Pretty cool stuff, and has your signature for sure! Since you mentioned FL Studio, I couldn't help but wonder if you have upgraded all the way to v12.2 now? My main studio is using that one now, and it seems pretty good, aside from my usual gripes of audio clip and recording facilities. The interface is nice though, and has opened my mind a lot. Definitely a grimy track, and gives me reminiscent vomitous chills of 2012 (for some reason). Great work!

Very interesting style here! I guess, aside from the fact that the intro made me turn it up (a trait which I like fully and appreciate), the more metal influenced part was my favorite idea contained here... mostly due to your guitar and bass work. Some of the less layered sections of drums reminded me of various groups, including Led Zeppeling and Echo And The Bunnymen. Can't be bad can it? Either way, this was pretty inspiring to hear, as I've been hoping to do more slide recordings with that guitar I built about a year ago. It seems like that is it's specialty, so I've got to do what I've got to do. I'd love to hear you incorporate more recordings of your own percussion and drums in the future. I think it could bring things up to a totally different level. Sounding good! Fave!

Hey, Patrick. Thanks for giving this one a listen.

The heavy part is probably my favorite as well, but I also really like the lap-steep leads. It's always nice to get new instruments and let your mind wrap around them. Keeps the noodle malleable. I say that, but I just got a smartphone and I am CERTAIN it was making me dumber, so I took everything off of it, so it's just a damn phone now. That's better.

I will be doing more recording of percussion in the future. My frog guiros can't be in everything, but they can make an appearance from time to time. I'll have to build an arsenal.

Thanks again for the listen!

Dude, this is sweet! "Uplifting" is exactly the word which came to mind after hearing the first minute of the track! Always dig the style of uptempo dance which you create. Piano work sounds fantastic, and really drives the grooviness. Cool vocals, wherever they may have come from. Keep doing your thing, my friend! Fave!

Things much be changing in the dance realm, because this sounds like a combination of trap and RnB to me. So instead of flash dance, it's crack dance now... good to know. I don't know maybe you want it played at prom or something. Confused...

This is pretty fun stuff! I find the composition of the synth parts to be pretty eighties, while some of the actual sounds used put me more in mind of the nineties. The overall mixing and stuff sounded quite modern though. This is a good combination of traits for a song to my ears though, I like to combine those sorts of influences as well! Groovy, funky, dancable and all around cool. Dig it! Fave

Hello mate,
Thank you very much for your feedback I appreciated.
I quit agree with you it is a collage of the eighties and nineties with the eighties heavy ascent.
I am glad you liked it, and many thanks for the Fav’s and feedback.

Deep vintage style here, and I'm diggin it! The voice samples add a lot to the vibe! Simple beats, but it keeps the performance on point. Having fun hearing this for sure! Just got some new rap vinyl, but haven't heard it yet... maybe this will get me off my ass to drop the needle! Thanks!

I think this is a very cool idea for a song! I know that as you become used to doing vocals, you will achieve even better results... I will wait patiently to hear when this happens. I like the composition and lyrics. Thank you for sharing this with us! Fave!

Happy that you are getting involved on the site, and I hope to hear more from you. You've got some cool drum patterns in here, and the vocal sample (although familiar) works well in the context. I think that backing off on the brickwall mastering (working on the mix more if needed) would have great effect on the enjoyment of the song. I only say that because mastering such as this instantly entices me to turn my speakers way down. Usually I like a song to make me want to turn it up. Either way, I enjoyed listening. Have a good day.

First off, total respect for encouraging me to TURN IT UP! It doesn't happen as often as it should! This is chill, groovy and dark - some of the finest qualities a song can have... and we also get the free gift of PERFORMANCE. I love it! Could easily have been done by Jim Morrison or Jimi Hendrix in their time, and I mean that in only the best of ways. Amazing! Fave!

