I listened even after reading your warning about the bad mood, and if you knew what I was doing right now, and how my last few weeks have been, you would know that I took a big chance. That said, I love the song! I don't have any instant negative feelings after listening to it, we'll see how things go later. I love that vocal part you manipulated, it sounds just amazing! The whole mix sounded very dynamic, and there was a lot to focus on at different points in the track. Any way, deep and enjoyable song! Thank you for sharing! Fav'd!

This is some ultra fine work you've created! You've successfully shown me your world and your ideas. The part around 3:08 or so, with that crazy noise, I just love it! Great accents! The atmospheric sections with the bird sound is very effective to my ears, it transports me... where, I do not know. It was pleasurable to hear this song, and I will be faving and DL'ing. Thank you!

Thanks for that Patrick. I couldn't capture what I needed to convey until Danke came up with that brilliant synth loop. Yeah the bird sounds I was going for American eagles but the falcons in the end sufficed. I am happy with this track, I hope you're too. God bless brother. - B

on Flaming by Spivkurl -Ghostzyden Remix by Ghostzyden
Yeah, this is groovy! This almost feels like a dance mix or something. Very cool chopping and glitching on the vocals too, it goes with the style of the beat. Man, I'm very impressed, this almost has a darker vibe than the original. Especially considering which parts you left unglitched. You added some undefinable power to what the original had. Enjoyed listening very much! Thanks for taking the time to do this!

Very cool composition on this track! Seems to get me thinking and imagining, so that's a good thing. Interesting tempo, I can't tell if it's one people don't use much, or if you've just used it in a extra creative way. Sweet melodies! I'm not sure if you meant fairwells and goodbyes as a lyrical rhyme to the "sometimes" line, or if you meant that those were examples of good times. I guess those things you mention are not very good times in my experience. Not that this takes away from your song though by any means. Enjoyed it much!

on The Hypnotist - Sadness by Indozizz
I'm really enjoying your song today, as I definitely need to chill a bit! This makes me think dream trance or something related, and I don't usually listen to that, but it also has a touch of the goa sound mixed in so that makes it more fun for me. I always like your style of mixing and mastering, it's quite dynamic! Thanks for the good listen! Fav'd!

on Global Anomaly by Ghostzyden
It appears I've listened to the few things from this year and last, so I thought I'd dig deeper. Global Anomaly is a good title, and it's interesting because "anomaly" is going to be in the title of my new album... mostly telling you so you don't think I'm ripping you off...heh. Ahhh 2011, what a clusterfuck... But the song is totally killer, energetic and expressive! Seems like you were sort of using dubstep type sounds in a non dubstep setting, and I like that, the same way I like to us non dubstep type sounds in a dubstep setting sometimes. I really dig the lead sound that makes me think of a laser beam or something! You've got a good thing going, keep at it! Fave!

Haha thanks for tolerating my music LOL I thought this one was very energetic as well, maybe we should collab sometime since our sounds are so close yet so distant :) Thank you sir! I just uploaded that remix btw: http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/157514 Hope you enjoy it!

Hey, this is a pretty cool sounding composition! In recent years I have drifted away from listening to ambient works, as it's hard to find new ambient that fulfils my expectations. This one pretty much does it for me! My ambient preferences maybe are a little weird, like Brian Eno, Aphex Twin, Tangerine Dream... stuff like that... it's hard to find music like that being made now. You've built a really creative atmosphere in this track, and it draws me in. The percussion is really special and original! I appreciate the talent and effort that goes into a song like this, you should be proud! Keep at it! Fave!

Fun to listen to, and extremely effective artistically! Love the sampling you did, and FL is just awesome for that in my opinion. I used to gravitate toward train tracks when younger, and I can definitely feel that magnetism in this track. The melodies have a very free feel that I can appreciate, like organized chaos or something like that. I like the noise sound around 3:00, very raw sounding and expressive for percussion. I'm curious about your sampling techniques in FL, do you use raw one shots, or do you edit them to have a loop point? Or both for that matter. Any way, a very enjoyable trip here! Fav'd!

i am happy you were feeling this one, Pat! Dave paul-stretched the brass (big band) section. I just shortened or lengthened the entire paul-stretch clip directly in the track to get what I was after. thanks again for stopping by. really appreciate it. Dan

Hey, yeah I really dig this! Fun style of tech! After about 15 seconds, I had to start the track over because I couldn't tell if there was a high pitch percussion sound in there or if it was rattling my bong... I think it was the bong though... Loved reading the story too, and I feel some understanding. Nicely done! Fave!

