This is one of the best composed & mixed hip hop tracks I have heard in a while Jody...and while the genre is not on my regular listening menu..I really like some of the different things you have going here...the orchestral type stabs & horn, bell sounds etc...you`ve taken this one to a high level man....a big well done to you.....Ed
like the voxy pad...gives it a bit of a mysterious but oeaceful vibe...its a very minimalist mix (that I usually like) so each sound really stands on its own clearly...the kick isn`t bad but it does sound more like a floor tom than a nice deep kick which I think would have taken it up a notch....its a nice easy listen this Sunday morning over on my side of the pond.....keep on......Ed
yea the "kick issue" i heard that a lot, what you suggest to use? i was thinking about 808 kick? but it aint work out like i wanted, so i decided to leave it like it is -
peace and thanks again!
reall like the way you used the orchestral accompaniment parts Ernest...gives it a whole different vibe...maybe a bit ominous in some spots.....I know next to nothing about the electronic sub-genres so I just listen from a musical & production point of view...this one is really well done...enjoyed....Ed
GoldenOokami....I think you are well on your way towards your musical goals...and I much admire the fact that you have been investing in the musical knowledge as well as the production skills part....It will stand by you well in the long term and it will give you a very big step up on those who would try to claim the role of producer based on a narrower view of what it really takes....well done on this one....keep on....Ed
I am very happy to see such comment. Thank you for your words, my friend. I do hope to continue my path as I'm doing. Best of luck for you, Ed. Take care.
I think GramoChopin has a good point sddkis...sounds good & well put together but I also thought the choir & synth parts were a bit too up front....thats a kick-ass drum track...would maybe shine even a bit more if the the choir etc were pulled back a bit into the back where they would have a bigger/wider stage....well done....keep on.....Ed
really nice chord progression and some rich sounds.....this is the kind of house music I could listen to for a long time...the little breaks work great...its a little quiet by commercial standards but it certainly retains all the fullness/dynamcic of those great sounds you have going on....well done princelectro....enjoyed this one......Ed
I checked that acapella SJ...and you definitely picked the right part of it to feature in this mix...this is really nicely done...the minimalist accompaniment works great and you have done a lot of thinking in the way you developed the composition....You keep getting better every time I stop by for a listen....bravo....keep on doing it.....Ed
Hi Ed!
Yes this is very minimalistic, not at all my style really - I tend to throw in a lot of melodies in everything where as here it's really simple, almost just the vocal snippet that does the whole job.
I really like this one promenade...its really well done all round so I certainly have no suggestions...just keep doing it....Its the kind of tune where I would just like to sit at a table at the back of the club & listen to you play some more......bravo....Ed
really nice patient intro & since I really love piano (even though I would claim to be an old guitar addict) you likely know what I thought of the rest....catch little chord prog/melody combination and enough variations/breaks to keep the ears perked....nice clean sounding production with all the dynamics preserved....well done LividKicks...enjoyed this one....Ed
WOW...yes..Pauline is indeed one extra talented lady...and again, just because I often listen with my old producer ears I have to admire the way you composed around the vocal Richie,....I know I have said it before so it may sound old, but there is a very special talent to composition, performance and production that lets the vocal shine so well and yet has that ear candy type accompaniment and you can`t help notice....This is not flattery from me....its just damn good my friend...much respect.,...
Ed
It's always good to see you on my profile posting comments - thank you very much.
Pauline is a special talent and I am so fortunate to be working with her. I know we've had this conversation before regarding the whole issue of allowing the vocals to shine and it's good you mention it here again. It would be a crime to swamp a vocal performance of this calibre with unnecessary instrumentation or a poor mix. It's sometimes a case of not what you put in but what you leave out (wish I could credit myself with this advice but it was the great Count Basie that said it). So, what I include has to be the best I can achieve and I'm circumspect about adding anything that doesn't really add to the overall sounds. Apologies, I'm rambling a bit here!!!
I see I`m way late catching up with this one.....dont change a thing....you hit this one out of the park man.....the lady is great on vocals (like the harmony bits too)...very smooooooth indeed and you`ve place the instruments (spracely) around your starring lady about perfect from my perspective....top notch Richie...as we have come to expect from all you do.....Ed
well...if its one of your first attempts you are off to a good start CH...neat lyrics..I guess I am pretty old school so my ear tends to look for key changes etc...I was thinking you might throw in a key change marker where that chorus/hook parts is (with the harmony bits) and then come back to your starting key...sounds like you are in A minor all the way (A is Acid`s default key setting)...try bumping the music over to D or down to G at the chorus??....anyway....main thing is just have some fun....its a great addiction....Ed
Hey! Thanks for the suggestions :)
Well, it is a great addiction, indeed, and I'm only posting my older attempts because I haven't got a lot of time to make new songs, unfortunately. You're right, though, this song is pretty basic, since I was learning (and still am, to be honest) how to use Acid and make songs. But I'll most definitely keep that in mind for my next songs!
Creative coposing ideas Mosiac...the big beat up front but those peaceful easy-flowing pads and chimes etc in the backing....neat concept....I wouldn`t know how it fits the genre...but it fits in the good listening genre for me anyway...kudos to you on trying some different genres..its not something I have yet had much success at..."Peace on earth" is not something humanity has yet accomplishes ...guess some of us are fortunate to have been born in countries that at least have a good measure of it compared to the many less fortunate tribes.....keep on....Ed
Thank you mate for stopping by, pleased you enjoy track and concept, when loading knew it wasn't going to suit everybody, agree some of us are luckier then others for sure, can only hope for world peace, don't know if achievable or not, can always hope!
