You done it again! adding your vocals to this track (or any track you choose) works very well. Lots of urgent desperate atmosphere on this track that hits you in the face, so as to speak. You should be doing incedental music for films. If the industry guys are listening, then look no further.......

Hi Frenchkid,

not been in loopsland for a while so I thought I'd check out my "regular reviewers"...came to this track of yours and was straight into the groove on this one so I downloaded it. have a few ideas so if you can send me your e-mail I could send you a wav file later. Songwriting in its best form is from experience, from the heart. This is what you have here. a top-notch song, hope I can do it justice by adding a little backing.

on Transformation by HMNN
I have discovered the most amazingly creative people never went to any specialised college/school/university, they just got on and did what they do without restrictions or restraint. I put you amongst those kind of people as your creative composition here is, to my ears, as good as if not better than some compositions I have heard on films and TV. I can "see" the transformation as I listen, and could also have gone in cinematic. you got it man !! and this is the place to get your talents more noticed.

just what I needed.....a very relaxing track. I like the use of the pitch of the percussion going up/down. works very well in this mix. you have a very distinct style that I think will work in many genres. thanks for posting this one..

on The Ghost and The Girl by Jowe
This track of yours is definately "weird". The whole idea gives me the creeps......musically this is a tremendous track with lots of busy phrases and melodies that tell the...er...weird story. Reminds me of Mike Oldfield in that sense and Could easily have gone in Cinematic. You have a great way of bringing across your theme in your music and articulating your thoughts and imagination. The subject material is not my thing but your music definately is so maybe for your next composition perhaps you could choose a more pleasant title like "The Elf and the Fairy"...ok...maybe not. Great track nontheless.

on Funky Mix by Randall822
Guitars ! Guitars ! Guitars ! ... a blazin' on your tracks and this one is no exception. You got it as funky but I can hear just the slightest hint of country rock in there also. Whatever the style : this track has got it ! well put together and another classic.

Hello Daniel,
I added this tune in July, so that was quite awhile ago and thus you missed it back then. Anyways, I am happy that you got to hear it and you liked it as well.
I tried 3 different styles in this tune including slife guitar which I don't seem to hear on here out of 267,000+ members. Strange isn't it?

I'll stop by your page and see whats new with you.

Now this is what I call infectious listening !! The timing of bringing in your phrases/instruments in this mix works very well. keeps the listener in anticipation of whats coming next, and is impossible to keep still to. Having listened to some of your other tracks I always think of you as being a piano player so in that sense this track has come as a surprise. A great tune/mix/production. keep on making your music it's well worth the effort on your part to us listener-folk.

on Waiting for the van ft WayneThe Humps by FrenchKid18
Yo Frenchkid !! I'm no praying mantis but I saw this track of yours in the "featured" box and thought I'd give it a blast and a review. I'm glad I did...I agree with the other looper-reviewers, this is one class track worthy of airplay. A friend of mine's son produces mini album CD's of his own material and gigs across the UK. Your tune here is on a par with his and in some ways even better. I don't know if you gig or have a mini album with 4 to 6 songs on it but you could well do so and get interest. I know a lot of "unsigned" solo acts gig at colleges and Uni bars in the daytime. If you're gonna do any UK gigs I'll be your manager !! With each listen to your tracks they are improving and have developed your style. Great Song in every way.

What a nice review, lol!I don't think I'm gonna tour in the U.K or even anywhere soon cause I don't even have a band but if I do one day I'd like you to be my manager and my lead guitar player too, lol.I might do an album though cause I got quite a lot of songs now but I still have to improve my mixing alot!
Cheers

on Sad Love Story by Jeffiedillard
Yet again !!! You pour your feelings and emotions into your songwriting and you come up with a winning formula. I like the simplicity of this track, the acoustic guitar and sort of slightly subdued drumtrack that allows your voice to be the prominent feature of this track. This has a slight Latin feel to it that adds to the subject material you are singing about. I'm not giving marks out of 10 but if I did this would have to be 11. has that dreaded writers block been given the old heave-ho yet??. doesn't seem a problem to me. Another Class-Composition.

A very 80's sound (which I can remember...and beyond..!!) the simplicity of this track makes it work, uncluttered with a good blend of sounds. You ARE a songwriter and being on this site will enhance those skills even further. very enjoyable and listenable track so much so me has downloaded same.

on Find Love by Jeffiedillard
You have an amazing gift for coming up with a melody and vocals that fits whatever tune you want to work with, and this one is no exception. Once again yr vocals bring presence and feeling and I've said this before to other loopers here, for me you are one of the top female vocalists/songrwriters on this site. Writers block ? hope it's gone away and stays away, keep on with your great music...

I also downloaded that beat you use here from Looperman, and it's interesting to hear what you have mixed with it. Builds up nicely and I was thinking about adding a guitar track and letting you hear it when I got more time.

Thank you very much, I respect your feedback considering you obviously have a great deal of experience yourself! I must admit though, I have strayed away a little bit from my guitar lately and started dabbling into digital audio software. Fl studio to be precise. This software is amazing. Still in the process of sharpening the skill of editing and hopefully, once I do that, I will be blending my original guitar work with Fl studio as well. Peace.

on Get up and dance by WhiteSands
A very nice production that builds up carefully. A good sound but I think you played it safe and kept things within controllable parameters. I know these things are all down to personal choice but I wondered if the tempo could have been slightly quicker. I'll give your other tracks a listen when I get more time. Good track with a catchy riff.

on couldnt win by LisMarie
To say you did this as a quickie shows you have great somgwriting talent. If you got more time I'm sure you could produce something thats right up there with the top chart material. Having said that, this track is very infectious in that you just gotta keep listening..for me that's the hallmark of a well-crafted song in any genre. Lack of time is one of my issues also, but I would like to be involved in producing something you might do in the future.....Seeing as you're busy busy busy book me in for 2114..!!..lol...great song.

You have a great style and a punchy sound which I like. I struggled a little to hear the definition in your words but that may be my headphones (which aren't that good). Keep on giving out your message for him. Peace.

The struggle to hear the definition in the lyrics is not just you or your headphones. I'm getting a lot of that in reviews. I hope someday soon to be able to retake the vocals. Thank you for the review; I'm glad you like the style!

ya-hay!! you done it again! I used to have an old jalopy piano. you can't beat em for turning out the atmospheric stuff which is what you did here. it reminds me of those "autoplay" pianos that have a metal cylinder with holes in. kind of pre-cambrian midi. I've always liked this song, and I reckon you had a laugh putting this one together..great stuff

on sad by profplum
I can hear why you think this is Forrest Gumpesque but it's not as "off with the fairies" as that tune... and I agree with DuckCez about the cinematic thing. You have created a very moody-broody sort of feel to this track and it gives me the impression of someone who has come to a complete stop....and is just in that emotional cloud called sad. Excellent composition that grabs your attention from start to finish.

Speak to me caught my eye and I gave your track a blast. The rhythm, melody and your voice work together well and you have created a great musical backdrop for your message...for me ; "speak to me" is a prayer of mine. the more I mean that I find the more he does..

on this is just a test by miots
WOW. Miots man back in town!! Great track and I think you need someone with a "rock" voice to add vocals for the first bit and then mellow out for the jazz part. Here are a few ideas for vocals = "This is just a test. play it close to my chest. no-one need know I'll just keep on smilin' This is just a test, they say just do your best. thing is now I'm slidin' now I'm compromising, I find it's hypnotising. this is just a test?? well I failed and wailed and bled my tears, but keep on hanging on to my fears...(just a few ideas) hope this helps. Keep on making your classic sounds.//
