hi, really creative work in here - I like it a lot.
I think the composition has also lot of power and thought you might add maybe some other layer or instrument at 1:34 (second chorus) and I suggest you to managing better with all the layers you already have... that could bring even more creativity and space to the song... But this is only my subjective experience because the song is really great and does not necessary need anything...
The choir at the end stands out a bit stylistically but still very nice concept to make such an original outro...
I much appreciate a very creative work and multi- instrumental work you did here.
Greetings,
Alex
I appreciate your input but I wanted a sort of live raw sound in this piece…I also wanted to keep it simple and not busy at all. To me, Jazz is best when it's slow grooving.
hi again,
excellent work you did here - I like very much this groove from rampatheswift, this is really great choice from you.
I suggested him to make some shorter version of this composition but this is still a great demo so far. I am much enjoying your work here although there are many things that could be done in the final mix to get the better sound for sure. But your vocals on this beat are excellent - I have really great time listening.
Congrats,
Alex.
hi, your song seems to sound quite different than the 'original' ShortBMusic-version I've listened the other day... I think its because the bassline from 2:01 is simply too loud in here. Also the low 'cinematic' effect (1:13) generates some a bit strange frequences (for me). But still a very nice attempt to put all this samples together into a song - my observations are still very subiective...hope they are useful somehow.
Maybe I'll change my mind and try to 'mix' this competition song.
Thanks for your version and greetings,
Alex
Hey buddy, thank you for your comment! I very much intended the bass to sound the way it does, and to be at that level. The mixes I had heard so far were lacking in treatment to the bass, and I felt that it was an important part. Also a very high quality stem too, so it lent itself to shaping. I probably took the whole mixing stage a bit too far, but while saying that I know that some others have done way heavier effects than this. I really appreciate the feedback!
hi AZZYKO, this one seems to be really far-distant from
what I actually do and listen at the moment... firstly an extremely loud mixed track for the first listening - I almost do not use compress./limit. in my recordings at all (ok, maybe for some soloing lines sometimes or to achieve an interesting effect)... Anyway your track will sound the same on everything even on some portable radio I guess... That's really fine and overall very nice work here: catchy melodies, some dynamics swell build-up elements, nice pads,
fat synth leads and some other interesting synth sounds...
hi there, I am enjoying this track a lot. Very nice guitar playing and also very nice piano... You said that you learn to play some harpsichord now - I think that's very interesting...
I had some chance to play it too when studied classical music...
Anyway: Nice multi-instrumental work on this song.
Alex
hi EazyBeatz,
this is a very fine chillout song incorporating many interesting elements. I like the oriental vocals - I thought they might work much better if you will use some oriental percussion grove instead of hip-hop or reggae drumming...
But this is still great - you simply combine many styles... Really nice guitars by Chris I guess... Very nice and relaxing composition.
Alex
Thank you for your support . It is greatly appreciated :) Im also happy to know this track has affected you in a positive way. Thank you once again for your time and comments. -EazyBeatz :)
hi Mosaic, this is some really good music from you.
It's also only your's third track Im listening to - and must say I like it a lot! Although am not quite aware of 'mainstrean' dnb style - but Im using dnb drums sometimes anyway... And I'd say I can really feel the connection with what you did here. I love a kind of almost eastern pad you're using around 0:32... Also the rhodes are very gently and perfecltly placed in the backround which creates some very unique athmosphere. Really good work on this one: this is groovy, energetic track yet still calming and peaceful indeed.
Alex
Thank you for the review on this one, pleased you enjoyed, not my fav genre to do, rather do trance any day, but always fun to try something else, even if not mainstream way of doing it, basically make tunes the way I would like to hear, if others enjoy, well and good...Peace n Respect...Mosaic....
hi again silverman and thanks for your kind reply. maybe I liked simply just some rhythm played on the guitar...I do not know... Anyway...really good work. nice day to you.
A.
Silly me ... when I said I'm glad you liked the rythm guitar that isn't I thought I was on the other track ... the one with no instruments at all.
Yes theres rythm guitar in Pink Boots ... sorry for any confusion.
yes, definitely it has a character. very clever and creative work on filtering this main bass/pad/lead loop. I like simplicity and much appreciate the way you actally develop entire track just from this... . nice choice of interesting loops and athmospheric pads along the composition - very groovy and catchy main theme... simply great work - keep it up!
