Your piano riff is really good. When I heard your song I immediately envisioned a scene in my head. I am a very conceptual musician. I start with a concept, a word or a scene and then I can start composing. That way I can give the listeners a feel of what I felt at that moment, convince them of it, so to say. That might sound weird, but that's the way I do it :)
I wouldn't say that my version is better than yours. It is just different. As I said in my comment on your song, you convinced me of that certain feeling that your song gives. That's why I gave it a fave. In my opinion, that is the mark of good music. Thanks for letting me use your piano riff as the basis of this song and also thanks for giving me the feedback! I am glad you enjoyed it. The outro might be a tad long, but I think that it fits with the chill of the song. I will say that the silence at the end is way too long. I'll see if I can fix that someday.
Thanks again for everything!
Good track overall, really captures that tropical feel.
I thought that it would be better with something with a bit more meat, like something chordal to add to the layers.
Thanks for the encouragement, square root of minus one! :) (I really need to look that up!) I had to go on Youtube to checkout the bass from Dr. Mario Fever theme. Learning every day here on Looperman! On reflection, I think I could drop 8 bars of the fadeout. I usually only have a total of 8 bars, but for some reason this time I used 12. Will experiment. Easily done. I can just change the automation on the volume and drop it down more quickly.
It's extremely expressive, it captures the emotion of love.
Sounded a lot like the beatles at the beginning, but it morphed into something else later on.
The trumpet part in the first part sounded just a little bit out of place when it first came in.
Fantastic first part.
The second part had some expanding synths around 4:00 that were great.
Also, something like mallet percussion is prevalent throughout the second part, which added a little bit of sparkle.
The third part sounded promising as well.
It would be great if you did finish this project - I would like to hear it in it's entirety.
Thanks, sortofneg1. I'm sorry I didn't respond to your post sooner. I do appreciate your listening and leaving a comment. I agree, the third part does sound promising and it is very frustrating that I haven't been able to finish it off. I have partially completed lyrics. Not great, but getting there. My hoped-for singer didn't pan out. Still looking, but frankly, no sense locking in a signer if I don't have lyrics for them to sing. So, this remains a work in progress. Many other tracks in the same status, I'm afraid. I seem to be getting more picky about what I am willing to share (not satisfied with the quality of my tracks) and, at the same time, finding it harder to finish off anything. Is a bad combination I think. :)
The intro is probably the best throughout all of your pieces too.
The combination of the bass and the piano parts was amazing. They simply sound great together.
2:35 was the highlight for sure, the modulation was great.
The outro organ? sound was excellent as well.
The vocals aren't as bad as you might think. Of course, they can be better, but your voice still managed to capture what I thought was the essence of the piece.
Perhaps you should revisit this piece. It's way better than I think you give it credit.
Well, after reading your comment, I just had to listen to the track again to see what I thought of it after all this time. I think it definitely has promise. Needs lyrics. And a proper singer, but on reflection I think it's worth some more effort on my part. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I think I needed that. :)
It's great to hear that someone likes my music :)
First time uploading something in this community and I am pleasantly surprised by the amount of listeners and feedback!
Thank you for the comment it means a lot to me. I've been working hard on my mixing and arrangement skills and your comment let me know that my efforts are not wasted.
Again thanks for your ears and comment.

The percussion is great throughout.
I liked how you added and removed the guitar here and there.
The only thing is that I don't quite agree with how you ended it; the ending seemed a bit out of place with the rest of the piece.

Firstly, I am honoured that you thought that piano riff was good enough to create a track based on it.
I have to say that this version is amazingly good, probably even better than mine.
0:33 - 0:36 the vinyl scratching is a great touch.
The running notes around 0:56 - 1:07 really captured the feeling of a rainy afternoon well.
The pitchbend at 1:30 was a goosebumps moment for me.
1:53 was also a pleasant surprise.
Colourful chords throughout, with lots of variance in the percussion keeps my attention.
The outro was a little bit too long in my opinion.
Fantastic track overall!

I think it would be cool if you changed the main melodic instrument a little bit in the middle to mix it up.
Overall, well done!

I'm especially fond of the synth that starts around 1:08, and the subtle strings that come in later on.
The melody lines sounded unique to me.
The bass ostinato fit way better than one would think.
Great dynamic contrast as well.
Nice job!
on Falcon Trance 8 by EricMilligan
I was not expecting the flute at the beginning as the principal melody line.
I was pleasantly surprised.
The section at 0:53 sounds great. Perhaps a little change in percussion could have emphasized that a bit more.
I like how you play with the panning in the melody line throughout later on - it really adds another layer of expression.
The snap? sound with reverb when all the other instruments dropped out around 2:25 ish was excellent. It added a bit of punch.
Well done!
