*puts on a coat and stokes the stove* Now that was cold!! The concept reminds me of the Black metal movement in the early 90's, a very cold sounding form of metal. Damn clean mix, Sounds really good! I've never tried making an edm track, maybe I'll try making an ice house black metal edm one ;) Good things come out of experimentations, proof right here.

on Nature Haunts with Pete Tebar by DanGoldstein
I was hoping to see/hear one for the Halloween Party In Hell 3:D> Hopefully you'll get a house producer to join the hellacious fun! Just imagine a party where it's all the same person err or whatever it is! Off to a good creepy opening.

Well - it did not get adopted by the house crowd! Pete Tebar joined the fun. Still in the ambient/weird forum I think. Latest update progresses things with a groove Pete came up with and ball is in my court. Still in progress.

on Good Mourning by Syktryk
LMMS is not bad for being a free daw! First one I found was called Darkwave studios, absolute crap! I made a number of very dark tracks with LMMS. Loved the piano roll and beat editor set up. Did you know you can add in your own drum hits to the library? There's a you tube video on it explaining step by step, I collected a very large library for that purpose. In a day or so I'll upload to mediafire if you want. Nice dark and disturbing, perfect!! MuhahahahaAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Kinda makes me think of an old insane asylum, just throw in some insane laughter :p
Syktryk
Syktryk replied 15th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
LMMS is the easiest for me to understand i just basically mess around in it and figure out how to add effects like reverb and pitchshift to songle sounds and to all the sounds i have on the mixer. Beat editor and piano roll are so amazing and itś kinda why ive stuck with LMMS. Simplest for me.
Burtsbluesboxes
I love how the beat moves it along, creating tension of whats to come. :p I really like ER's and Soliel's tracks! They do fit into a larger story. You tied them together seamlessly here! Last year I started the Looperman Zombie Apocalypse, a tale of survival as told by the surviving Loopers. My outbreak song was inspired by ER's soundscape as well, and I used Soliel's vocals on it :D I was trying to get to ER to rescue him, he became zombie food though. That narrative helps bring more realism to the tale showing the different countries effected by the pandemic. Excellent!! For the Halloween track comp, the more the scarier err merrier! 3:D>

Thx im glad you liked :) thats crazy that you also used the same 2 artists a year ago, must be something about the 2 influences from each artist that work so well it grabs the interest from other artists like us, it was epicrecord that suggested i should pop it into the comp so i thought "why not" :)

on Changes None by toastedavalanche
I see you found your way out of the catacombes. Is that your tape that was found abandonded in the camera? Had to ditch it and run because of a lasagna shortage huh?! When I first stated playing we used a cassette player to record hahaha Eventually my friend got a 4 track recorder. 8 tracks wow! What are you going to do with all those? Sounds good :D I love folk. Maybe next you can do a duet with Joan Baez? Maybe get Erik on organ.
toastedavalanche
toastedavalanche replied 15th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
It was a close call. Erik was on to me. Luckily I found some old Sarah Brightman recordings from the 80's; so I pressed play and threw the 8-track into a conveniently placed canoe and sent it downstream. He will be chsing that for a while...

on Up From The Ashes Mini Game Soundtrack Complete by Byleth
32 seconds!! you tease!! Tell there's more to come, We still have 2 weeks 'til Halloween. 3:D> Oh I see, it's intended to loop. So how do I join the Byleth fan club? Did 40a let you join the dark and scary club too? Oh wait, we're not supposed to talk about dark and scary club.
Byleth
Byleth replied 14th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
Yeah I tease you so hard XD.

Don't worry I will make a off track version just for fun and more "Halloween" this will be a longer one about 3 minutes.

Try to imagine a unintentional dark track like this one remixed to be even darker its may generate black holes every wheres muhahah.

Wait! can you tell me more about the dark and scary club? 40a didn't let me to go in T_T?

