Isn't this comp great? I've discovered your music and you've discovered mine! I'm truly blown away by how much really GOOD music has been posted, and if it's not revitalizing the site, it sure is revitalizing my interest in the music here. Really looking forward to checking out more of your work - Thanks for the review and encouragement here!

on Away Away... by LisMarie
You have a distinctive and expressive singing style and your songwriting skills make for the ideal blend. I would have put this track in R & B rather than acoustic because of the chord structure and..well...the style...lol.. Microphones are my enemy too, so I can empathise with that problem. this tune is big step in the right direction and a big indication of what you are a capable of composing and producing...and I suspect we are gonna hear a lot more of what you can do.!!! keep up the good work.

on Soundtrack me by Jowe
Wow. This is what I would call a very moody broody track, lots of dark emotion you have poured into this classical sound. I know this is something you had to do as you mention the nightmares thing but I immediately thought of a chase scene in a film in a dark forest kind of thing. Allthough you have put this in classical it could easily go in cinematic. So much imagery coming off this melody and arrangement. On first hearing I get the impression there is much more to your music creating and arranging than solely classical good as it is. Be great to hear some of your stuff in another genre.

This track you made is like so easy on the ears. It's silky-smooth and draws you in to keep on listening. You have an amazing way of putting sounds together that blend and chill so well. A true gift..keep on making that music in his name. Peace.

on 12 String Gone Wild by Randall822
Hi Randall..,Love that electric 12 string, I got a 12 string acoustic track on my page, but nothing as gutsy as this.
This reminds me a little of the Byrds with ZZ top added then the Randall punchy rock treatment to make the whole thing very prominent and "in your face".
Once again superb playing and a masterful production. Great sound!!

Hi ya Daniel,

Thanks for stopping by and listening to this 12 string track I put together. It has been up quite awhile, but new songs dissappear off the front page in a matter of minutes sometimes.
So thank goodness for the 'Featured' section as many of my songs see new life.. ;-)

The 12 string...which is a newer Fender Strat model as shown in my pics, is the one I used. I used to have a 1967~ version with the hockey stick end headpiece on it. Now that baby would be worth $5k today if I still had it. You know how early on, your trading this and that...

I may have already listened to your acoustic 12 string...if not, I will certainly listen to it and give a review back...or a different tune for sure.

When I put together that tune, it was just a mish mash of sounds I had in my head I wanted to hear. So that is why most of the sections are short.

Then I got crazy and rev'd it up towards the end.

So I plan on adding more 12 string in ....in the future. At the moment I am trying to work my 2 korg keyboards in to my music for the extra variety they can give me.

I am working 12 hour nights now without any time off for about 35 nights more....so no music is getting made at all. I have to sleep during the day best I can.

later pal,
Randy

on ZooMuzik "Utopia" by ZooMuzik
Anything with Jan's name on it has to worth a listen and this collab with Salkizar has got all the hallmarks of a top class production. Excellent timing in the music of bringing in the sounds. there are several build ups with the big cymbal type splash sound but it sort of hangs there for a moment..keeps you guessing. For me, this is a top-notch production and is light years ahead of some of the so-called touring DJ's who use their own material. You could easily tour the clubs of europe with sounds like this...(I haven't got the time but I sure would like to be your manager..!!) You gotta get this track onto other music sites for further exposure. I seriously think it's that good. Zoomuzik are going places .....

on This Is I Want You by aliyarose
You have a distinctive style that's definately chart material. catchy tune, nice progression and build up of the music. I guess the only thing that's missing is some sort of pop-video as I can certainly "see" the characters in your song. this track gets my vote 10/10

on Just Chilling by Dangren
I havn't got the technical expertise or knowledge of some of the guys here in loopsland...I simply know when something sounds good and makes me want to listen to the whole track rather than the first 10 seconds. That's what you have here, you have an excellent style of musical composition, arranging and producing. OK it's the dreaded learning curve with the software but you are making great inroads into using FL8 ..? You seem to be unhindered by your use of software and the creative flow..(wish I could be !!)...great work, superb track..more please?

This track rocks!! Bilbozos style of lead guitar and your vocal blend together well. I would love to hear a "vox-friendly" mix if thers one around. Maybe you could do an extended mix jam-along with a long bilbozo lead guitar solo? just an idea... Great track..

on Thats What She Said by DuBzReCoRdInGsTuDiO
I put this track on first without reading what you'd put, and I thought wow that's a different style for the Dubz-man. then I realized this sound is coming from a band.. The Gordyz are going places..indie-rock with the live energy and what I would call "skiffle" beat from the 60's. no such genre on loopland so rock it is !!

