Hey Burt, i'm really happy to see you here again!
What a great coincidence.
I'm back on loopermann and then I find a new song from you here. And then I read that you have internet access at home again and also thinking about making music together .... If that's not great, what else should it be?
I am happy to be available for a renewed cooperation.

stay tuned
joe

PS: the track sounds great and you played it very well with a lot of feeling. I really enjoyed the listen.

JOE!! It really all started here for me, I was away for a time but did check in, nightmare using mobile internet! How you doing? If you see my stuff on FB you know I'm doing well, kind of have become a rockstar in the homemade instrument community. Funny I was thinking about our collabs this morning talking with a local musician that does Graveyard blues, and Once was exactly the song! I'm in the middle of wiring up a coffin guitar with 2 more halloween type ones coming next. Definitely need to work together on some new material. One is getting a bass guitar string with 3 regular guitar strings, should be very interesting. We need something in time for the annual Halloween thread, scary enough to make up for my absence last year. I have a Luthier show the first week of October, 1 of 2 builders, very exciting. Sold guitars at the first CBG festival in this area, kicked ass and had an absolute great time. I'll message you later see if we can't get something started. These people have ruined me, I only use handmade guitar accesories now!! Preinstalled mojo ;) So happy to hear from you Joe! I'll be in touch.

Very well done work, like always :)
Nice production and overall sound. Dreamy and catchy stuff. Really good one to relax and fly a little around.
Also a good one for counting stars and drink some tea :)
I didn't listen to much music here on looperman the last times, so it was a little luck that i just visit the track list and saw this one. And like always, you didn't disappointed me. I hope that all is good on your side Leon.

on Fearful Apprehension by gaarry
This is for sure one of the badest jazz tracks at all :)
cause it is a pure cinematic soundtrack. And therefor it is a cool work. Maybe a little long for an intro of an album but that's just me and my feeling and doesn't matter at all.
What i missed was a scream (or something like that) at the end.
But overall i have to say that i liked it and that it sounds very well.

Thanks a lot for you thoughts. I do agree that it is a little long for an intro, I got carried away with building momentum in the track and it ended up being that length. I feel like shortening it would lessen the impact the song has. I can also kind of justify the length of the intro by likening it to a horror film, which usually has a slow/lengthy few introductory scenes before getting into the scary parts of the film.

The scream is a great idea! however, I have used that technique in two other songs on the EP and don't want to saturate the album with such a cliche sound. If this were a stand a lone song then I would definitely add a scream!

Very well done Nous2! I really love what you have done here. Great work on the vocals. All fits cool together. Always nice to know that people could use something made by myself, but sure better to see that talented people do some cool stuff like this with something made by myself. So thanks therefor.

on Nintendo era inspired song by BlaqTi
Ok, what can i say?
This one sounds like a 8 bit version (not the drums) of a track.
If this one is "the one and only" version of that track, then i would say you will not have much success. At least i don't know really any person who would spend money for THIS version :) But that doesn't mean any and for sure not that the track isn't good at all.
I bet you would have more success if you do the same one with some "better" sounds and then later try to sell this 8 bit version to Nintendo :)

on I Wanna Be in Love Featuring Patricia Edwards by Bilbozo
This track is really great stuff.
I like the overall sound of the mix. It has a kind of a life playing feeling and that's always good. The vocals fit perfect with the music and if they would sound just a bit more mmmm full, then this song would get 20 from 20 points. But i think the problem is in the steem itself and not to easy to fix.
You all done a real good work. I really enjoyed the listen.

This could be (is) an excellent trap track.
This could be (is) an excellent soundtrack for a western movie also.
Maybe it could be an excellent western trap song ? :)

This song is really a nice one Jamid.
Very catchy and cool. Everything is sounding great. In a way dreamy and relaxed but (for me) also with a touch of searching for something special that was gone in the past. A real good work and i enjoyed the listen a lot.

Hello Dan
I am not the biggest fan of dance music at all but i think it work well the way you done it. It sounds nice, friendly and fresh.
I am on Jamids side and would have mixed it different. I don't mean things like changing the genre or so, just things like different stereo places, levels, eq things, some fx and so on. The vocals work really good with the music you created and the synth lines are really nice. If you want i could put a hand on it :) if not, no problem at all cause i enjoyed the listen just like it is.

Hello Orlando.
I just was listen to some of my loved stuff and said to me - well Joe go to looperman and see what music is around - and in mind i told myself - well it is not really fair to listen to some so good music and then go to the loop, cause it is always hard for the most to stand against (or at lest on) the high standarts of professional stuff. But you did it! Really well done in all ways. Sounds, mix, composition, feeling and so on. What can or shall i say? Very professional stuff and i can really enjoy listen to this kind of music. Ok, not really Halloween feeling inside but that makes it even better :)
Very pleasant one and sure one of the best songs in that style here on looperman.

Hey Joe!

Always a pleasure to hear from you! This wasn't really ment as a typical halloween tune, maybe even the opposite of it
but I think it still preserves some nods for the occasion.
I'm really glad and grateful for your very positive and generous feedback...it's even a rarity to receive such a favourable review....thank you so much for that!:)

Humans :)
I got not any word at all (without the refrain cause i could read them in the lyrics) but the structure of this one fits for sure the being of humans. This is cool and strange at the same time but a little fare away from dub in my opinion. But that is maybe a kind of trick or treat and really ok in the days of Halloween :)
I would enjoy reading the lyrics to get the meaning a little more.
But i could enjoy the listen for sure without them.

Man, it's super rare that I am this far behind on replying to comments. I must have just released an album I guess!

I seem to have a very different conception of "dub" to the common human. My references of dub are mostly tape based, aside from and including most of the ones I have done on my own.

The Clash is one big "dub" influence to me.

Iris-T-Shirt is a big influence on songs like this. My wife and I are always looking for ways to manipulate political statements to suit our purposes. This song reminds me of an Iris-T-Shirt song, and what we did with Goerge W back in the day. We made him honest for the time.

The lyrics that I posted are the only ones I truly wrote. All others are just manipulation, and I say that with only the greatest of self esteem.

The written part is mostly a statement about wildlife management and it's application to humans as wildlife. The sampled manipulated portions only serve to enslave prominent figures to support my views.

Thank you for taking a listen, and delving into my strange POV!

I like the intro. Very dark stuff and i always enjoy this kind of sounds. Maybe it is a bit long but that's only my opinion.
The mix sounds really good. Nice and clear mastering (at least at my headphones) with a good stereo field.
The beat could need a powerful snare to make it a little more driving.
The ending part is also well made.

I enjoyed the listen!
