Excellent sounds. Sounds that I am very unfamiliar with, lol. I can only break down the track on the enjoyability factor and I really enjoyed listening to it. Personally, I wouldn't even know where to begin with something like this. I have enough troubles with electronic music :/
i am really glad you had a chance to hear it Renz and liked the sounds. sometimes just effecting old school sounds can make something fresh. i automated some chorus on a Yamaha "shanai" sample for example. the enjoyability factor means a lot. when i concern myself about that it pushes me to make things just a little tighter and a little more interesting. appreciate very much your visit and comment. you know I am looking forward to your next music for art! regards - Dan
Im delighted to hear the complete piece and the progressions you made with it. I like the things you added to create dynamic. first part takes me to a magical spacious oriental temple or a empty desert. industrial guitar-lead agressive sound and decadent last section seem to be some presentation of fight and effort. nice work. Alex
Listening to this, as well as the clips for the project we're working on, I find myself getting accustomed to your composition style. It's very comforting! What I hear/feel is that pitch is being used to form the dynamics, rather than the more common amplitude route. Makes me wonder if this method would leave more up to the listener as far as physiological response etc... everyone hears and reacts to pitch a bit differently I think. Hope I'm making sense. Any way, I really enjoyed listening! Have made some more progress on the art track this morning. I will be in touch!
Pat, it is an interesting observation. i don't really understand what amplitude is so i can't say. honestly - i feel there are very basic pieces of this electronic composition process that I am clueless about. nevertheless - as i think you are saying - i have come up with a way to achieve some expression and presence in the music. if you are liking it, man, i am happy! tomorrow is a cat day. today was finishing this thing (which of course they are never finished). best regards - Dan
So much going on with this composition. It takes you on a mind trip, the electric guitar, the percussion ,and the whole eastern vibe ,makes for a great composition. Its definitely movie music.Thumps up.
hi benjizo. yea - i agree. it could be background for some movie. i'm glad that comes through for you. thanks for the comment very much. very best regards - dan
Long time mate, sorry haven't been here to check out your works, always enjoy them, haven't been that well, but on mend now, loving the eastern vibe you have going on here, everything sounds spot on, especially love the beat and its level, not over powering, allowing it to carry the track along without being the main focus, very enjoyable listen Dan...thank you for sharing...Fav...Peace n respect...Mosaic...
hope you are feeling better these days Mosaic. I appreciate your stopping by. This one was a bit of a victory in getting stronger with percs. Thanks very much for positive words. keep on going man!
Interesting experiment, less innovative than other things you have done but still kept my interest while hearing.
As already mentioned in other comments, the simplicity is the key and keeping things simple is not as easy as it may sound.
Good work!
Ciao, Domenico
PS: Now I am going to check out the work promenade did with your ideas... I really liked your sentence "music finds its home in spite of us"... I think this holds true for every form of art.
yea. art finds it home - your are domenico. we are like channels for a higher Creative power. we don't always know what we are creating and what it is for! as far as simplicity goes - i will keep working at that. I appreciate your style man! thanks for stopping by! dan
Yeah i dig the eastern vibe. especially the percussion. Everything sounds on point in this track and it has plenty of atmosphere to it with lots of nice reverbs. Is that a guitar or is that the FL slayer? whatever it sounds pretty cool.
This was an excellent listen.
FR
thanks very much FR. yup - slayer. it really helped sticking with the single arabian instruments kit I found in FL Library. kept me in the style. thanks again.
YO yo !
well, I took you on a journey through the OMNIVERSE ...
you take me on a trip through the desert on a camel..
I thank you that there are no gunshots or bombings.
It sounds peacefull...
good job !
thanks! actually I was thinking about explosive effects and backed away from it - maybe for the same reasons you are glad you did not hear any. thanks for "taking the ride". appreciate it. Dan
Mind opening and very creative. Listening again for more perspective. Sort of chimes in the beginning give you a sense of hiding in a hut. from the enemy. With your sinister melodic lines and percussion. Cool Clarinet sound. Which is mimicked by the guitars later. Good work overall.
Steve
thanks Steve. that clarinet is actually a shanai sample from old yamaha midi keyboard gradually run through a chorus effect. i'm glad you liked that. really glad you had a chance to check this one out. look forward to connecting again with your stuff. regards - Dan
Really nice cinematic effort Dan. Great use of percussion to move the track along from one stage to another. There isn't anything to really critique here....the mix is spot on, the composition is solid, and the execution is outstanding.
You really do have a gift for composing great music. Keep it up man, we need more music like yours in this world. Well done. I hope all is well.
appreciate it very much Bear. all is well. won't let the day job break me and won't give up the dream. I felt I got to a little better place with the percs on this one. your thumbs up on that was a big boost. all the best. Dan
Greetings. This has the kind of vibe I like. I do love all sorts of eastern sounds.
1:28 and the guitar riff reminds me a little of Tool. If you don't know that legendary, very special band, I suggest you check them out. Try a track called 46&2.
Main riff in this is a compelling one and you work it well throughout on different instruments. Clanging percussion is good and then that's joined by other metallic grooves.
Good music to soundtrack a Mongolian landscape.