To join my club its impossible sorry ( I do not have a fan club yet).

thanks for the comment too. hope you did enjoy the track.

P.s. did you saw my "joke" with the title and descriptions ?
they are both longer than this tune XD.

on Halloween--- when Hell wins by SoraSolitudine
You're just a wealth of information with these kontakt libraries! Downloading them all! I love hearing the different accents on here telling different stories. It makes the tales more realistic coming from all around the world. I guess I should've done a voting system for the competition. I think I'm just going to put all the entries in a hat and randomly draw one for the winner. I don't know a more fair way.
SoraSolitudine
SoraSolitudine replied 14th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
I think that all people who upload tracks here are winners.

BTW, if you want more free Kontakt Libraries, I suggest you to download Clara's Vocal (http://stefanomaccarelli.com/factory/). It's free and it has a great quality. I suggest this 'cause I won't upload acapellas here anymore (I deleted my previous 'pellas). I received several criticisms and insults for saying that I don't want to hear my voice on hiphop/electronic (the reason is that one robber stole my voice to put in a bad-made remix and sell it; then I promised myself, never EVER hear my voice on electronic/hiphop music), even when I said that everyone was FREE to use my 'pellas in ANY project on ANY genre. I just didn't want to hear my voice in hiphop/electronic. It seems that people doesn't understand the difference between "using" and "showing".

Anyway... with Clara's Vocal you will have more than enough. :)

on GOTDAM Schizophrenia by jojoyo
That the best time to record samples all alone at night 3:D> mix is a little muffled/muddied on the low end. Cut some low frequencies to clean it up. Sounds different on different systems too so could just be my cheap headphones. I had a friend with schizophrenia, i bet this it what went on in his head often! Damn dark! Just the way I like it Muhahahaha :p I'm going to sit in the dark and listen to this again!

I did not know I was playing drums on here :p (Didn't know I could even play drums. I've tried a long time ago on a real set, wasn't pretty! :O)Thankfully now we have midi :p I love that dark choir! Religious punk? Why not!! Ever hear of black metal(well known for being associated with Norway church burnings in the early 90's)? Well, there's White metal too! It's Christian form of Black Metal, Christian Death metal O.o Just doesn't seem right, quite odd if you ask me LOL!! We got to get all these creepy tracks out of the way before Christmas, then we make happy stuff. Well, do zombies do Christmas? They are getting smarter. There's Christmas horror movies too :D I understand people can do some f*d up stuff on drugs, but just imagine coming down and realizing you did this! I've seen videos of people having their throats cut. Very disturbing!! On that Outbreak track I had a little girl almost eaten by zombies, that gave me the chills just placing that sample in there! This Fredrik guy must be kept in solitary where he's safe from the other inmates. Guys who hurt children tend not to live long in there.

He was save, 'cause they set him into the death row. ..... mmmm ..... much to much realty for me. This all was a real -tantarus experience- for me :)

I tried to do a Holy Lord in Heaven punk song but there is no way to do that without that it sounds ironic like hell :) and i am not sure who has less humor, punks or christians :)

I lost my freesound password :() I was on the way to do a Halloween track and searched for church bells "midnight 12 hits" and then i found what i wanted and couldn't find my pw ..... no pw no login no download .... no time and end of project :). Looks like i have to do a new account.

Maybe i ask the thinking zombie if he wants to do that punk song :)

stay tuned

on Sweet Apple Pie and I by cellardoor
Mmmmm Did you save us some apple pie to go with this sweet treat too? Going get diabetes from all this sweetness!! I'll have to invest in one of those mics! I record my acoustic guitar and voice samples with my cell phone voice recorder (nothing but professionalism). :p I have a sure mic but its so muffled sounding I don't bother with it.
cellardoor
cellardoor replied 12th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
Haha. Yeah, the mic is amazing. It looks super vintage and silver and amazing and it picks up sound in just the right way--not to hot, not full pops, and it can handle both loud and soft sounds--although when I start to sing loud high notes I need to put it reeeeeeally far away from me.