Very cool song in every way! Seems more like chill out or something, but I'm glad I clicked on it all the same. The guitar and vocal parts compliment each other well, and the mixing sounds great on my speakers. I want to echo danke's inquiry regarding the waveform, as I've never really seen a song look like that, especially on Looperman. Have to wonder what was done differently. Either way, was a pleasure to listen, great work! Fav'd

on Je taime - I love You by RenzWilde
Fab retro dance hit you've done here, but I won't deny that it has some very up to date influences within! Loved the intro, reminded me of listening to a tape dubbed from a tape copied from a record or something. Then it blasts through your speakers like a good house hit should! Man that song went by way too fast! Mr Robot has lots of awesome loops, and you've used them well. Was very enjoyable to listen to, and I'm so happy you had a new track on your list today! Fav O Rit

Well, I felt sure that I had heard and commented on this before, but now I realize that I found one of your songs that I had not heard, and that is a pleasant surprise! It really is a deeply thoughtful track and experience. I'm in love with the waves of energy which are washing over me. This helps the fear and pain of recently to escape to the surface and be carried away. I could have listened to this for a couple of hours easily. Thank you for creating this. I am sure we will meet in the future, as the travelling bug laid eggs in us, and they are growing quickly. Still a bit hesitant to visit some places, and your home may be one of them, but things change. Fine composition my friend!

Hey friend! It's strange to me that no one has left a comment on this, especially with 80 plays! Well I like it much! That sax sounding part sounded awesome, was it a sample? Sounds like it. The groove and rhythm is quite cool! I guess the only part I'm not into is the choir sounds, but that's all personal preference, so nothing said about your talent. Was a very enjoyable song to hear! Keep doing what you do!

Yeah, this is great! It's been a weird five years, and stuff like this really helps me make sense of it, and also not to feel so disassociated with people. I love the style of synths and drums you used for this, kind of has the 90's vibe to me, which is good. You've got a good voice and you perform well! Excellent work! Fave!

Hey this is pretty sweet! Definitely an original take on dubstep. Great use of the vocals! This made me wonder what this song would be like at drum and bass tempos, because it seems to have that nice DnB vibe to it. The more aggressive parts are quite cool, but I like the whole thing. Excellent work! Fave!

Driven rhythm in this sweet track! I really like how balanced the mix is, sounds great! Makes me want to mosh a little bit. Cool sounding beats, kind of like filtered or something it seems. Reminds me a little of Killing Joke when they were dabbling in industrial metal type stuff, used to love that stuff. How many subliminals are in here? heh Anyway, killer track, I enjoyed listening! Definitely liking the first part a lot! Has kind of a mysterious trance vibe, it's interesting and makes me wonder what's next. Okay, got to the rock part, and it's jammin! I've got to ask, did you play that guitar? Either way, it sounds pretty sweet, and goes well with the feel of the rest of the track. I agree with FR, the breakbeat is very cool and has momentum. Quite a fun listen, I think you've done great! Fave!

I dig the sound and feel of this one! Kind of aggressive and deep. The bass on this one is very prominent, and that works with my preferences. The panning and width of this sounds pretty awesome to me. Reminds me a little of how people responded to Iris-T-Shirt's first album (the group I have with my Love), they said that if they were listening to it while driving, that they would drive off the road. Not to say I feel that way about your song, it just brought back the memory, and anyway I don't drive... heh. I liked this song quite a bit, and hope you do more like it! Fave!

Hello friend, sorry it took me song long to get to this. I must say that I have no problems with the mix on this track. I guess I like to hear a more pronounced and audible bass range, but it's hard to tell what the intention was here with the bass. The drums are very prominent and the frequencies are well represented in them. The stereo field of the drums is also pretty good. I find that the other instruments are fairly centered, though maybe wide in the sense of the effects used. Some slightly deeper panning might help. Sometimes when going for a wide sound, I will link the track to a send, pan the main channel one direction, and the send in the other direction. You can add effects to either channel or both then, and adjust the depth of panning on both until it sounds right. Panning all the way left or right can cause problems sometimes, so watch for that. Really it has a good balanced sound overall. I enjoyed listening!

I like about anything with nice bird songs, so I liked this from the beginning! The really big sounding synth in parts is really cool! I think the mix sounds very good, including panning and EQ. My only personal preference that isn't satisfied is that the drums are very low and not really there in the earlier parts of the song. It's not a big deal though, because I realize that's not what you were going for. The thumder sounded like it was coming from outside! Nice organic feel you achieved, well done!
steve010101
steve010101 replied 21st Jun 2014 - 11 years ago
Truth be told, I really wanted the drums in the early part the song to be more prominent. I tried sidechaining the kicks and removing the low end of the pads, but I just couldn't get them to shine out over the pads and vocals -- I just don't have the technical skills to get this right.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the comment. Creating this track has taught me many skills I hope to use in the future.

Kind regards,

Steve
