liberties with the soundtrack, adding delay effects to some channels and padding that wouldn't have been possible on an 8 bit system, but for the most part, I tried to stay true to the 8 bit sound style.
This track is over 11 minutes long, so I had to lower the quality of the mp3 quite a bit, making it sound fairly crappy, but since it's supposed to be an NES game, it isn't necessarily bad to have a lack of quality.

Game story:

If you don't know my inner circle personally, the name Ghassast Hast has no meaning for you at all. To explain him is a little difficult, but more or less, he is a creature that exists in a parallel dimension to ours. He looks kind of like a black mage from Final Fantasy, but he doesn't have the black face and red eyes, he has a half turtle half human face that pokes out from the hood slightly, and his robe conceals two fingers that can grow on command and go through anything. Originally, in this universe (not created by me) he was a creature that wandered aimlessly and you avoided him at all costs because he would kill you if you got in his way. You can't hurt him, he is invincible to everything from nuclear weapons to magic.

I took a few liberties with the character, and now you play as Ghassast, who stumbles somewhere between his world and ours, where he isn't quite as invincible, and his super badass fingers are not as badass, they're just a defense mechanism.
This is a good thing, because as it happens, this portal comes happens to be right in Spring Green, WI, where The House on the Rock stands in our world. Unfortunately for Ghassast, the portal isn't complete, so the house comes to life, and he has to get home by going through all the exhibits.

There is a bit more to it that I could go through, but if you are that interested, contact me. I can tell you what all the levels are supposed to be in conjunction to the exhibits, but this description is getting really long by now, so enjoy the track...

Description : The title is just a working title, I would like to put vocals to it eventually, but I haven't found the right voice for the project yet, and mine is not it, because I don't have a good industrial voice. This was my second time playing around with a limiter on the master effect, and I didn't really like it when I first tried it, but it loads automatically when I open FL Studio where I do all my electro/industrial/futurepop work, and I forgot to take it off. By the time I realized it was on, I found that I liked the levels it automatically picked throughout the song, so I just kept it. I still don't like it for all my work, but for this, it works really well.

Description : I started out with just the warm mid-range strings section you hear toward the middle of the song when the piano gets sparse and sad, and I expanded on it from there. I really wanted that to be a theme throughout the song so I did my best to keep it going, even increasing the velocity of the notes in the track and adding a limiter on the master to get an even volume throughout the track. When it came in at just over 2:40, I felt it wasn't long enough to constitute an instrumental piece, so I started writing more string parts and just looped the piano sections, having recorded them in two tracks, one for treble and one for bass. I layered the strings to get a really big, climactic sound, and this is the end result. I don't say it very often, but I am really happy with it.

Description : I really wanted to write something in B flat minor, and I came up with the opening riff while jamming with my band. They liked it, but not nearly as much as I did, so I kept it for my solo piano project and this is the final result.
