you have a really cool post-punk, shoegazer, beach boys thing here lol...

lyrics are freaking awesome...
you could probably get on a label with the two tracks i have heard..

can you reproduce this live?
I think they have those auto-tune rackmounts.. I mean-- I totally would dig this with the auto-tune or not!

on Please Try by biffsteelmeetsjohnnyparty
totally dig the auto-tune work!!

you do it better than most of blatant abuse of auto-tune that has been going on in pop-music today...
the honesty feels kinda sarcastic? I hope you don't take offense!
I am blown away man!
nice!
thanks for the d'l, ima put it on my ipod
biffsteelmeetsjohnnyparty
Hey thanks man! i only have garageband on macbook to record stuff with so when i lay down the singing tracks all i do is turn the advanced tuning all the way up and sync it to the key..lol..i dont even know what that means or what it does my friend just told me to do it and i thought it sounded pretty good! haha... thanks for the compliments man really appreciate them! i just got done recording a little more of this song you should check it out! on How stupid men can be by FrenchKid18
hey man!
i really enjoyed this!

would you be offended or upset if i tried to cover this?

you are awesome! I love the british accent you have.. it's just sitting there in the mix soo real and soo well.. to be honest reminds me of the smiths or the cure... which I think is amazing lol
dude, even the beatles

and i mean that in a complimentary way, you definitely have style on this

You ever noticed how like? some british artists sing with an english/US accent?.. american accent, and then some artist, from the u.s., they sing like a british accent or.. you know..
ahh
i am ranting..
but you know what i mean? some artists just have that phonetic thing, and i really enjoy it on this track...
ahem, i feel dumb

Great track!!

so i wanna cover this!
would'ya mind?

FrenchKid18 replied Unknown
Hi man,
Really appreciated your very kind review.I'd love to hear your version, especially cause I like your work as you know.Funny what you said about the accent because I always feel you can hear my French accent on most of my songs!
Do you want me to send you the tracks or chords of the song?
Cheers

lol
:)

this really great stuff man!

I really enjoyed this!
I still wanted more loudness, as opposed to the warm compression... but I think that's just one of the things you and I would kinda differ on. I don't think my way of doing things is any better, but I like harsher volume... i guess?...
regardless, I love the sounds!
ahem

Much Respect for the bass!

agree with mistermeaner

i think you will crap your pants when you hear AIR ....
especially "Moon Safari"
you would be in their band if they knew you lol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_(band)

anyway...

I do dig ....
But again

YOUR DRUMS... i just need more drums... they seem soo flat to me..
do you try reverb? or compression? dynamic compression?
EQ?
anything on the drum sample?

anyway

still love your style.
tight.

on Rolling Towns by Shardlow
is that bass planetjazzbass? or you?!?!?
wow

either way, GREAT JOB PLAYING BASS!
I want to collab with you someday!!!!

wow...

snare different... something seems flat about the snare... It felt soo "flat"... On the snare clicks it was fine, but the whole sound.. I dunno.. maybe a piccolo sound would be better?
I have no idea...
I am just riffing ideas at you

have you tried mixing an electronic kit, and a real sounding kit like you have ? double up the midi? it may even out the sounds a little beef up that rhythm.
Plus with a little love and texturizing you could have yourself one powerful rhythm section that would still fit nice and snug in this little dreamland?

I love the bass tone too! don't get me wrong when I say this, but for SOME reason, I heard a phaser/flanger on the bass in my head along with the dreamy arpeggio xylophone from the 11th dimension. lol
The addition of maybe just one oscillating effect on the bass (lightly) might even take the whole mood of this track to a whole new level.

Anyway man, glad to meet your music!
Keep it up!

Shardlow replied Unknown
yep that's me on the bass. Thanks for the various reviews Gonna go back and rework the drums on most of the tracks. Mixing is pretty new to me so your advice is awesome - already treid compression last nite and it made a big diff in pulling the drums up in the mix.

Biggest gap is some synth texturing, somthing that can ebb and flow in the background. My vst instruments (SampleTank) are giving me som issues, so I haven't been able to make something tasty yet.

Do you know, or have any textures you could send or direct me to.

Working on another track right now and need that synth in order to complete the first mix.

It's bassy..very bassy...with some ethnic vibe in there too.,

lemme know if you can help

Cheers mate

I understand that this is quite old, and I didn't see any recent projects...

but

I do have to say, dude... whatever the hell it is you do, in life, always occasionally make some music, but you got some real talent at arranging..
I think it was Eshar that first told me you only mixed with loops.
My jaw freaking dropped lol.
You create better soundscapes than I do with all my musical power/powerlessness lol

anyway

This song was about the package..

Someone got caught, and now the package, with the cure, is just there, and the battle ensues, while it's just lost. And it's right there. Right there in front of everyone's faces.

Shrug.

Dude, I would love for you to arrange a song with me.
I make up crazy sounds, and you arrange em lol

on Rivot by KDLproject
i love it.

