hi, very nice work so far. Maybe it's just me but drums have some very long (too long!)reverb. I think the song will sound better and more energetic without all the processing you've used on them... Somehow the bassline is not clear as well... and all that affect the entire mix. More wavy-chillout than breakbeat (for me:)) so far. So I just suggest you maybe to find some better sound again... if you will be reworking it eventually...
But I like it and this is some really good production overall.
A.
Hi!
Sorry you had to listen to the first version - it was quite terrible!!
It's a litte better this way I hope - the reverb on the drums is still there but I took away an EQ from the master channel and rearranged and added some percussion and other stuff.
It's not there yet though, still too muddy. I also agree about the lacking energy part - have to find out how to fix that.
Thanks for listening!
hi WongKiShoo,
this is very cool old-styled electronic. Definitely reminds me of some 80's music... drums, 'detuned' synth lead (0:50), reverb added to the backing vocals... - this is very 'retro'.
I do not know the original song but for sure can appreciate your work here. Very nicely done. I had great time listening to this one!
Greetings,
Alex
I quite like the retro sound in this :D .. the snappy snare that sits back in the mix particularly. The original is a great song and mine doesn't really compare to it.. so maybe it's a good thing you don't know the original ;)
hi RampatheSwift, very nicely done, chill, easy, relaxing vibes. I like how you work with all the samples and elements of the song. Nice e-piano rhythms and motifs that you're playing. This fat synth bass-lead maybe stands out a bit by first listening, but still provides more 'gravity' to the composition... nice glassy pad.
Looking forward to hear the complete song. I thought you might just remove some parts and 'compress' it in 4min. That could be good for finding even some better balance and sound in the final mix.
But you could extend the song as well!
Very creative work - Im enjoying it a lot.
Alex
Thank you for your comments Alex! Yes i do have problem with having super lengthy songs and i agree it could make for a better arrangement of instrumentation and bigger impact if it were shorter. I did take into account the synth bass being sort of out of place but i will try mix in better. Great that's something to focus on.
hi, somehow I wish I had some dnb ditectly, I mean at 0:7.
Instead there's some chill intro like 'Ambient Galaxy' from 90's AP and it is still continue like this and Im enjoying it a lot! Definitely an AP vibes on 3:52 (for me)!
Greetings,
Alex
Excellent noise sound along the first part... Im courious about that.... Too bad you leave it and the second part seems to turn into something else... But still very nice production overall. Nice ending too - unexpected!
Alex
Im much enjoying your ability to put some comments on your own tracks and also having a multiple tracks bumping up on the top of a list. It's just great!
All the best to you,

hi, actually I like minimal music...
indeed this is extremely minimal... concerning of how you work with all the pre-chosen material...
simply: GREAT MINIMAL
Alex
hi, very raw guitar blues improvisation along the track... it is absolutely fascinating listening to you playing eventhough you're only using some simple repeating backing track... great jamming and lots of interesting blues riffs just to enjoy and to listen to...
really nice work.
Alex
Thanks Alex....yes I laid down the rhythm tracks first and then went back and just jammed to it. The lead was done in one take. Glad you dug it and I appreciate the kind words.
very nice chill vibes on this suite of 2 house tracks.
connect to the self... to the source... some 'spiritual' stuff and very relaxing tune you've made:) I am having a great time listening to this. really nice work.
Alex
hey, really nice song. I like the vocals at 0:41. The violin (from 0:27) has some processing added which I find a bit strange ...Agree with Chris: the drums are far too straight, especially when combined with choir in the second part (3:36)... But it is still very nicely put together. It is more like a 'fusion' genre for me: you seem to mix different styles - mostly pop with cinamatic with pumping rock drums, haha... Nice ending. Good dynamic along the piece. Too much limiting added to the track (for me).
Glad you liked it . im not a man of one genre haha, i dont like sticking to one genre, even within the same song sometimes haha, gets boring. Thanks for your time :)
this main riff has definitely a latin feel. Great funk interlude starting from 1:53 - very nice theme-transformation!
many interesting turnarounds and reprise. Simply great!
Alex
wow! you were not kidding open different possibilities. that was an unexpected application in your track - but VERY NICE! thanks for finding a home for part of it.
if you don't mind - I have a pair of chill cat paintings that I would like to use that track with. I have a website where I match original audio with contemporary paintings. Here are the cats: http://www.audiosparksforart.com/art-wants-music/
a very enjoyable music so far... quite simple motifs that could be developed into something more, the simplicity opens a doorway to different possibilities... but still nice music as it is now...
Alex
yea. amazing how hard it is sometimes even to put a few simple motives down in a good way. but yea - hoping to move into a second section now (after a break). thanks for checking it out, Alex, and positive words. Dan
hi, really nice work with merging different elements together to create this song... Very good use of guitars from Tumbleweed. I am enjoying this a lot. Nice piano and orchestra parts define the melancholic mood of this composition...
Fits nicely at Sunday afternoon,
A.
hi, nice quasi-classical-piano-sonata! Really great work eventhough it's only a midi-piano. Very pretty composition that reminds me a little of the classical sonatinas (little sonatas) or just some excercise-etiude for piano solo.
A.
Thank you so much for your comment i actually love to compose on midi in mathematical sequence, although i never studied music yet i find composing in midi is really advance for beginners like me.
hi, somehow it sounds to me like a chillout track apart of the
noise and weirdness added... Excellent bassline and a kind of a piano sound... Intro reminds me of some music from Rich/Lustmord. Very deep and relaxing composition but also a bit strange. NIiice production.
