Yeah, I saw that and I already downloaded them.
I tried to squeeze the samples in at the last second, but they didn't really fit the vibe.

on LOD - the end of a nightmare by joecramer
I like the waves in the opening, It's like we just stepped onto the Island of Dr. Moreau. Do you want to be shot like a zombie again? I have a boiling death that needs to be put to use :p It's painless hahahaha Joe gets shipwrecked and swims to the closest Island only to find it's inhabited by cannibals. What's for dinner? Joe is :D One of my biggest hold ups has been the drums on this! I'm not that good at programming beats so I use alot of premade midi ones, then I'll edit them if needed. Since you redid the drums I'll re record the guitar and bass so we can do a proper mix :D I'll send you wav files of those. Probably be sometime next week. I'm going to be really busy the next couple days.

There is someone on this ship on his way into his own darkness ..... he felt into sleep and a nightmare is on the way ..... In his darkest dreams he found a helping hand and a voice told him that he could leave the nightmare ...... he slowly awakes and have a look around ...... he saw that he hit an island with his ship and that it will not go anywhere else ....... after a while he leaves the ship and goes into the jungle near the beach ....... Dr Moreau already waits for him .... the real nightmare still waits around the corner ....

Don´t worry about time. Record whenever you have the time or the right feeling to do so. In between i just do something different. Maybe another zombie one :) ? or this blues one, or a zombie blues maybe ......

This drums are realy nothing special. First I just used a standart robota beat and cut it abit and place it under the track, and let the fills away. Then i cut a standart fill and mixed it again with the drums under the track and look that i have almost same power on the new drums then the one in your track. So all what makes this beat sound cool is more the original drum line with your fills and extra sounds.

PM me when you have recored anything. I will send you a link to the stems.

stay tuned

You know what they say about drummers don't you? ;) But you're a metalhead that plays guitar AND blues too so I guess you're ok :D LOL!LOL! Love the blues!! keep 'em coming plz! I'm going through a bit of a doom metal phase, after that blues phase, but I got a few blues jams to get up here :D Maybe in the future I can do drum arrangement out of one of my loop packs, play bass (I know how you feel about bass players ;) LOL!!!) and you could jam some blues guitar on it :D

"You know what they say about Drummers don't you?"

Yes of course I do:

Drummers can Bang for hours!

Q:What do you call a drummer who breaks up with his girlfriend?
A: Homeless

Q:What do Ginger Baker and black coffee have in common?
A: They both suck without Cream.

Q:What is the last thing a drummer says in a band?
A: Hey, when are we gonna do one of my songs?

And last but not least...

Q:How many drummers does it take to change a light bulb?
A: 5. One to screw it in and 4 to talk about how much better Neil Peart could have done it.

Haha!

Yeah man when you get that arrangement done just let me know. I will be glad to try to work some thing up for it. Thanks for the comment Katz!

on By The Ocean - A Recording by BradoSanz
You had me fooled 'til I read through the entire description! HAhaha good one ER! Looks like you fooled plenty ;) I told you these soundscapes are addicting! I've done quite a few horror themed ones :p You must live near the gulf of mexico? I grew up by the ocean but live like 50 miles inland now, mountains really but this area is plains, called Oxford plains. You may have heard of the race track Oxford Plains speedway, world famous short track, Grateful dead played there in the 80's. Keep up the good work! :D
BradoSanz
BradoSanz replied 25th Jun 2015 - 10 years ago
Yes I live by the Gulf :P I have yet to see mountains. I want to climb one some day. I love being immersed in nature, away from the smells and worries of the city life. And yes, I've heard of that place! You're very lucky :) Cheers and thanks for listening phatkatz4 :P

The Legend of Zelda is an old nintendo entertainment system game. A Medieval adventure through mystical lands. I can see where Gramo gets that vibe. Alot of the music for the newer versions of the game are similar to this excellent sound painting.

You've found your new singer!! :D Love it!! Hahahaha I started experimenting with computer generated voices out of the same need for some female voice samples. Excellent, now the ending :p Great work we should do this again. For sure!!! DO IT! Look out Siri https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_migLQ802Go you may have a competitor :p

on Chapters by GramoChopin
That's one dark soundscape you got here 3:D> I only played the first Silent Hill game on ps2 Never saw the movies, but this nails the dark vibe I remember from being in that old decrepit school. I found that game more creepy than the Resident evil games, at least in those you had some idea what the hell was going to attack you. *plays again :p If you've never seen this enjoy ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkiaJDtt4II Your track here makes a great soundtrack!
GramoChopin
GramoChopin replied 25th Jun 2015 - 10 years ago
Thanks. And yea Silent Hill is by far the scariest horror for me. You need to only see the 2006 one. The sequels to follow are mockery to the series. Resident Evil loses it's grip because of Capcom's decision to turn Resident Evil into a more action based game. Ruined the series completely. No atmosphere. And I haven't watched that vid, I'll check it out. Thanks again

on LOD - the end of a nightmare by joecramer
Love that you're working with this old track, and what you've with it!! :D Does it really need to be re recorded now? You got is sounding pretty damn good :p I have another old dark one, Doom(not posted), that was actually the first one I recorded with DAW if you're interested in doing a similar treatment :D I do need to re record that one, be alot easier to work out the drums for that, than this one. I bought a video loop for making a video for Doom, but never got around to it. Also for this I have a clip from Dr.Tarr's Torture dungeon (Poe movie) that may work well in the opening. Love that ocean sound hahaha I was thinking this song would come before Doom like the beginning of the adventure. The movie is about an asylum, in the forest, where the patients have taken over imprisoning the Dr (Dr.Tarr) and staff. The clip i was thinking of "You will enter this dungeon. Let the shadows watch over you as you sleep. (laughing)" Doom song feels like passing through the halls of an old castle. Here's the movie. It;s public domain so it's ok to use clips :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqtxVBFixa0

Hey Burt, no need for a rework just for me :)

Nice to see that you didn´t shoot me like a zombie for this one

I will play around just a little bit with this one until i lost fun OR until i think it is a real great one and THEN i will ask you for the wav file, cause i just used that centraldev mastering try. so mp3 from a mp3 to mp3 .... but you are right it dosen´t sound bad for that.