Agree with goosemeyer, but, I know, as I have heard your tracks on and off over a year or soo, and they are always just consistently great.

Great knack for arrangement, and production.

This is definitely a showcase of that... but I do want to add, woulda shoulda coulda been awesome if you had more guitar loops and one other fill.

Maybe one change. like a bridge, altho, the 2 minute mark was an incredible twist, as was the end.

Freaking awesome.
Downloaded and faved.
gonna listen to another one

KDLproject replied Unknown
Thanks for the review man...and I totally hear what your saying, that's one thing that always has hindered me with my tracks, not being able to play an instrument forces me to make tracks with the loops I can find...haha. I value your comments, and you're a cool cat in my book - you're a long time looper I have always had mucho respect for (musically and your views)... I've been pretty busy lately but would love to colab in the future man!

on Whistle While You Wilt by GotCheeve
Hmn.

Lyrics are amazing.. on your vocs, you have the delay/verb ... but
I wanted it down.. just bein' honest. mixing at specific words?
meh?
lose some?
but keep some! Your effect felt soo forward that it messed with the vocs..
just a little..

"whistle while you wilt, ... "
ahh
soo tight.
high's down, volume down, but mids up, and vinyl distortion, "lightly" and then increase the volume for dynamics?

It might sound almost acoustic, but I thought about that listening. lol

alright man
keep 'em coming, this is the kinda music I enjoy.
Faved no matter, I love this track!

Good Job scavengerdink too!

on Whistle While You Wilt by GotCheeve
i gotta be honest with ya man

the highs are HIGH, but i mean freq's, and your compression is always wacky, but I like the compression....
let it turn red?
for example?
that one had this EPIC compression, and it really added to the dreamy dying thing...
on this

you have the compression again..... I do like that.

but
I do want to point it out? just in case you hadn't noticed it?

you are the dope underground raper.
not one of
or
just a

but the dopest underground raper i have EVER heard.

and sh*t man, it isn't even like rapping.. it's like telling me a story.

I think a lotta rappers just boast and bully.. you f**king tell a story!
:)

i don't smoke-- much.. but I am gonna smoke to this right now.

Weed is just a plant.
I don't know how it relates to "jah". No one can explain Rastafarian-ism to me-- and i hang with allotta pot heads.

Amazing

I am going to review again

I love the growl .. on about 1:oo to 2:00

YOU ROCK! k?

I want you to know that before I saw this ...
err
wait-- that came out all wrong lol
That I was a little put off, but the emotional content!
This was AMAZING.

but
vocals more forward!
guitars actually guitars!

drums where awesome! but i woulda mixed two kits...

You got it tho.
This is just undeniable.

Lyrics where the best part.

on get away by phraes
lol
at first I was like
wtf is this guy doing

and then it just hit me...
this is just amazing!

it's like russian orcheastra crescendo's!

oh how i would love a key change tho!

wow

that's something else man.

I say this only as an opinion:
I wanted a key change, drop it a fifth right when the xylophone and synth sync around 1 minute and go from there.. sh*t man try dropping all the midi down 2 white keys... try something to move the arrangement?
some reverb? I love ambient reverb

very cool stuff bro!
I dunno if you got my e-mail, but I am down for a collab, I got some heavy stuff on their now, but I would love to work on something sometime?
maybe even this?

on Tonight by DanGuidance
Hey dan?
I like this one the most...

this one really really speaks to me...

I wanna say something to you?
and I just want you to know that it ..is just my opinion!

I really agree with DJSwing.
Yet.. There is harsh contrasts.. which in some way is fine.. I like that!
But you know.. I am really into dynamics.. like things having depth, and I mean that shallowly. This track HAS DEPTH. But the synchronization of the loops and samples kinda just harshly stand out?...

Things I have done personally .. and this is just my opinion, just my thing, but I use track automation to set up compressions and volume fades, panning and all types of stuff.

Typically I will get my song in order in around 2 hours, and then I spend 2 weeks just getting it right.
then I spend 2 weeks mastering..

I don't think highly of my tracks tho..

So...
I just want you to know
that some compression coming on and off, some depth with reverbs and delay but used lightly, and smoother transitioning via panning or volume where my biggest opinions.

I still loved the track,
and your videos are AMAZING.

Faved this one...
What program you use?

DanGuidance replied Unknown

yeah definitely repetitive but it lends itself to the "trance" thing that house music unabashedly and stubbornly clings too.
lol
I really enjoy things that in a contextual way juxtapose each other. The break near the end was gold.

I still like your style tho... i mean.. i like house
but any guy with a DAW throws some on the floor bass kicks and compression and they assume they "get it".
But maybe it's me--? I don't "get it?"
meh

But please don't think I am talking down about house--- I couldn't write a house song to save my life.

I mean--- I really hate to speak down on music-- and i really mean these comments out of love.

This is like the original mountain dew-- better than all the crappy flavors they have been producing lately lol

Great stuff -- your style is just "THERE" man. You can't fake that...