Alex
really nice piano playing. Reminds me a bit of some classical stuff like Paul Hindemith piano music (2:13 - 2:25). Sounds really interesting. Too bad you just layered the piano with other instruments instead creating some new parts... But this sounds really good like this so far and I really like it.
Nice work.
A.
Yeah I had trouble deciding if I should make a new part or layer the instruments, but I couldn't come up with great solutions for new parts so went with layering it
interesting...
I do not remember the original version in details but you may check 2:58 and 3:10 . Maybe it's just me but sounds like some part clashes. Or maybe it's just the sound of the violins you've used:)
Anyway really good work.
A.
yea i didnt like the original phrase there so i changed it...you must know it well hahahaha.it's
i actually dont like alot of the orioginal phrases, they sound too........prehistoric....
hi, many thanks for your replies and putting a link to this one: I've listened many times to this. And also I did some piece that somehow is based on yours but I think it's completely different... Anyway what I like the most here is the bassline and the first part (0:20 - 0:39). Very interesting and groovy playing but secial... I like also intro and the vintage synths you're using in introduction.
Very interesting guitar soloing - lots of little motifs played but very expressive - you have some really specific and unique sound and style.
I am courious also about the structure of this composition, I mean there's no really versus/chorus or something. To me it feels more like intro/part 0:20 - 0:39 that could be also the 'highlight' chorus/ dark guitar solo/brighter, upper register guitar solo from 1:57/suspended ending.
Nice work with finding a kind of a resonance of the sitar over guitar (2:45, 2:47 and so on). That sounds uniqe. I think I can hear it even better on your other tracks...
I will listen also to the full version of this if it's available...
Alex
This track was going to be the first 4 mins of a much longer deep shuffle blues epic. But I changed my mind and decided it would be better to keep this as a short track and then use the other material I had already composed for the other epic track.
Together they would probably be about 15 mins and I'm trying hard these days to do some shorter tracks (but I find it difficult). Here is the longer one, which is also a deep exploration of chillout shuffle blues (but it gets much more rocking than RAOHK):
I think the bass in RAOHK is probably best during the solo (from 1:57).
"I like also intro and the vintage synths"
I don't know if that pad intro synth is vintage but someone else said the same so I guess it is. I use it for the intro of another track I'm still working on.
"Very interesting guitar soloing - lots of little motifs played but very expressive"
Yes - my actual live playing is not as good as you hear. I carefully edit and join together the best bits of guitar solo jamming so try to find all the best little motifs and join them together in a fluent, expressive way. This is probably my best chillout guitar solo. 3:02-3:14 is my favourite section.
"structure of this composition, I mean there's no really versus/chorus"
Yes, it is strange - like many of my tracks. There are a couple of minutes of moving around different riffs and sounds and then it's a 2 min solo (so, half of the track) and then the end. No verse or chorus or bridge or middle 8 but not just a blues jam.
"a resonance of the sitar over guitar"
Yes, I think it's very unusual. Never heard anyone try that with blues before. Not much sitar in blues music! Now check out the sitar and tambura in There Goes Gravity. Lots more guitar riffs and soloing in that track.
Thanks for your very accurate and detailed review.
hi, this track reminds me of some song from Tiesto that I was listening to when driving my car a couple of years ago... I can't remember the title of the song but that was my first impression after listening to your piece. Nicely done.
Alex
hi johnnyproducing,
nicely done electro track. I'd say I've listened alot of 90's AstralProjection especially 'Trust in trance' or'Ambient Galaxy' but at the moment I'm much more 'acoustic'... Anyway I am enjoying a lot the work you did with the leads here and programming them. I guess all lead-ins like this are crucial for creating dimamic on the 'electro' track and so on and you did it weryy well.
I agree with the laviathin comment and suggest you to maybe add some pads... It might give some interesting background - some harmonic 'context' to the leads. But it is still very 'electro' so far.
Greetings,
Alex
Well to come back to that, I tried adding in paths or harmonizing but they just didn't go together well for this track, I actually tried numerous times but I couldn't get it to work ;(
Anyways I am glad that you enjoyed the track, I did a lot of work on the leads and such to give them a more unique feel and I am glad I bring that message over ;)
Very nice work so far... Definitely too much compression added, especially on the piano(!). Somehow I would have this song sounding much warm and easy as the genre is... There is no space in the mix and I cannot hear really strings and other
elements in the arrangement cause vocals are dominant overall... Maybe would be good to work with the voice part, I mean: add some eq and make the backing vovals sound warmer... But still it is a very nice song.
A.
Alex dear ,please excuse me for latency in reply .
many thnx for attention & the shared comprehensive comment.

NIICE! Im enjoying thiss much eventhough Im not into dnb at the moment... Im feeling totally chilled out... love the athmosphere... looking foreward for the continuation of this piece. Vocals are just dreamy and soothing - nothing more is needed here...
Alex.
this is definitely my kind of music! Nice work with all percussions and wonderful exotic atmosphere.... I think you might extend this into a quite long composition... I mean, it could develop and progress much slower... For me you show all the elements too quickly and there is no space for the reverberation of all this, so to speak. You could also make some 'diminuendo' in the middle and it is possible simply by re-arranging of the elements you have already in the song. No need to find enything else...
I am enjoying this a lot! Groovy, hypnotic, relaxing...
I wish it was much longer...
Great work.
A.
Really glad that you enjoyed this track.I was going to make it a little long but was worried about little repeative-ness but now when I extended the track,it's sounding much more fuller and wonderful than before as the track felt a little paced. Also I have added some 'diminuendo' in the middle which really does standout.
