Great vocals. Just wish it could all breathe a bit more (too much compression for my old ears!!) but it's still a very impressive piece of work. Great stuff.
Sorry for the late response. It's good to hear from you. Thanks for your comment, I have to work on the compression though but I definitely appreciate your feedback on it.
Nice work. Love the smooth and relaxed feel. Love the break down section too and the anticipation waiting for it to build again. Super sounds and great production. Love it.
My compliments to everyone involved with this track. It's sublime. Thank you for posting. So refreshing to hear excellent musicianship and a beautiful production. Absolutely knockout. Love it.
Thank YOU, Richie, for checking it out and leaving your kind words. I'm fortunate to be working with such professional musicians, even if we are worlds apart geographically. I, and my friends, certainly appreciate your comment.
Very very good arrangement. How thoughtful and beautiful you have made the mellotron section at the start and that harp is knockout. Very Beatles inspired and that's no bad thing at all. Love the vocals and your instrumental support for it is just perfect. Great work.
Thanks, Richie. Just read your bio. Looks like you and I were playing in bands about the same time. Actually I had a few years headstart on you! :) But I assume you were in the UK and I was playing around Vancouver, British Columbia, then upstate New York for a few years. Anyway, thanks for the feedback on the track. I really need to find a UK-based singer for the third section. No luck yet. If you know of anybody who can do UK synth pop type vocals, please let me know. I've got a definite sound in mind.
Firstly thanks again for posting on my recent track "Stay".
I like this very much. It's so good to hear what i call "proper songs" with verses, choruses and middle sections. Nice vocals too. Not sure about the string section running all the way and maybe you might consider pacing it a bit and adding instruments as the song progresses. However, welcome to the Loop and best regards from Chester, UK.
I love this! What a great track and I think it works so well. So different to my effort posted recently. Really exciting. Love the dynamics and the chord progressions. Excellent. Great work.
This is revelation! It is simply wonderful and a joy to behold. Firstly the talent that is evident in the playing is outstanding. Real musicianship abounds and is illustrated by tasteful playing and amazing sounds. The arrangement is superb and added to the fact that the players are not competing for space gives the end result a great feel and sounds excellent.
Sometimes when I look through tracks here on the Loop and then look at members profiles (oh did I say that out loud?) I see postings within days of each other. When you listen to it you sort of know why too. It is always plain to see (and hear) that your music is "crafted" and has had love and care in it's construction. At a time when making music can be almost instant for some it is reassuring to know there are those who prefer to rely on skill, knowledge, talent and artistic flair to create something over a period of time that deserves to be listened to.
Top track Dave - applause to all the guys concerned.
Hey Richie thanks mate!....like you I always try to get every element heard within a mix (sometimes better, sometimes worse though! lol)...I think a lot of producers suffer because they think of music as 'product' rather than process,I also think their compromised from not having the benefit of growing up listening to a vast spectrum of different music like you and I have..boom,boom,boom will only get you so far! haha..again thanks for your support mate it means a lot!...cheers Dave :)
You have such a great voice and it's beautifully recorded too. Lovely song and excellent production. Love the feel - you clearly have put a lot of effort into the track. Well done, great job.
Such a powerful production with it's dark beginnings that develop with those hypnotic drums and guitar section. The synth stabs work really well too. Great production. Love it.
This really makes me think you are very accomplished keyboard player! It sounds really good and the vocals work just right. Great job, nice feel, nicely put together. Love that acoustic piano sound.
Very interesting track and I love the way you have arranged the different vocal parts to compliment each other. Really neat. Great job. Love it all. Lovely piano part too. Excellent.
Hi Richie!
Really - you liked this? I liked it a lot when working with it in the daw, then I uploaded it here and realized it's a pile of crap. And then I worked with it some more and now I don't know anymore - have to take a break I guess. =D
Some parts are still not working at all, that I hear.
THANKS for listening and giving me some hope anyway!
Nice track, great job. I have to agree with comments made above regarding the drum track - it's all a bit "jerky" and takes away from the flow of the track a little for me (personal opinion of course, others may find it perfect!!!) A more human feel might have worked better. I don't think it's anything to do with the bass or the mix either - it's definitely the part. I would be very interested to know what you have used for your drum parts.
Apart from that I'm so impressed with this track. It's beautifully put together, nicely arranged and sounds excellent. Great job.
Ive actually gone thru and changed it up a bit, and made some small changes since posting this to make it sound much better. As far for what i used, just some soundpool drums that the program came with. Glad you were impressed in a whole tho! thanks for the listen :)
What a lovely feel you have created. It's beautiful. Great sound on the acoustic guitar too and nicely played. I hope you find someone to put vocals of this - it deserved it.
I can never resist playing your tracks when they appear on LM. Always interesting and a bit "off the wall" (in a good way). Very clever stuff indeed. Great track and excellent production.
What a great track! Love the way the intro builds and that piano line is do infectious. Nice chord pattern too and very subtle dropouts make for an interesting listen. Great sounds too - super production.
I can never resist listening to your tracks as I know it's going to be a journey I shouldn't miss. This is great and I just love the changes your make to the instrumentation and the way you structure your sections. Lovely vocal line too. Nice build up and so rhythmic - can't help but dance. Great work.
Hey sorry for the late reply. I smashed the screen on my lap top and only just got it fixed.
Glad you could stop by and leave your thoughts. It's always appreciated when someone as talented as yourself drops by.

Such a great feel to this track. The underlying percussion and drums really set it all up very nicely. Lots of interest happening too with your choice of instruments and sections. Excellent.
Beautifully constructed song. The vocal lines and the guitar work are particularly good and work so well together. Love that string pad in the background too - very atmospheric. Great track. Love it. Lovely solo too. Super stuff.

But it's really all based on good grooves and foundational links between instruments, as well as groove changes and intensity an tempo changes.
Those djembe drums help add a bit of extra interesting flavour and work nicely with that smooth synth bass.
Thanks for your thoughts.