Let me know when you will start on your doom project and need some vocals or else :)

stay tuned

on Mad As Hell by soundhound
I'm Mad as hell and not going to take it! ;) I like this :D Hahaha Golden Earing's Radar love has that effect of pushing the gas pedal a bit too hard too :p I'd like to hear that bass guitar slightly louder in the mix, always like hearing the bass driving the tune along (personal preference). Like that lead guitar, very nice :D and the way it leads into the lead synth, trading off. A+++ work :p

Well he played the bass sounds like keys to me, not a bass guitar
so I had nothing to do with that, just the 2 guitar parts...

on We Invade The Night by StaticNomad
Nice and dark I like 3:D> I heard a Candlemass song, don't recall the name, it was doom Jazz, very cool, similar to what you've created here. I think we can all learn something from Centralsdev ;) like how not to be an idiot LOL! Is that free sex optional? I'm not into dudes. Sheep and barnyard animals are more my type :p
StaticNomad
StaticNomad replied 18th Jun 2015 - 10 years ago
Dark, barnyard animal greetings.

I know you like a nice, dark track. Actually, you like a lot of nice, dark tracks. The first few mins of this definitely qualify.

Not sure I've listened to Candlemass. Must change that.

"I think we can all learn something from Centralsdev ;) like how not to be an idiot"

You sure can learn what a mentally ill troll is. All his track comments are 100% irrelevant to the track - they're just one sentence of whatever crap is going through his mind at the time of posting.

I will email you some vouchers for a trip to a farm so you can get laid the way you prefer.

I realy love the line that the people in Thailand say realy often - same same but different.

Good to hear that you think the vocal level is ok, cause it is always this - i wrote it, i sing it, i masterd it and so i can hear and understand it - but maybe it isnt so for others :)

thanks for your words

on Rosina Dead Vegas Trek by MORTradio
I liked how in The Stand how Vegas was the place where all the evil people got together. Seems to make sense that maybe there may be a chance of survival there during a zombie apocalypse. I mean, wouldn't the zombies dry up like mummies in the dry desert heat? In World War Z (book) people go north where the zombies freeze solid in the winter months :D Zombcicle :p Anything regarding the undead I love!! Had to come back for seconds and dl and fav this if I haven't already :D
MORTradio
MORTradio replied 6th Jun 2015 - 10 years ago
The thing that appealed to me most in the apocalyptic story "The Stand" was the use of Las Vegas, not only for the symbolism of it being the dwelling for Flagg and the "bad" people, but also that it is place where the final battle for mankind (humanity, hope, etc.) takes place. I spent many years in Las Vegas (and still do spend a lot of time there), and my personal belief is that it beats out any other city in overall excitement, weirdness, and bad craziness.

Regarding the living dead existing in a dry desert climate, I won't go into my theories about that in this forum (since it is really not the proper place). I will say that if a zombie apocalypse were to take place, the dead would probably do well in the dry climate of the desert (since water/moisture is destructive to dead tissue....don't ask how I know, since that is a whole other topic).

I, too, have been interesting in the living dead for many years (and that is many, many, many years), and it is always cool to meet another fan of the living dead.

Thanks for the fav of the track, and as I stated in my last comment, I hope that this year's Halloween horror movie sound track forum thread will be up and running soon enough.

Excellent Joe!! See if you can sing reggae you can sing some blues ;) for the male choir maybe you could try fading the individual oohh ahhhs in and out may help it not feel so computerized. Hi Burt

Nice to know that i don´t disapoint you

You know that i already did some blues? Ok it was some Joe Cramer styled bluse but ...... remember - Gedanken -

You know that everything is just a matter of time and "sometime" i will finish all things i began in my life ... sometime! ..... i think ..... or lets say i hope ... or ... naaaa ..... maybe not all :)

Something intressting about the male background choir that sounds "toooo" computerizied. First Alex sayed something over them and i didn´t understand what about hes talking. Then YOU and i listen again and think about the "male background choir" ... mmmmm and then i got it what you both mean :) ..... come on LOL i can tell you why it sounds soooo computerizied

It´s a vst sound from illautogun that i workedup a bit with reverbs and stuff - it is not me singing

Who knows, maybe i change that and do them by myself

stay tuned

Cthulu lies deep beneath the sea dead but dreaming ;) That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.
That's a character from the H.P.Lovecraft's fiction. It's a big octopus faced monster that lives in the ocean. Metallica's The thing that should not be is about him/(her?) too. I found another band, Catacomb, that writes all songs based on Lovecraft's writings.
That's a good question, Both are alien worlds relatively unexplored by us. I think this has more of an underwater sound, like being weighed down by the crushing pressure of all that water whereas space is nothingness. The sounds echo and fade like passing through a liquid like medium. In space they'd just continue on unobstructed by the nothingness and fade in volume to nothing. I've never been there but in theory anyway ;) I seemed to have missed the last flight with the rest of the Loopers, I'm stowing away on the next one! :D

I am too involved trying to re-learn my German before I go to sleep at night by reading a German-Jewish dictionary to have time for something sensible like discovering Lovecraft. so i am grateful for the tidbits you share. of course the fish in my underwater scene might be eating those tidbits before i get to them.