Listening to this track I wish I had some kind of customised sports car to play this one in it LOUD and go cruisin' round my neibourhood, unfortunately I only got a lowly estate car but this track is quality !! Excellent production, playing and composition. Seeing as there is no download yet when can and where can we buy??

I love how you have put this all together... starts out very chill but when the 2nd rhythm and synthesizers kick in it's kind of edging towards dance. Could this be a new fusion type genre : DanceChill maybe ? Very well produced and timed.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for checking this Punk tune out. I have a bunch of loops for these type of songs. I like adding in my own material though so as to make it 'mine'.

Vocals would be a welcome addition.
50 downloads...? Wow, guess I should check back more often within my own tracks.

Thanks again for the nice comments.

on Western Showdown by Randall822
I love this sound. Reminds me of the shadows sound of the 60's things like "Apache". The timing of where you brought the acoustic guitar and base works very well. You not only play very well but have a good ear for a well-thought out production. What electric guitar are you using for the lead part, the tone and sound of those pick-ups are superb. Sound like humbuckers to me??
Randall822
Randall822 replied Unknown
Hi Daniel,

Your right on the ball...Just received a message from you while I am writing this one. ha!

I usually state in a songs description if I use loops or whatever to help me out. Example: I don't play fiddle so I use loops for that in my country songs, or wherever.

I have lost track of the many thousands of loops I have boughten. Last year I bought 10 CD's full of loops from an English company. I haven't gone thru even half of them yet. Lot of orchestra stuff I don't need.
I also bought a guys entire library of CD's he made himself, another 10 CD set.
These have some Jazz loops and many other styles.

But, I still enjoy doing most of my own playing. I am not getting any younger. :-)))

I am glad you liked this country tune. I used my 'Framus' Les-Paul-lookalike guitar for this one as it does indeed have Humbuckers. It is a 1971 model made originally in Germany and worth a bit now.

That Apache song you mentioned, that was one of the first tunes I learned to play while I was stationed in France, after learning chords. The other was 'Needles and Pins' by The Searchers.

Didn't have an amp over there, so I rigged up a transistor radio to play the guitar thru the radio's speaker. It worked enough so I could hear it well. I copied the original artist Jorgman Ingman? style, then The Ventures version too. Don't belive I heard The Shadows version.

Anyways, I love old westerns as much as anyone else, and so I decided to try something and this is what came out. I added in the gunshots at the end as I thought it would be a good way to end it.

Thanks for your comment and have a nice day. Sorry for the long reply, I get carried away!!!

If you had not put a title to this track then I would have suggested some kind of battle scene in a fantasy world. Your music is very dramatic and atmospheric, full of imagery. If the PC game industry guys get to listen to this then I can see them using it for a new game maybe. Very good mix that builds up in the right way.

on Energy by AidansTrance
Your track lives up to it's name and energy is what comes across. A well-timed mix with the right sounds. You have a good "ear" for production and can place sounds in the right context. I think Holly would add a tremendous vocal as someone said in a review. Possibly Sleepangel also as she can create an amazing lead vocal and did this on one of my tracks. Listen to her track "cry of despair".

on Love Filter by JHolmes
This review is overdue. you reviewed some of my tracks so I thought I would do what I said months ago and give yours a blast. First, sorry to hear about your split with your lady, but then you wouldn't have produced this masterpiece maybe. music composed from emotional experience has high-impact on the listener (like blues). this is what you have here. I'm thinking a sort of quiet-rap by you in reflective mood would add to this track. just an idea.

on The shivering line by FrenchKid18
You have a great rock style of songwriting which, for me is very listenable and addictive. the scratch on the mic effect on first listen I thought it did not work, but after a few listens it's part of the mix you expect it to be there. I think the more you write rock and other songs the more slick it will sound. Great track !

A very laid back track so I can see why you put it in chill-out but because of the weird and sad feel to this my first reaction was cinematic, then I read what you put. I shall have to give "The Fountain " a view and listen to the sound track. For me, your mix works very well and creates it's own moody broody atmosphere. Well produced and put-together.

Thanks for the listen man. Yea definitely I can say it's inspired by 'The Fountain'. I won't say it has a very big correlation to the movie but it had an impact on how I heard this in my head.

It's definitely electro but you have a little R & B in there could it be RelectroB ?? maybe not.. but it's one very listenable and slow groove track. The vocals draw you in to listen and the mix does not over-emphasise in any department. Great Track !!
