If you have time take a listen and give Maffin159 some feedback.
This is terrific stuff! The intro is lovely with the acoustic and the strings playing that very nice line over it. The piano works so well too - just sits nicely in the track. Great percussive bass line and tasteful percussion parts. It all interweaves so well. I am only listening on my headphones so maybe I'm not getting a true picture of the mix but your vocal might just be a tad forward but apart from that I can't fault it. You've spent some time double tracking your voice and the phrasing is perfect. Great job.
Hey thanks Richie - appreciated the tips. You're right, I think it was getting a bit hyper on the last mix, so I tried another today which is a little calmer and truer to the original. Stereo image perhaps a bit simpler too - but it's great getting so much feedback, as my monitors are only one pair, and tricky to get it sounding universally great without loads of people having a listen.
Also, I think I get to the limit of all the VST instruments' shortcomings - if I push the mids too much - as I can't afford a real orchestra just yet :)
I'll probably put the DL on soon, if anyone wants it, when I'm happy - but thanks again and really glad you like it.
"Yours always sound rich, do you export to 44k 128 direct from the DAW or convert the 24-bit WAV separately?"
Unfortunately, I have to have a lot of tracks on here at 128K, quite simply because they're so long that that's the max bitrate I can upload at. With 128K I get something like 10:55 running time so my tracks above 11 mins (quite a few) are around 10:50 on the site.
Not sure if my WAVs are 24 bit (how lazy, I should really know) but I do the MP3 conversion in a free program called CDEX.
I still think most of my stuff sounds pretty decent at 128K.
No idea about LM reconverting on upload or not.
This mix is a bit better again and it's just overall a good track, even if it's not a preferred style of mine. Vocals definitely better and the first "There's only now" is probably the vocal I like the most.
Not so keen on "cool breeze on your body" probably due to the "body" lyric more than the delivery. Oh, and "body" seems to be delivered with a slight American accent, which is slightly incongruous.
Definite radio stuff and I don't hear much to fault here. Oh, the bass right at the end gets prominent at 2:56 but then doesn't seem to come to a proper conclusion. Sounds like it's missing another half, maybe whole, bar of playing. Minor point that maybe no one else will ever mention...
Nice one man, love acoustic guitars so right from the beginning I was interested. Thought the strings were a good choice. The song has a "soft" feeling to it, meaning there are no rough edges or any hard, bone jarring sounds, everything sort of blends together nice and easy. Mix is fine, I think I missed the original. Pretty cool track, dig it!
Right, this is my third attempt at reviewing this track because my connection keeps cutting off and i'm getting infuriated with it.
I'm going to do away with the long review this time and just say that i enjoyed listening to this track.
You've hit the bullseye with this one (so good i'm on my third listen)

(usually LM website crashes on me and I end up writing reviews in Word, saving often, and then pasting them in - effing computers...)
Means a lot you like though as your stuff is very impressive, especially as mastering on house tracks is so tricky and you're spot on with that stuff.
Think I might have over compressed this last one as it sounds loud, but a bit mushy on headphones since last week, but still tinkering...
Anyway thanks. And again, that section 2:45 to the amazing kick at 3:15 on Series of Riffs is a fantastic groove - please do something with it - really took me back to the Mandy days :))))
hey thanks. Done it. It's better I think, you're right, with a bit more compression and bass, but some folks tell me to compress less to let the signal have more range...hopefully a good balance now, but tricky as peoples monitors vary.
...it's why feedback is so great - you get to find the sweet spot :)
Love the instrumental. Vocals are nice and laid back.. they could do with a little more in the way of EQ and effects, but other than that good job man!
WKS
PS - if you like, I'll help with mixing in the vocals a bit better. Just get in contact if interested :)
Hey, this is actually a really good track. I imagine you're a fan of The Cure? Not that it rips them off but it really sounds like it's influenced by them. The vocal's letting it down at the moment, having said that the backing vox actually sound really good the melody of the hook's also perfect.
If you're willing to collab, I'd love to have a go at doing a version of this.
Yes you are right on the Conversion...that would hold the top down...
And the compression: If you squeeze more you will hear it, less would
clean it up, and let the value of the signal do it's job...
Placement is everything it needs to move in it's space, not overpower it
make it much cleaner...
Yo. Not sure if you know about replacing a track rather than starting a new one. I say this because my previous in-depth review of your track has now disappeared so I can't refer to my previous notes, which would help me for reviewing this updated version.
All you gave to is 'replace' the track with the new version and all the comments and replies etc will stay just as they are! That way I can see what I wrote last time.
Anyway, can't be bothered to write it all out again so will just say a couple of things, going from memory.
Guitar sounds fuller-bodied and so do the drums. Basically, the mix is much improved.
Re-recorded vocal is also an improvement. 0:52 I believe you have added more vocals as you change key. Before, you just stopped singing and then the key change happened and was entirely instrumental.
I think this version is probably 30-60 secs shorter so punchier and more immediate. Middle instrumental section shortening probably accounts for most of that time reduction.
Good work and always pleasing to hear people improve after feedback.
This is probably pretty much ready for emotional pop song radio play.
Thanks my friend as always. I made a mistake as the website refused to 'update' the track for some reason. I did it right, but the LM page just played the old one. Hmmm.
Still getting weirdness on the mp3 conversions, as the 48k wav sounds much nicer with better EQ balance...still tinkering with the conversion settings as not sure if LM reconverts on the upload. Yours always sound rich, do you export to 44k 128 direct from the DAW or convert the 24-bit WAV separately? I'm sure there's a forum on it if I could be bothered to look :)
Cool track Much, Much better mix....Guitars sit perfectly and help push
the vocal instead of the other way around...
Clean up the top end a bit and this would be radio ready 1,2db touchup
and you'd be on the mark...
You mean less top or more? - might be EQ on final, but finding the MP3 conversion adds boom and siblnce. Guess I should export as 44K / 192 not 48K / 320 if LM reconverts for web?
On the 2db push - you mean compress more? I need to keep dynamics but could squeeze touch more?
Thnx again.

Description : This one has been sitting on my computer for a bit now but didn't really like it. My friends say it can use some vocals and I think that is what this one needs. If there is anyone who wants to put some vocals on this, send me an email at .magic41151@yahoo.com. or post below. Thanks for tuning in and have a great day!
Description : Something different from me!
Emotional song about Balkan.
I worked on it with many pauses for a long period but i think its ready now!
Love and peace!
Description : Based on excellent track by BradoSanz (nothing compares instrumental). I've added an intro, many sliced up vocals, audio effects, and some electric guitar. Includes loops: Holly's Within your soul, and 40A's Unstoppable.

very similar to the band "the national"
yo bass needs to be clearer which you could probably do with some EQing and a little compression when you master it
some very ideas..
Keep 'em coming brother
