Description : Haven't uploaded anything in a long while. Here's a little cheesy something to pick you up if your feelin down =)

Please comment and criticise on my mix, EQ, FX, song elements, structure, whatever! Tips and trick that have worked for you…… there's always room for improvement and i'm keen to hear your ideas. Thanks for listening.

*update* I've re-mixed and rearranged some parts of this song AGAIN and plan to add vocals to it before it's complete.

I feel in no way qualified to critisize anyones stuff but I'm going to.
This is to long.
If this were chopped down into smaller pieces I can hear it at the begining of a comedy sit com or advertising something.
What I'm saying is with a bit of something and I don't know what .... I smell something very very commercial not cheesy.
A sellable product is not to be sniffed at and marked down as cheesy!

hi again, I like some of the changes you've made here by rearranging the song. Sounds really good like this. The only thing would be that the e piano which I particulary like (the one playing some nice rhythm) seems be a little bit less present here. Synth bass and pad blend-in very nicely in the recording. Im really enjoying this one. NIce work. Congrats, Alex

Thanks for actively listening Alex! I've made the e-piano a little more present, just for you bud haha, but no i agree it was getting a bit lost in the mix. Vocals yet to be added ft. Larry Barrow. Stay tuned!

Ok man, sorry for the late response. I've just been through exam week at my course so I've been super busy, but now I'm on break so I'm keen to work on our track. If all goes well I'll post some added vocals up within the next few days! Peace.

Its still a Work-In-Progess (WIP) so it might end up being different later down the line, but I'm happy for you to use this track if you want to. Heard some of your music and i like what i hear. Keen to see what you come up with =)

hi RampatheSwift, very nicely done, chill, easy, relaxing vibes. I like how you work with all the samples and elements of the song. Nice e-piano rhythms and motifs that you're playing. This fat synth bass-lead maybe stands out a bit by first listening, but still provides more 'gravity' to the composition... nice glassy pad.
Looking forward to hear the complete song. I thought you might just remove some parts and 'compress' it in 4min. That could be good for finding even some better balance and sound in the final mix.
But you could extend the song as well!
Very creative work - Im enjoying it a lot.

Thank you for your comments Alex! Yes i do have problem with having super lengthy songs and i agree it could make for a better arrangement of instrumentation and bigger impact if it were shorter. I did take into account the synth bass being sort of out of place but i will try mix in better. Great that's something to focus on.

Cool vibe here. Sometimes is nice to hear some relaxing hip-hop in bunch of gangsta rap. Really good job done here.

Hello!

Hip-hop is not really my style but this sounds enough nice to me. A bit observation : i feel the drums a little too loud, sometimes suppress some other sounds a bit and for a long track, its not enough various to be a lead channel without the chance of boredom (and there is no need for use it that way, there is nice synths and pianos!). However, its just my opinion as a listener - it might be that sounds better now than with more faint drums.

Thank you. Now that you mention it i agree, i think the drums are a little loud and cloud some of the other subtleties. It's more like Hip-Pop than Hip-Hop haha. I will update the track as soon as possible. No need for apologies. I appreciate your comments. - Paora

love the chords. upbeat drumming. cheerful. happy music. simple, sweet. nice little touches here and there - like the bits of vocal chorus. do you think there could be more "presence" in the mix? is there a possibility you could "normalize" the track to bring it up? all the best. look forward to hearing more! regards - Dan

Hey Dan, by presence do you mean the 1-2kHz frequency range?
Haha yea i did notice that waveform was quite small compared to the other tracks on here so yea i'll normalise as soon as i get a chance. Thanks for the useful advice. Always appreciate that - Paora

Maybe I have a strange taste in music or something but I didn't find this cheesey at all. It's good, I like it. Those drums are pretty sweet too.

Haha cheers. I guess i find the guitar and main melody happy sounding so i say its cheesy in a sense that i can't help but smile/laugh when i hear it. The drums are actually from loop i found on this site!