Thanks for the listen and feedback, Spivkurl. I find it interesting that you brought up Jimi Hendrix, as I have been listening to a lot of him and Kurt Cobain, lately. Nice observation. I'll update you when this project is finished!

on universeller kreistanz by joecramer
Very enticing rhythmic and lyrical structure in this song! I dig it so much! Seems like some sort of brain manipulation in the intentions here, at least to my brain. Fun and frightening at the same time, just like most excellent artistry. That big "splat" drum definitely takes control, but it works well. Great track from beginning to end! Fave!

:) Brain manipulation sounds good. And i think i know what you mean. This one manipulates also my brain. Sometimes i hear child voices and beautiful easy melodies while listen to the track. And sometimes the universe is the "normal" one and at the next time it change to a kind of a "dark" universe ......
I realy enjoyed your comment Spiv, so much gentle words. Thanks a lot for them and also thanks for the fav.

stay tuned

hi! I am glad you had a chance to listen to this one! It is quite weird loop merger but I somehow 'glued' all this by playing along a little bit of piano. It was MrRay22 plugin played from Midistudio2 midi controller, very simple. I always had problems with keeping proper timing when recording things like that (I quantized midi notes which probably produces that 'shaking' effect). It's because of the response delay of virtual instruments and the fact that I am not really a trained 'jazz' musician but classical. Now I am recording 'piano' directly via audio output. Still I am struggling with creating interesting solo lines - I need more time to think and practise.

I will be away for a while but I intend to return soon with new 'ideas for a track' hopefully. Yesterday I opened Roland wave editor just for a moment and did some quick patching experimentations (with some fine sound results) - I'll try to message you as soon as I come up with something useful for the future music.

Thank you for such a nice review and the fave! I am happy you liked what I did with the track.

Definitely a dance sort of song, and a a pop-ish length. I can see why that song of mine seemed long to you. To be honest, I am super bored of the new modern standard of a song being useless without a "drop." It seems to be how people define themselves musically any more, but I find it to be pretty cookie-cutter any more... keep in mind I'm speaking of modern EDM in general, so don't take it personally. I think if the song were less software based, then the composition itself would shine through much better, as it has some cool synth lines. Fun to hear either way though!

on Jungle Fight by RealProblemShuckers
This is fun to listen to! I can't help but agree with RogueAi regarding the genre, though it matters little. I've always thought of jungle as being significantly higher tempo than this, and less about tribal sounding drums. This does however bring me back to the days of listening to old DJ sets really loud, a time which I can not complain about. You are definitely becoming one of the heavy hitters around here, especially within your range of styles. That's good to see. Good song!

on Story of my heart by JasonCroft
While I don't usually listen to much instrumental hip hop, I can really appreciate the value of this track! Has an epic feel, and a good rhythmic flow. For a virtual piano, the part sounds pretty expressive. That synth section which people have been complaining about could be good if it were more in key and turned down in the mix considerably. The sound itself is pretty cool, heh. Thanks for sharing this cool music.

Hey, I'm so glad you stopped by my page so I could return the favor and find this one! Super cool! It's so good, I can totally forgive that it is virtual/digital turntables! The mildly aggressive tempo of this sounds great! Neat bass/synth sections! Dig it! Fave!

on Remixed Seeing Whats Next by Darklighter
Listened again, just to check things out. The sub is definitely plugged in. I listened to other things that day, so I don't think it's my system or my ears regarding the bass. I hear some low frequency action in the kick drums, but cannot pick out a bass line of any sort other than the drop. I have it turned up pretty loud this time as well. Oh well, just different ears I guess.

on Remixed Seeing Whats Next by Darklighter
I think the arrangement on this song is cool. The style is not one I like much. I've grown to really dislike the modern obsession with "drops," and music like this is basically created for the drops. Someone mentioned "future bass," and honestly I could barely hear any bass at all, even with my sub turned all the way up. Maybe that is "future bass" though... a lack of low frequencies? Other than those things, I think you mixed it well. Keep doing what you do!

i actually think there's a good amount of bass in this song.. maybe i'm doing something wrong or maybe your sub wasn't plugged in? :)

Very interesting style you've done here! It actually reminds me slightly of more recent nine inch nails stuff, like from "Hesitation Marks" maybe. I mean this in the groove/feel aspect of course, as it lacks any vocal work. But I am enjoying listening. The breakbeat sounding cymbal work is pretty cool. Hope to hear more form you in the future! Fave!