Special link in case you've never heard my favourite Tuvan throat singing group, who have something in common with this track. Just listen to the first piece of music in this performance and I expect you'll be blown away.
I also checked out Promenade's track and I think it's great. Can't help but say I prefer it to yours as he's done more with that main riff. And I love the groove he used.
yea - the throat singing is amazing. a lot of overtones. then the modality and the rhythmic feel is so fresh. damn - that tool track is awesome. feel like shuttin in with tool now for like the next week. as far as use of riff in Promenade's track - what can I say - the music finds its home in spite of us! LOL.
G-d willing i will continue to refine and expand this little track for another week or so before moving on. the notion of a mongolian landscape is super helpful because i will be looking for art to go with this on the Audio Sparks website.
wow! you were not kidding open different possibilities. that was an unexpected application in your track - but VERY NICE! thanks for finding a home for part of it.
if you don't mind - I have a pair of chill cat paintings that I would like to use that track with. I have a website where I match original audio with contemporary paintings. Here are the cats: http://www.audiosparksforart.com/art-wants-music/
a very enjoyable music so far... quite simple motifs that could be developed into something more, the simplicity opens a doorway to different possibilities... but still nice music as it is now...
Alex
yea. amazing how hard it is sometimes even to put a few simple motives down in a good way. but yea - hoping to move into a second section now (after a break). thanks for checking it out, Alex, and positive words. Dan
I am enjoying the sense of urgency that this track creates especially from 0.45
Just a thought, maybe add in thunderous orchestral drums from 1.30 to create a sense of war/battlefield environment, should go well with the distorted guitars.
Description : First off, a big thank you to Condybeats for his guitar and Rasputin for the Rhodes. As soon as I heard the guitar, I had immediate imagery. Play the track all the way through to unfold the story. Very cinematic!
Production and Mastering by Oli (who had goosebumps this time), all lyrics, vocals and owl impersonations by Kay. Please find us also at kayos2.bandcamp.com
Description : Banda sonora de un videoclip que acabo de producir.Cuenta la experiencia de una pareja de astronautas y los recuerdos de ella al perder a su compañero. Espero que os guste. Animo y suerte para todos.
Description : Ok...here it is! Another colab with maestro Tumbleweed! Ed provided the unfinished, basic track...I composed and recorded the long intro using different synths and then added piano (well to the fore) and some brass arrangements along the rest of the track (no violin this time...hehe) and then did the final mixing to wrap it up as it is presented now. I hope you will enjoy it and we both appreciate your listening time and your valuable comments:) Otherwise all thanks to Ed!
Description : Just send me the link where you use that, please
Anyway, I'm looking for artists, especially doing melodic techno, deep house etc... to work in my music label called Chick Records
Description : Treated field recordings of bells and thumping big stainless steel sculptures and synth. Inspired by a trip to the sub-Antarctic Islands.
Description : There are a lot of talented people :
Ft Ankit Sharda for the mantra,
Ft Xelaplus for the choirs,
Ft jjweekz for the voice effect,
Drums :
AcidPro on darbuka
Danke on big cymbals
Loopfreak on indian percussions
Anubis on big drums
Tell me what this track made to you ^^'
Thank you.
Description : Dark, slow, ambient, cinematic jazz with funereal piano turning into something much funkier, psychedelic and beautiful in the second half. Out of the darkness and into the light, you could say. Instruments: electric guitar + bass, lots of synth sounds, including a horn, double bass, another big legato bass, pizzicato strings, two types of piano, a heavily delayed slide guitar instrument, zither, synth arp, one brushy drum loop, kettle drum rolls and 4 programmed acoustic drum kits. This is quite a special track for me and is only the second I've put in the cinematic genre. The more you listen, the more it changes (it even has key changes) and the last three minutes are really quite far out and should probably be longer. Best track I've made for a few months. Interesting thoughts and reflections appreciated. Free sex for the best reviews...
This track is an elaboration of dgalantic’s track “Starting Over 0172257.” It is almost entirely comprised of loops by other artists on looperman. The newsreel in the intro section is from public domain footage of the Vietnam War. Prince Fatty chimes later in with some words of wisdom. The track was sequenced with Mixtikl and edited in Audacity.
Loops from the following artists are included:
1. ThatJeffCarter’s guitar “feedback 197765”
2. three of Nightingale’s harmonica trills: “angels 0088377, inner light 0088361 and never and never 0088366”
3. Heavily fx’ed vocal excerpts from Eshar’s “7th Dimension 0002644”
4. Dcmack’s rhythm loops “2 bass drums 1- 0085449, 2- 0085446, and 4- 0085448.”
5. Steelyvibe’s choral wash “luno frunezo 0005719”
6. Nightingale’s guitar loop “diving deep 0043488”
7. Rasputin1963’s chorals “ soul ladies gospel riff 0088641 and reggae soul girls choir 0087693”

Description : So a new track for everyone. Im pretty impressed by this one, and would even place it higher than one of my best tracks, Angel And A Demon. However, I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put vocals to it. I have some in mjnd, but idk if itd be better to leave as is and keep it instrumental or not. Take a listen and let me know! Also, let me know if anything is too loud, still working on my mastering.
Description : NEVER STOP DREAMING!
Love what you do and do what you love.