on Crucify Me with partial Vocals by topvega
Wish granted, now where's my hammer and nails ;) I've heard plenty of artist that can't sing but that doesn't stop them!! People love it raw :D Love it when the bass is doing it's own thing and not playing exactly what the guitar is doing. \m/
topvega
topvega replied 18th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
I think it is mostly a subconscious thing on my part. I hear great singing voices in my head but struggle to get anything close to that and become super critical. I am going to just say fuck it and do the vocals the best I can and see what others think. I also love when the bass and guitars do contrasting parts, it's just tough to get that to work and following the rhythm is what I wind up settling with. I need to challenge myself a bit more.
Thanks for giving it a listen. I should have vocals added in a week to ten days.

on Halloween--- when Hell wins by SoraSolitudine
True!!LOL!! When I record voice samples I do it at work where there's no one around, the whole time hoping no one comes in and thinks I'm going crazy and talking to myself! :p Only problem is if there's no one left to enjoy your vocals, that be a shame. Hmm but if all the humans were gone the animals would rule once again and they could listen! :D
SoraSolitudine
SoraSolitudine replied 11th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
Well, even if there weren't humans my vocals would be my legacy...

Or, as I say... "memento mori... legato tuo in aeternum erit vivens" (remember you will die... your legacy will live in the eternity). I have that phrase as cover in my FB profile.

Much respect for anyone who can speak a language other than their native language, no apologies needed! This is great! I think that must be our biggest fear, the extinction of mankind. on Soul Of Halloween by Syktryk
It comes down to personal preference, ultimately, as for which daw. FL studios is popular. I use REAPER, http://www.reaper.fm/download.php With the evaluation license it's completely functional just like the licensed version. All the license does is gets rid of the nag screen,(just click "still evaluating") also never locks or disables features, so you can evaluate it for as long as you like. A year or more is you want ;) Practice makes perfect, and you're doing just fine :p

Nice and creepy, just the way I like it Muhahahahaha 3:p> That's right! There is NO escape! Your soul now belongs to Looperman! What editor are you using? I started on LMMS and Audacity. Since moved to Reaper (free to use as long as you choose, just get this nag screen asking to buy a license, which I finally did almost 2 years later :O) Funny, after you progress a bit you cringe when hearing your old mixes LOL! I'll dl this tomorrow (will forget it on this computer) for halloween music collection on my music player for work, thanks :D YYYAAAAYYYYY!!!Halloween!!

You're making some damn creepy tracks Joe! Love that synth/choir. Not understanding the lyrics just adds to the creepiness :p
joecramer

Hey Burt

Therefor that you can´t understand the lyrics, you play realy cool on your drums to the song :) ..... i´m not sure, can it be that the most members of this band dosen´t know that they play in that band????

The lyrics are, like mostly placed into the lyrics folder.
The translated and fitted words in german and the org english ones.
Nice to know that you think this last two tracks are realy "creepy", cause thats what i tryed to make :) some songs just dark and creepy, a little evil, full with emotions and good for a little bit fear by night :)
This choir is cool. But it was a lot of work and mixing to make it so human and synthetic at the same time

Thanks for the listen

stay tuned

on A Haunting by toastedavalanche
Does Erik know you were playing with his organ? I bet you wore his mask too! YaaaYY!! I smell lasagna cooking :D Cool house on this underground lake, under the operahouse Erik's got here. I see why he hid and boobie trapped it. Going be a haunting good time! Is there a secret exit into the catacombes?
toastedavalanche
toastedavalanche replied 10th Oct 2015 - 10 years ago
Erik got drunk and is in the opera house, swinging of the chandeliers. So I've had the place all to myself. Trying to find my way out of the catacombs and I'm running dangerously low on lasagna... If I don't return, please punch Raoul in the face for me. His foppish crooning is bumming everyone out.