on Give Me A Chance - Opinions Needed by BradoSanz
Well, this was interesting for a pop style song. Obviously, this is far from my listening preferences. I much prefer pop music from before autotune existed, and when most instruments were actually played. Regardless of that, the songwriting did show through on this piece, and I think that is one of your strong points. This has good energy, and definitely puts some radio stuff (from my limited point of view) to shame. You said you have had mixed response to your bass on this song... I am listening with my sub turned pretty much all the way up, and I could barely hear a bass line. I could hear the kicks, but they sounded like they had there attack transients compressed. Seems like the kick and the bass both occupy the same narrow range, and I would guess that is why people are having trouble differentiating. I personally would make sure the kick has it's attack mostly intact (try saying the three times fast!) and possibly transpose the bass up an octave for most sections, and then some gentle sidechain on the bass controlled by the kick. This should bring them both out in an audible and less subby car friendly way. I realize you can't seem to access the project any more though, and I understand that problem fully... happens to the best of us. Part of why computers piss me off. Had fun listening though, thank you for sharing!
BradoSanz
BradoSanz replied 6th Dec 2015 - 9 years ago
Wow, thanks for the detailed response Spiv :) I believe that was the mistake I made. I don't have much control over the kicks as they were pre-made that way (con of using loops) but the bassline was my doing. I will try and fix it when I get my new rig :D Cheers,

Brado

on My Groove by ChaseManhattan
Hey there! I'm digging your vocal performance here! The actual instruments sound pretty cool as well. I guess my best input is regarding the constant percussion part of the main sections (I don't know what sort of perc it is, but it kind of keeps the tempo/groove)... I think it's could use some more variation, at least in velocity/amplitude. I know it's probably a loop, but you could probably chop a one shot from it, and then strip the groove as MIDI notes. This way you could trigger the one shot based on the groove, but also edit the velocities and even the offset to enhance the groove. Also would allow you to make different patterns with the same sound. Just a thought while listening. I think your lyrics and vocals are the star of the piece. Had fun listening! Thanks for sharing!

This has a pleasing melodic element, and a good pop rhythm. I'm listening quietly, but it seems to lack a bass line. Seems like this would be a necessary next step. Hoping you can develop it and get some cool vocals laid down. Enjoyed listening!

on Yours Within -ft NanuNanu by ValveDriver
Well, that was interesting! Longer than I expected! I'm trying to think of things to say, and I'm having trouble... maybe I've used too many words already today. I suppose that honesty is the best policy though. I found the combination of the vocal stylings and the metal influenced music to remind me of my least favorite time in pop culture, which is pretty much 1997-1999. This may be partly the stripper music influence though... which is totally not my scene. I suppose one thing I can say is that the mix sounds very cool. I think there are aspects in this song which I could enjoy more deeply, if it weren't for the surface which is hard for me to get past. Really any negative stuff in here is not about your artistry, but about the distance between this and my preferences, so please don't take it wrong at all. I know that you know what you are doing, and I want you to keep on doing it!
ValveDriver
ValveDriver replied 26th Nov 2015 - 9 years ago
What's happnin' Spiv?

Stripper music isn't necessarily my scene either. But a friend who used to be one wanted me to make a track just for her so she could work it into a private routine for her husband. Lucky summbitch right there!

I don't take it wrong at all, mister. I wouldn't go so far as to say I know what I'm doing, as much as I'm learning along the way. But, I suppose that applies to all aspects of life, doesn't it?

Thanks for the listen, and the comment. Your feedback is always appreciated. No matter what you say. And yes, honesty IS the best policy!

I hope you're having a good Thanksgiving....if you do that sort of thing.

Take care, man.

I'm digging this nod to earlier times, at least in a sound design respect! The minimal nature of these makes me want to hear this composition recreated by a string quartet or something.... that would be fun to hear. It could also be developed into an excellent dance song. I agree that the ending part is very cool synth work, both enticing and exciting! Fun stuff! Fave!