Greetings,
Alex
hi again zombieme, this tune is still in progress I guess...
the funny thing is that you create some kind of expectations at the beginning of the piece using the female voice and wait too long then start slowly some meditative-chillout music (and this is a very nice chillout!). Maybe it's just me but the character of the vox intro doesn't fit somehow to the first part(0:11 - 1:30)... But still it is some very interesting composition. I like the use of all syhth pads in here - this is very nice!... I thought about some old band Astral Projection and it's 'Dancing Galaxy' when listening to your piece. The groove that starts at 1:30 is quite similar to their work...
Very nice production, chill and really easy to listen to.
Alex
hello mate yea I know what you mean it does sound a bit weird. I really need to do some more work on this tune, I got kinda stuck on it up to this point. It's interesting you say that because I really like that old kinda trance music and I think it comes through sometimes in my own compositions. thanks again Alex.
Z
hi again, just want to add something to my previous comment which seems a bit enigmatic... Indeed the groove of the first section is just pure 90's techno and my first thought was definitely 'LFO' song from LFO band (1990). It has this nice upbeat wooden groove with some nice detuned voice loop...
Around 2:05 the synth you're using reminds me of Astral Projection - another 90's classic. This fat lead (3:01) sounds like just taken directly from their recordings!
This is probably my second track from you I'm actually listening - and it's great! I like the way how you efortlessly travelling through different moods in your sets - it definitely reminds me of some long older electronic-dance tracks...
Nice work and again: - keep up the production!
Alex
Yeah, I remember LFO but i'll need to check out Astral Projection. I think all my stuff sounds like it comes from the 90's as that was the decade i was raving the most. It kind of stuck with me.
Glad you could drop by and review this little mash up.
FR
hi, I am much enjoying what you did on the beatzmode backing track... great soft intro with looped-delayed vocals. I like much the tone of the vocals: definitely reminds me of Maxwell... very nice work also with backing vocals layers.
Somehow I want this song to be much longer but still great work you did on this nice beat!
Alex
hi,
really nice work overall... but still I encourage you to find some better piano plugin - this could help this main modal progression of notes to correspond better with the bass, upper (and dark lower) strings, and saxophone melodic line in here. I am just suggest you to maybe experiment a bit, rework it and maybe to find some resonance of the piano progression... I mean some proper chords and bassline.
I have an impression that those layers clash sometimes along the track and there is no proper let's say 'proper chord progression' in there.
But still this is only my vision - the song sounds really nice so far and I am enjoying it a lot. Keep it up!
Alex
Alright. I'll keep that in mind for next time I work on a track like that. I appreciate it. I'll be on the lookout for some good/better quality pianos. Thanks again!
hi, really nice work, very old-styled rhythm guitar playing (from 0:33). This sounds a bit unusual with all the loops you're using...
But still interesting - very classic and really decadent...
Very creative composition eventhough you made it with loops.
Greetings,
Alex
hi again, very nice and clever work with loops... quite fast production though... I always like when someone says 'I will od something'... this site is run by a future outcome...haha!
anyway I am much enjoying your funky vibes... was listening also to your piano playing on Alicia Keys piano patches - its great! I admire such an efortless and laidback playing!
Alex
hi, im enjoying this unique music a lot. Very interesting sound-image you achieved by adding some processing to the violin monodie... too bad it has no proper ending - you could at least fade it out...
very dreamy and soothing sounds...
Alex
hi, a very professional production you've made. The mix is very loud though - but that will sound perfect on the radio I guess...
Really good sounds - keep it up!
Greetings,
Alex
hey, Im much enjoying your funky stuff. great e piano little elements, female vox... acoustic guitar sounds perfect - with very nice and rich harmonics... excellent sound - no too much compress. and stuff...I like that. detailed work on the multi-layered composition - simply great!
nice Sunday to you,
Alex.
hi again, yes this sounds quite different this morning...haha.
I am just curious what would happen if you only remove some phased effect... I do not know if it is just some effect added to the drums or it is actually a phased pad... The lack of energy is because the drums sounds too far. But anyway Im enjoying the work you did - really cool piano added at the end!
Nice Sunday to you,
A
Hi again - you are my hero right now listening to all these crappy versions of the same songs! Thanks so much for taking your time to do that. It's really helpful.
I've been listening to breakbeat based music just now to refresh my memory of how it really sounds and I Think you are on to something - the drum line should be more prominent and kind of dry and there should also be more bass specificly tied to the rhythm.
I'm not sure this song is suited to sound like that because of the heavy reverb and all the automation in the drum line wich creates those phased sounds (I also used this flanger-effect on the drums and that's probably what you are referring too). But I'll give it a try!
I Think I'll try to give the vocal a rework too, it's so very lame like this.
