Cool one but is it really heavy metal?
Who cares as long as it cool.
Well done!

on Doing A Thing Will by Spivkurl
Hey, this is fun to listen to. And i mean that in the best way for sure.
Nice mix of sounds and directions. On some points i thought, oh Spivkurl goes mainstream but then it quickly changed into something different and cool.
Really very successful stuff. Creativity is always a good thing and you have it for sure.

"Spivkurl goes mainstream" it sounds like a funny name for an album! But seriously, I just enjoy making trance pretty often, to the point where it infects a lot of the other styles of DAW based music I do. All the more reason to rely upon my computer less, right?

I like doing fun electronic styles with weird vocal clips and field recordings mixed in. It seems that even if the music is a bit bland or standard, those things can add a lot of interest, sometimes one of a kind interest.

The ripped samples still have not been identified by any listeners, which does not surprise me... but the gymnopilus reference in my description has been identified, which does surprise me.

I always enjoy reading your comments, even on other people's songs. I appreciate that people like yourself would even bother listening to my stuff, and that fact alone makes this site pretty freakin cool! Thanks for your input! Have a good day!

Hello Mr Silverman
Hope things are going better for you these days.
It looks as if you had become acquainted with your new equipment.
Very jazzy stuff but also nice electronic/modern stuff.
Not 100% my preferred kind of music but i could really enjoy the listen. This is not a bad sign.

Well done

This one for sure needs no rap part.
It is cool like it is
I really enjoyed the listen!
But if you still think you need something to fill the instru part, try a solo and or some La La La (or Ho Ho HO or Hey Hey Hey Hey or a mix of them or something else) singing in this same fresh style. People love this sort of parts. They can sing to them and even don't have to know any words at all.

Well done yeti09

Ahhhhhh. Amazing.
I think you did a really good job with posting this one right here. So people can hear what music can be. One man, one instrument, one go. I am sooooo fare away from could doing that. It's almost a shame.
But in first line i want to say - HELLO, i am glad to see you back right here my friend. I really missed you

Hello Joe!

Thank you so much for finding this one and listening. So briefly: this year I do different musical things (from my usual 'looperman music' I mean) but also it's a territory of what I was really trained for to be a musician. The concert situation of playing written music was quite challenging at this particular time (as it always is), the repertoire wasn't easy too. I say this after having some longer break from performing music in a regular manner. This is excellent inspiration for planning more future concerts - maybe playing organ solo music near Christmas so I can be more into the actual 'performing' next summer. I practise new repertiore as well.
Concert was late in the evening so I was quite relaxed, the reaction of the public was very positive. I am also glad I could record in best quality than before.

Happy to see you on here too! Thank you once again for your very kind words. Till next time.

and here is a video from the concert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL3qR9CEP9g
Best, Alex

create a music track for games, is on my wish list .. hahaha.
waiting for any invitation before I die. lol

On the batter, I spend a lot of time creating the heavy drums, drums with severe impact, the results are better using headphones. I use Taikos and Toms.
thank you for this review, your words are welcome my friend.

Nice guitar playing.
This could Sound better if you would mix it a Little more. I think the drums are to loud and the female voice goes mostly down in the compleete mix.
But Overall i like it.

on The Mammoth Titan by Anubis
Great cinematic one.
Cool sounds for sure. Did you use analog synths or vst's to create the mammoth? I also really enjoyed the drums, cause they are wild and powerfull, just like the time you talk about.
I really wonder why no one wrote a comment to this nice Piece of Music/sound.
In my eyes you did an extreme good Job. I can really feel the power of the mammoth. Most of the People who lif now would shit themselfs into there pants if they should hunt one of them with some fire and a stick with a Stone on top.

the mammoth sounds, were sampled from elephant sounds, extracted from a documentary about elephants.
the drones as at 0:07 I created from flute instruments using octaves.
this song, is currently my favorite.
the inspiration came through a documentary I watched a short time ago about the history of the mammoths on earth.
mammoths should make a loud scary sound ...
really, hunting them should be an insane thing, I can not even imagine it.
thank you so much for listening to this song and leave your thoughts, your words are appreciated

I enjoyed the listen to this track.
Groovy and also a Little relaxed.
Well sounding Music and also good work with the vocals.
But like on 90% of all hip hop stuff here i have the Feeling that you could do the listener the favor and insert the whole lyrics. Or did you find them to bad and or without any real meaning???? :)

on Tranquility Ft Fuentes and Luna Harley by sheensheep
1:16 the effect that you used on the complete track just for 1 sec - i think you shouldn't do it on the vocals. It really sounds like a mistake in my ears. But that's just me and noting more. But all the rest fits for me.
Good work, I like what you done with the vocals and the music gives a nice dreamy feeling with that cool groove.

