Description : Gladly to be on LM again with some fresh sound. I am sorry for being away for months now. A lot of things happening the last year(for better and for worse). Found less time and creativity to be making music and listening to the tracks on LM. I am glad to see the talent is still here and really like some of the tracks that I heard here recently. It got me back on track and helped me make this track. War sax with some loungy backbone. Hope it will bring some sunny spring feelings...

This is pretty cool, acid jazz feel to it. I played it a couple times and decided to dl it, thanks! Can't say enough about the sax, outstanding! Uplifting and smooth!

Great way to come back mudhoen....dig the sax & rhodes...I think the ultimate test of a mix is wheather or not the listener enjoyed it....and I did indeed enjoy listening to this one...a big well done to you....I`m not too hung up on the fade ending...we all do them...hell, most everybody does them, but perhaps Static has a useful point...either way its a good listening piece of music...Ed

Thanks Ed. It was just my pure lazyness to fade out at the end. Took me some tries to make a more exciting ending but I think it sounds better now. At least I am glad youz liked the comeback :p!

Hello again.

"You think the rhodes on the end is too much huh?"

Yes. By keeping it, you're kind of saying to the listener: "Here is this familiar part, I want to leave you with it as the final memory of the track because I think it's such an important part".

But you could instead do something more ambitious and interesting at the end. Perhaps an abrupt stop or something unusual. I think that would make it a classier track whereas the ending now is too predictable and kind of lazy. If you could chop up some sax notes and add lots of delay so that they ring out for a while, that could be cool.

Yes, you can definitely add a little extra sugar to this and make it an excellent track rather than just a very good one.

Good luck.

Thank you for your honest review. You are absolutely right. It is a kid of lazy ending(probably will test some extra delay at the ending to make it a more dublike finish). I will work on the bass and ending this week. Will post it later on! Comments like yours are very helpful and give me hints on enhancing my tracks!

Man, this is a sick track, well done.

The mix between the sax and the lounge feel is superb.

Yo. This is cool stuff.

But I don't understand why you haven't explained where the bass is from. That's some very funky playing. Who's playing that? A sample? Maybe the bass should be a bit louder throughout. Definitely make it louder at certain points.

Cool, laidback beat and I really like that 0:37 delayed vocal snippet - well worth repeating.

And the sax is of course excellent. Nice big reverb and you can move to it. Some good samples. You seem to have had enough playing to add some different bits here and there eg 2:12 and 2:52. And 3:00 is great.

Maybe the best way to end the track would be with the sax ringing out at 3:50. No need to return to that Rhodes part as we have already heard it so many times.

Big congrats on this very rich and fine track that is great for chilling to or dancing.

The track's ending is my only real criticism.

Thanks a lot SN. The bassline is a sample. I could change the volue abit here and there on the bassline. You are right. Sometimes it is a bit too silent. You think the rhodes on the end is too much huh? You could be right as it has been played almost all track long. I am glad you liked most of it and will definetlyx work on it to give it little extra sugar on top. Thanks for you comment!

hello my friend

this is an outstanding number and work...everything is perfect here, instrumentation, mix, producing...your best I think...my question is what did you use for that sax voice? it's very 'live'...

10/10

handshake, Danke

Thanks a lot, friend. The sax are from 2 different samples that I chopped up and put together. They are both live samples and I only had to put on a little reverb and delay to make them sound like that. I am very happy that you liked it!

Jazzy chill!! Love a bit of laid back chillness, and this hits the mark!! Almost an R&B swing type beat? Anyways great sound and a lovely sax, just oozes summer with a cold beer! Well done sir! Thanks for sharing!

In the first half I used a typical hip hop/RnB beat. In the second half it changes a little to give it a little more spice. Nice that you noticed it!

Thanks for dropping by friend! I am glad you like it. Took a long time to start up FL Studio again with some fresh ideas. Sometimes you just have to hold a break instead of proceed with 'forced' tracks. I am happy to be back now!

thanks for the comment Jay. wanted the sax to stand out and therefore lowered the rhodes a bit. I might change that. Thanks for the hint!

Description : Sounds of the sea and trippy acidy washes with a cool beat and some live acoustic guitar. Written in Cubase with live guitar and keys etc. The sound of the sea and birds was recorded on the beach where I used to live. After moving to the city one sunny day I was telling stories to a friend about living by the sea and started making this track.

Description : I used some new "Anthem" pickups from L.R. Baggs on my Martin acoustic to see how it performed, and it definitely beat my expectations. Captured the sound perfectly as I needed.

Anyhoo, this song is almost a prayer, hence the repetitiveness of the verses. As Christians, we believe that God will one day return and take away every suffering and all evil for good; in that regard, this song is almost one of waiting too. Very simple, with vocal harmonies and whatnot. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Made in 13 hours.

Someone else wrote the words, I was just inspired to use them. I only added the "Yeah" and "Amen."

Description : So a guy buys a nice guitar at a pawn shop but returns it a few days later after waking from a sound sleep to hear it playing by itself. When he tells of his experience he is shocked to learn the owner had actually died while playing it. Is it fantasy or truth? Is the guitar in this track that very same guitar? Its all part of the mystery and fun of Halloween !
EDIT: modified ending to a deeper voice

Description : A progressive journey incorporating deep ambient chillout, swing jazz, hip hop, d'n'b, trance and a slight touch of acid with a thousand ninjas battling in space. Features a great deal of my lead slide resonator guitar playing. Also a whole load of synths, programmed acoustic drum kits and manipulated drum loops, big basslines, regular electric guitar, vocoded guitar parts and bass guitar (distorted right at the end). If you like deep chill, far out soaring beauty, fat beats and 170 BPM uplifting slide trance controlled mayhem, you might just get into this. In my heaven there is an endless supply of honey mangoes (an exquisite beauty of the fruit world) and even more slide guitar. A 1,000-year-long version of this track plays there on a loop (long enough not to get bored of it) but here I offer you the Earthly 11 min version. You must be very good to be accepted into my heaven to hear the full thousand year version so best start now. It may be heaven's main theme tune but it's not above criticism so feel free to let me know what you think of it. Maybe you prefer the soundtrack in hell. I hear it's pretty badass...