Yes been enjoying branching out doing other genre's, have a very nice pop track coming next week, then house, then back to trance for sometime, Yep found the piano loops was talking about in review, haven't found track made with them yet, will look again today, if okies might upload to here...Thanks once more Ed...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...
Hi Orlando...just had to drop by to leave you a well done and a big thank you..and thatn you for your more than kind words my friend...Guess you are aware of the circumstances that will keep me away from the music (& the Loop) as much as I would like to be involved...will stop in when I can to check up on you & our Looperfriends as I think I`m addicted....There is a lot more music to be done....on to thenext one...Look forward to meeting up along the road again..I have a ton of musical ideas..some of them partially started so they dont escape when I return....and you know where to reach me any time....My best to you always my friend...Ed
Thank God, Ed...you can still do a peek or two on LM in spite of the situation which is really very nice...ofcourse I am completely aware of it and I just hope it won't last too long, and most important that it will be all fine in the end. As you know I still have some of your material and I'm trying to work on it...it all depends of free time amount and particulary of Muse's willingness to pay me some visits from time to time...when something emerges out of it I will let you know, as always...
Hold on tightly, my friend, we haven't said the last word yet...
the guy is a total idiot Cognac...and as you say he makes good sound bites...funny like somebody from centuries back...but a sad statement on evolution....on the other hand tye concept and music is just right (a bit minimal...the necessary ingredients)..to leave ndoubt about the words....right on...Ed
yes...nice bouncy/catchy tune radioilluminati..certainly has a commercial flavour for a dance mix...its not a genre thats on top of my regular listening chart but you have enough variations & different instrumentation going on to make it good listening..and while I would not be a big fan of autotune (when you can hear it) the music & vocal go together really well...very nicely done....Ed
You know I`m not a good source of any kind of advice on House (or the electronic genres in general) FR...but this sure is a smoooooth listening bit of music you knocked up...if it only took you a couple of hours thats even more amazing...some nice variations to hold the interest....you can put this one in most any genre and I would still like it (its the first 9 min mix I`ve listened to all the way through in a long time)....its kind of picture-painting stuff..would almost make soundtrack backing for the right video...good job.....Ed
Thanks Ed, I just took a few loop packs, jumbled them all together and then built some sounds around them. Easy peezy.
Thank you for dropping in and commenting on this track.

You are a seriously good vocalist Austin...delivered like a pro...I`m betting you will have absolutely no trouble finding collaborators on this one...very well done....Ed
This is mainstream stuff Luizor...wouldn`t be out of place on commercial radio...really good job on the vocals..Others would likely tell you the opposite, but I would actually pull the kick back just a little softer to let the vocal & instruments sit more clearly in the mix...a big well done to you...you have a good one going on here...Ed
Behnam...I am having a great day here this Saturday...what a wonderful happy sounding music composition...strings and piano are great company for one another and you have taken a very controlled, subtle approach to the melody parts (is that a mandolin you are using?)...this is a fav for me Behnam...thank you...she stopped laughing very suddenly at the end.....well done my friend.....Ed
many thnx Ed for attention & such a warm feedback .
yes that was the first & last time I was playing mandolin in a trial & i think I've played it a bit extra forte (Wayne is needed to share his idea about my mandolin playing) .and haha cool explanation U've mentioned I've designed that mandolin as her laughing symbole & that saddenly stop is due to as the name shows I'm reminding & reviewing in my mind the way she laughs & when she was laughing the world was stopping for me for a while ( smile !)..& also that was the way to back to main theme's tonality after imperceptible altration which happens by bent notes of mandolin to paint laughing ...master i should have an exclussive appreciation from U about this one cause your warm feedback in acidplanet about this made me to think this is suitable for upload here in my only active page in internet . many many thnx & all the bests.___B
Yeah....bagpipes....I`ve used them (at least loops & samples) in quite a few Celtic type mixes (not posted on the Loop) evisma....I`m diggin your musical imagination here....and actually the whole thing sounds pretty friggin good to me my friend....you should dust that Squier off more often and give it a little love...It`ll give it back....good rock going on here and I enjoyed it...not sure what you would want to change but I think its just fine as is....If I had to get everything perfect I would never have anything to post.....keep on....Ed
That deep bass and haunting synth sound keep it on the dark side Cyber...(and the evil voice of course)...but that little lighter/higher sounding arp gives it more of a mysterious feel....Definiteoly is the kind of mix that would go great with the right kind of video or game scene...and the minimal approach just adds to the mysterious vibe of the whole thing...you have a unique style...enjoyed this one....Ed
I came home from a younger brother`s funeral a number of years ago and sat down with the guitar and a recorder to do the same thing tv (he was many times the guitar player I will ever be)...when I listen later.. like your tune...it is not really sad....just carries the emotion of the moment (and there are many)...music does indeed have therapudic value (I`ve used for that purpose most of my life)...Condolences on your loss tv..I know there are no words that really provide comfort...yet we try to convey what we can.....all the best...Ed
Hi Johnny...just getting back to you on that video thing...had it on my youtube channel for a while but took it down a while back..Its a big file but I do have a squashed down Flash Video copy thats under 13 mb (not good quality) I would be happy to send you if you like...just message me if you want..my youtube, soundcloud etc stuff is under my studio (WestTracksMusic) banner...keep on...Ed