Glad you liked it overall. I added that effect to break the flow a bit and give it a janky feel. It wasn't very noticeable when it wasn't affecting the vocals so I added it. Though looking back on it, I kind of agree with you. I wanted the track to feel janky but still somehow natural, and this may have pushed it a bit too far the other direction.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback!

Hi Joe
Thank you for the beautiful compliments.
I recorded this song (among some other ballads) late last year at Milestone Studios in Cape Town South Africa.
The Orchestra was conducted by Bruce Retief, a well known and highly respected Producer in most parts of the world. He also arranged the Orchestration for me.
I was privileged to work with him.

I love singing material that speaks to the soul.

I would also like to sing with other artists from abroad and collaborate where possible.
I am open for new ideas and challenges.
Thank you once again for your beautiful compliment, Joe.

Warm regards

Hey Spiv, this is really something unusual but still a real Spivkurl piece.
Interesting how the audio track controls the DD20.
Amazing what you build and twist. A lot of respect for it.
And the track itself is really successful.
And here comes a link to a really incredible event.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hS78vyLezkc
This show was not broadcast even though it was a really "soft" music piece. But when I read how you feel before the first comment, it comes to my head. Look at the amazed audience. They've never heard anything like this before. I would be even happier if the band had played for example - economy is dead (Wirtschaft ist tot)- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r634VNemWAg ... but no matter

All the best

Hello Joe! I thank you for your attention to this piece, and your links. I am hearing the Laibach performance now, and have just "tweeted" it (sad I know). Very brave stuff though!

Started "Wirtschaft ist tot" now, and it's crazy, even for the era! Thank you for introducing me to their music! It's interesting to keep learning what I was missing when the connection was all dial up around here, and the internet was this thing no one understood. We had a decent record store, with some good finds back then, but now I realise that most of it was still pop music. There was a whole world of unter Tage (is that right?).

I hope you have heard Thursday's studio performance of mine....

https://youtu.be/mu6Yf1OJixo

I don't really know what's going on with me now... I guess that this year is all about taking chances. Place my bets, against all odds. And keeping out of jail all the while. I think people here are very distracted, and it is mostly to my benefit.

Hey, well thanks for listening to me ramble in words and music. I am still streaming through Laibach with an Achtung Remix. Fun stuff! Have a great day!

I'm happy to hear that this continued through your mind after listening (at least that is how I read your comment)!

I still struggle with liking Sytrus as a synthesizer. While it is very capable, the sounds still seem very "plastic" to me, and the interface is not the most friendly. It did however work in this context, and I probably won't redo it as a hardware based work.

It was a fun contest, and I learned some things while doing it. Though the song is way better as a vocal track.

Thank you for listening my friend!

on The War Cry by silverman
Holla :)
After a while i came back to looperman just for some listening. And i found this one. Very cool one. I like this vibe and the dynamic. Good sounds, samples and loops are used in this track. I really enjoyed the listen but i don't get any connection to a war. This is way to cool and way to chillyfunk for a war. For me it was more a "leaving the war" song, if it has to do any with war at all. ;)
In fact i had more this -on the way to steal all the gold of fort knox- feeling.

I am happy to come here and listen to this one. a good starting point for my "comeback" on looperman.

Welcome in the wild Stone age!
This has really some primitive vibes and sounds and a very dangerous wild dynamic. Ok, maybe it is because i played a lot Farcry Primal last weeks but i think it fits to this time very very well. Wild, dangerous, in the midst of the struggle for survival and full of life.

Very nice one and very well produced. Excellent stuff.

Hey joe
I used heavy instruments to give this primitive emotion, some time ago I also played Far cry primal, maybe it was inspiring hahaha.
It is a great curiosity for me to know how these primitive societies lived, although the books already say a lot, there is still a great curiosity,
